  1. Best of luck ! Get well soon . ” everything hurts “ is a a daily thing for me , from my teeth to my feet .
  2. I’m an Apple guy, she is not ,although we both have iPhones and don’t do any financial stuff on them . I’ll look into lastpass ,thanks . So I’m at my nephews in Tenn. I have my phone in my pocket , that’s it no Alexa, nothing else . He tells me about a device he has on his water line that tracks usage , and therefore can detect if he gets a leak , and it then shuts it down . The next day an ad for that product was on my Instagram ! Usually the only ads I get are for campers, and lonely women nearby .
  3. So she messed up , I won’t go into those details , but it happened around 5 on a Monday evening. Jumped in the truck to bring it to The Geek Squad , on the drive she called the bank and froze , two checking, two savings ( we have separate ones ) two investment accts. Debt, and CC. That took 20 minutes , which brings up an important point , you may not have time to freeze things before they can gain access , and that was just one of many calls we had to make . Geek guy said the money is generally gone pretty fast ,so being there 20 minutes later was a good sign, and no remote access software was installed . Geek Squad took it right in and checked a few things, but it needed to stay . We got it back Wednesday, and went to the bank Thursday to unfreeze, change passwords etc . We belong to the banks Private Client program so,we work with a dedicated person there , she also installed 24/7 identity protection, credit report and credit usage monitoring. Hey I’m a 800 but the Mrs is higher dang . We got a new IP address via new modem and router . Changed a boat load of passwords . Some of my take a ways , cash on hand comes in handy , needed to beef up our online security sooner we were to lax there , I really like hard assets ,land, bullets ,guns ,cash , gold , food , tools ,but the reality is our investments into other areas are needed, but they are little more then numbers on a screen that can disappear in a few keystrokes . This went fairly well, but I’ve since heard some pretty bad stories , months long battles trying to reclaim those numbers on a screen .
  4. Long out of print , but can be found .
  5. Congrats on the permit . this year I bought two WiFi monitors, one for,our freezer and one for our house , as we stepped up our travels. It checks the temperature every hour , I simply look at the app when ever I want and see all the hourly readings . I even do it while I’m home as I don’t open the freezer everyday ,to check . Although it’s set to notify me if it drops to a pre set level anyway . https://tempstick.com/?gclid=Cj0KCQjw0umSBhDrARIsAH7FCocGd7GvNbT2_2vM2OuG6y5WnSgbXsk-LbJXAXrYsf0db95YeJ01lfYaAgPGEALw_wcB
  6. So I grabbed some 20ga sst , and looked around better they have 12ga Truball, Remington 3006, Hornady 7mm08, some kind of 270, 308, 6.5 creedmoor , 350 legend , 300blk, a bunch of other AR stuff . the SST was $17.99 , the 7mm08 $32
  7. I hear there’s a good roller coaster in Cedar Point Ohio ! Also there’s an old school wood one still in operation here in Roch.
  8. Late start … I’ll probably be at the store closer to 12, I call then
  9. Pm me you’re cell and be able to check it 11-12 today ? Otherwise I’ll just grab two boxes .
  10. Nomad

    Beer

There’s no mountains around here, the hills start basically at The Other Half if you head south , Naples , Bristol Ny etc . Or head East a few miles and hit Canandaigua Lake .

    Beer

Couple beers from yesterday, a ipa with lunch in Canandaigua then a road beer at The Other Half ,If you look past the horizon you can almost see my hunting spot .
  12. Yes there were . Want me to grab some tomorrow? I don’t recall the price . My daughter uses them , well they’re back ups to her 7mm08, I have a few boxes here at home as well . Samantha will be here for Easter , and can bring them back to Buffalo , she did this for Turkey Feathers ,it’s not a problem.
  13. FYI , was in Dicks Webster today ( needed Sawyers tick spray ASAP ) bought 7mm08, had tons of 6.5 Creedmoor, lots of 30.06 Cor lok , bunch of Hornady sabots , 350 something , 300 blk . I didn’t try to memorize it all though .
  14. Switched to beach glass hunting today . Good haul , a few I can make into jewelry, but mostly smalls, some good colors though . Shed hunting tomorrow, Although I got all, those pieces in less then an hour , a bit more rewarding.
  15. We’ll be there ourselves, Mrs Nomad ,both girls one fiancé. Don’t know the seats as they were a gift from our daughter , 7pm show eating at the Gatehouse first .
  16. In the mean time it wouldn’t be parked in my garage or any structure near it or my home . First question I learned to ask at vehicle fires, “ how’s it been running , or any work done lately ? “
  17. Don’t know much about fla schools , but my one nephew sold his law practice in NYS and moved to Texas , he has four kids ,two were in private schools and two in a good suburban district here . They were “ behind “ when they moved to Texas . Oh and they couldn’t make the same sports teams there either . Another nephew in Tenn. his one just finished 4 years of college in two ( somewhere in California) , now getting his masters , and another just got in FSU,and the third scored 1460 on his SAts and got a 106k scholarship . Oh and in Tenn. you pay school taxes ONCE , when you buy or build your house ,and it’s like maybe two grand . The idea that the south’s schools overall are backward or whatever are long since over, they also wear shoes down there now I’ve heard . Some of the worst school districts in the country are now in NYS , and you get to pay thousands upon thousands of dollars every year of your life for them !
  18. That largely falls on deaf ears . The reason I dwell on this ,is to maybe just perhaps encourage others to, understand one of my favorite sayings . Id rather be looking at it then looking for it .
  19. Ya traded with another member here , my 7mm08 rounds for his 35 rem, I don’t even shoot that , it was to help out a guy I hunt with . Last time he found it on the shelves was way before this all started , the guy had five boxes and advised my buddy to buy them all . Youve hit on another point, as they continue to come out with new calibers , they just push others out of the limited product line even further. My friend with the 35rem is thinking about buying a gun he can actually get ammo for , something for others to consider as well I guess .
  20. Would in a second if I could get our adult children to go with us , I don’t want to leave them so here I am . Plus my pension is NYS tax free, which helps a bit . I’d say 50% of our extended family has left , and almost all of our friends . it is a daily struggle though . Our friends bought double the house down south as their property tax is like $1000 a year . If you have a 300k house here you can have a 600k one there for the same monthly payment . Oh and no state income tax .
  21. Probably so . The manufacturers are making what sells, which currently are the nato rounds for the most part along with popular self defense rounds . They cycle in popular hunting rounds and so forth as necessary, trying to satisfy that market too . Obscure or rounds that don’t sell much volume are the last to be made . My advice to all is if you see what you need buy it . Don’t wait for the price to drop hoping you’ll find it again , once you have a bit of a supply you can do,that . Although it’s not going to go back to,prices of a few years ago, why would it ?
  22. Buds guns , online and they ship to NY has 12ga Hornady as of this morning .
  23. Interesting , I had the Wrangler tires on my Z71 Colorado but the All Terrain ones , I replaced them early, at 33k like I do all my tires . After a lot of reading I bought the same AT tires . More aggressive then the Fortitudes . Im not a vehicle or tire guy though lol . Some who buy new , have the dealer put on the tires they want from the get go , which is nice as they get what they want and others looking to save money can buy the , new take offs , for a decent savings .
  24. Welfare programs . Having spent the last two months in several parts of Fla. I’ll say this their roads are way better both in pavement and number of lanes the lack of litter stood out too , there are wonderful state boat ramps on every lake , docks, paved parking ,bathrooms, separate kayak ramps and so on . We boated from lake to,lake through channels , that the state cleans out each year . NY non Resident fishing license is 50% more then the one I bought in Fla. which I bought on my phone in the boat , while in NY you have to print it . Beautiful county firehouses , new school buildings , oh the emergency room I went to ,I was in and out in about two hours , including ultra sound , two visits with the PA , discharge instructions etc . Here people lay in beds in hallways sometimes for a day or more … As soon as we got back here , pot holes galore , litter everywhere, rusty graffiti covered bridges , decaying buildings , oh and on pace for record shootings again in Roch. Oh and our NY lic. Plate pealed off the other day See what your sky high taxes gets you ? Me neither .
