  1. I’ve had this one two, years now and so far very pleased. Quiet, one finger start , doesn’t get hot and it cuts as good if not better then any gas one I’ve owned . I have a range 10 x 90 yards and one battery cuts It , and I’m talking often knee high weeds, yard grass is a snap . No,idea on long term at this point . oh it’s a Husqvarna

Last night , Rohrbach Scotch Ale with dinner on Sodus Bay, followed by the Winter Ale at a friends house .
  9. Rode for twenty years over 100k miles . Now I’ll admit in my youth on Sunday mornings we’d head out and open them up . But in areas of little to no traffic . The last few years here in Roch. There are groups of them riding well into triple digits in traffic weaving in and out. Each year I tell our adult daughters, to,watch for motorcycles, but there’s little one can do in this case . I get it, I wore the center stand off my one bike due to hard cornering and straightening out the curves , I would fold up,my pegs and scrape the pipes as well, but I did it on empty roads and off times . I kind of want a bobber rat , now . TF , I believe loud pipes annoy people and create hostility. My Father lived on Lake rd in Webster right past the first S curve, he could barely watch a Mets game on Sunday as bike after bike would open it up coming out of the first curve , he hated them with a passion . Co worker lives by a 4 way stop where each loud pipe guy feels the need to whack the throttle . Pretty much wakes his kids up,from naps daily he really hates them( loud pipes not his kids ) . One will go by the firehouse and he’ll say he hopes he eats the back of a dump truck .
  10. Perhaps Tennessee. The deer hunting is really good, and my Nephew there has great spots for me now . Hunting is pretty far down on my list as far as moving goes , but Tenn has decent weather , no state income tax, very low property tax , and they are one of a handful that also won’t tax my pension. Between the state tax and property tax, I’d be looking at 10k in savings .

Few left over from my last night at work ......
  14. It was a actually quite emotional leaving this morning . But last night every fire truck in the city came by my firehouse , many chiefs and former co workers stopped by as well . Four guys retired off my shift last night 2 LTs and 2 Capts, with a combined 146 of experience. Its more then a job, we have softball teams ,hockey teams, golf leagues, bowling leagues, trips to Vegas, cruises ,a Dozen or more shoot in a 3D league , hunting trips, fishing tournaments you name it ,there always stuff to do . A FF can retire and have less to do , as odd as the sounds . But bad weather during deer season won’t mean to much now, I’ll just roll over, and wait for better weather . We plan on going South for a bit over the winter, and takes some small trips this summer, our dog is holding us back from major traveling right now . Thanks everyone !
  15. So,after 28 years it ends at 0800 hours. Very bittersweet, love the job and the men ,but my time has passed, an old boss stopped by and told how I was a beast, well not anymore, time to step aside for the new beasts . Ill miss the fires, the brotherhood, and drinking IPAs with cute TV news reporters , but I’m tired of the BS and being a shadow of past self.
  16. Our two, never lived home after college , and in college it was just summers. Of course if they got in a jam, we would have taken them in .But they never would have wanted to go back home otherwise .
