Walked to St.Armands Circle ( which is really an oval, since there’s no common radius) couple drinks each and some calamari. Back to the condo to eat up left overs .

No they are not rebooking . Where we are is an older 8 unit condo, I’m paying with all the fees a little over 3k for 16 nights, in Cocoa beach the ,month cost us 3k . Nextdoor ,and well most of this street is what they refer to as hotel houses, 1k a night for those . Someone’s paying it, not us ! The owner here could sell this place for 2-3 million I’d guess, they’d knock it down and put up two hotel houses . Soon all those like me will be priced out of this area . in the meantime I’ll be at the beach ….

The foolish , will cry and there’s no shortage of them , I agree . Anyone who hasn’t stocked up on essential supplies by now ,to smooth out any supply disruptions has rolled the dice and it’s on them . Shortage of workers, drivers, raw materials, possibility of cyber attacks, demand outpacing supply , sanctions ,sky rocketing costs, retaliation for sanctions and on and on . But, but, but the store will have it , perhaps .

Went out with 4 other couples last night in Bradenton Fla. one couple rents the same small house somewhere around there for 5 weeks each winter, about $8500. They just tried to book it for next year ,the new price………$26,000 !

Bought my first house in the mid ‘80s mortgage was double digits .

My niece sold her home here for 200k or so , how she made out was buying one in Tenn. That one was 400k but about the same payment though . Our daughter pays 7k in taxes here on her home she paid 160k for , in Tenn. it would be a few hundred ,leaving $6000or more per year for mortgage payments . Fun fact you pay school tax one time there, when you purchase or build , our friends paid I think 3k when they built their home there . That house I posted near where we are staying will be torn down for sure, they build these “ hotel “ homes that rent for $1000 a night . They line the street we’re on , and there’s currently three more being built around us .

Or sat in the other teams bleachers. Our youngest played BB through varsity at a Webster high school . It was an experience I’ll never forget unfortunately .

Yep, when we sold our house in the city ,mid ‘90s it was the opposite of today, there were 70 plus houses for sale on the nearby streets . If a buyer didn’t like the color of the carpet in one bedroom they passed , I say that because I got told that in the “ feedback .” When we finally sold we did so at a loss, I wrote a check at closing .

I’d be pissed too, those are far from fancy beers .

Most ,likely it will be torn down, and a new one built . We know someone here that just bought the house nextdoor for 4 million, and is knocking it down to build what they want .

You should see it down here . This place is a couple down from the one we’re renting . We know someone here who’s place went from 5 million to 10 million in eight years .

Could be worse, could be raining .

One thing with living out on this Key, there’s no services, grocery stores, gas stations, car wash ( your car gets very salty here ) drug store , liquor stores , Gun shops , all on the mainland. To get there you go over the bridge, which ends at a multi lane traffic circle , which backs up halfway across the bridge at times , oh and there’s construction going on in it . I had to park the Subaru for a few days, as I pissed off a few drivers . St Armands circle has 130 shops and restaurants, but no 7-11, food stores etc . That’s an easy walk for us ,we just went for coffee . As the owner here told me ,it’s the bridge or helicopter, lacking a helicopter, I’m staying put .

If I’m going to die I really don’t give a rats behind if I eat anything . Well maybe the same type of steak ,in the last meal scene in the movie ,Law Abiding Citizen . Clouds are gone off to the beach !

Enjoy your Four buck gas soon, and who knows what the summer will be, $5 ? And if you think you pay a lot more for natural gas now, wait till next year .

Good to hear ! I need to win another gun , I was just in a drawing for a new Corvette, but oddly I didn’t win , although I was going to take the cash option .

I think he may mean the Brady check ? As there was no NYS Police 5 yr recertification in 2014 . Any issued on or before 2013 had to recert for the first time in 2018 . There have been times where I didn’t add a new gun in over five years ,so I had to have a new Brady check, back then .

Pretty much everyone I know with an LCP, myself included, use a Houge Handall grip sleeve and swap out the spring, for a Wolff 13# spring . It’s a pretty good improvement for perceived recoil .

I couldn’t possibly count the number of “ fires “ I went to that were grills . In the city people put them on porches, pour a ton of lighter fluid on it, and some one across or down the street sees the flames. Every once in awhile you get lucky and it starts the porch on fire .

Ok funny story kinda. We get a call for a dryer fire right up the rd for our firehouse . Get there THE Fire Chief is there as he was on his way home, the Chief does not normally go to fires . He says “ Larry it’s straight up those stairs .” So we go up it’s the 3rd floor of a larger wood frame old city house , we’re alone now as the other houses have farther to respond from . Me and my irons guy put out the drier, I go over the air,” we got it knocked down Chief ,” he replies “ I don’t think you do …” I stick my head out the window look up , and smoke is puffing good out of the attic . Now the other companies are with us , and we have to pull a lot of ceiling as it’s rolling in the attic . Owner had it vented into the attic and the fire went right up the vent like a chimney . Couple years later at PT, first day the gal sees my job and says her apartment had a fire….

Melt wax into it , that makes a great fire starter .
