    Beer

We killed a bottle of 12 y/o Balvenie single malt last night at euchre last night .
  3. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=S6V0S1m5a7U Hold my beer , becomes where's my leg.
  4. I hunt farmland yet my pack has plenty in it . Back up face mask and gloves because I tend to loose or forget those after washing them, warm hat if wearing a baseball hat , extra knife and flashlight , dragging rope, binos, water bottle , my survival stuff is always in my pack, if I'm in the Yukon or Canandaigua it just is. Seat cushion as I don't leave them on the stands . First aid stuff that will stop major bleeding including GSW. Atomic Fireballs !!! If they made a camo kitchen sink I'd consider that too.
  5. Thanks ! There are so many good guns out today, it's hard to go wrong . Well ok you can but not if you stick to the name players . The blue label ( cops , military , ff and so on ) come with three standard capacity magazines (15 rounds) . Being a FF they swapped mine out for 10's , I was hoping they might forget ...... Well in June I'll be in Penn. watching St . Louis play the Pirates . Hats off to The Firing Pin gun shop in Bergin NY, great service and they got me the gun in 3 weeks, a bit of a drive for me but well worth it nice shop indoor range , can rent handguns to try and so on.
  6. Just picked up this Glock Mod.19 ( 9mm) today . Had a Mod 23 ( 40 cal) since '92 but decided to consolidate some calibers , 40 ammo is pricey and 9 mm factory hollow points have come a long ways in recent years. Got it under the blue label program . Between selling the 40 with a few mags and tossing in some ammo and the BL program ,cost me $75 .
  7. In general , yes buying "American " is often harder . But an outdoorsman still can easily buy American made outdoor products. A few I own , tree stands , knives, flashlights , water bottles, guns, and up until Sentry moved to Mexico the safes to keep them all in. Toss in Redwing boots and some of the Danners. My Lone Wolf stands, Surefire lights , Benchmade, Spyderco and Stider knives are second to none , many with liftime no questions asked warranties . Not for hunting but my Allen Edmond shoes ,made in Wisconsin are well made quilty shoes that are recraftable, buy them once wear them for a lifetime . Also I lost count of the number of random women who compliment my shoes, at my age and shape that's worth the price of admission right there!
  8. Well I've bought two bows in almost 30 years of bow hunting ......
  9. Had to bury the leftovers at the beach, where they won't kill any trees !
  10. Near where I hunt is an old cemetery , I stopped by after shed hunting last week. The date on this headstone reads 5/18/28 that's 1,828 btw and there are folks buried there that were born in the late 1,700s ! This person happened to live one day. Just made me stop and think I've hunted there almost 30 years and there are people buried there who were born just a few years after the birth of our nation !
  11. I forget which hunting app I use but I love it ! After my stands are marked I take a screen shot and send it to my wife's and the land owners phones. Then each hunt they get a text which stand I'm using , shouldn't be an issue locating me . Great for taking new people so they who's where and how to get to those stands if need be. Like the feature where I can figure acreage as well.
  12. My old phone takes good pics. Here's a selfie .
  13. I fix your flat tire , Merle . PPL I'm a Merle fan , and see I'm in company of some of my favorite posters here .
  14. Sure building forts in the woods, damning a creek and stocking it with trout we breed in our own spring feed hatchery we made. Sucker spearing !!! Lots of baseball , football and bb. Here'show it worked , say baseball we picked our own teams and weren't shy about saying who was good or who sucked . When there was only 4 or 5 per team we figured it out , right field was out of bounds, batters supplied there own catcher and had an all time pitcher . I feel this made us stronger people than the , everyone gets a trophy and don't keep score method of today. No Dads or coaches involved , just a bunch of kids who made it work Oh and a couple of the older ones who were really good had to bat lefty .... How could I forget? Apple wars in the orchard , basically a snowball fight with apples.... We also had " destrucko wheel" a large heavy steel wheel thing, that we rolled down hills in the woods to see what it would destroy in its path. Getting it back up the hill was the orignal crossfit work out 45 years ago!
  15. Thanks I was waiting for that !! I read things other than hunting forums from time to time . There were many news articles about this right after Sptizer aka client # 9 .
  16. Phone records ? Everyone that is involved in this sort of activity , on both sides uses, burner phones . High level escorts are verified through screening services , who then destroy records, same for the Johns . Each side then operates as a number or made up name . Of course famous people may be easily recognized . But to,use your real phone and not $20 burner , well then you're to dumb to run for dog catcher .
  17. I guess the inventor never realized he could just put a LCP or similar gun in his pocket, where it would not be seen and he'd have more bullets as well .
  18. Is this some sort of code, or Klingon language ?
  19. .22 and 270 those are the only two rifles I own. Someone else can have my third choice and pick four .
  20. That's nice, I get a can every once in awhile from a neighbor. I may make a run to Vermont but getting a case is iffy I hear .
  21. Question 20 seemed odd as it appeared to use dmap and nuisance permits interchangeably , when they are two separate systems. The response as to how they effected ones hunting seem way high. In fact nuisance permits only accounting for 5% of the deer take and dmaps around 7 to 8%and many like our farm use dmaps instead of getting doe tags , so in many cases it's not extra doe being killed. It seems hunters perceptions don't quite match up.
  22. Im a fan as well , how do you get a steady supply of Heady , living so far from Vermont ?
  23. I bet you have match sticks taped to your bow for pins as well ! Red and white is 20 yards Ohio blue tip is 30

    Lifelong

Sorry to hear this . Over the years there have been a few guys on the job who took their own life, by all outward appearances they had everything going for them , it's truely sad.
