There was about a140 and a 120 hanging at a C cabin not to long ago. Every cabin but one had deer hanging, and that one some of the guys filled their buck tags before heading to Letchworth.

Hum West of there is Pellet rd. I have 2 friends that live and own acres on that road. It's getting crowded with the Webster town program , I took,the first deer in the first year of that program btw.

I use the ones that come with the stands, my old HSS just sits. I tie my own Prusik on line I buy. It is Prusik btw it's his last name. I tie the loop with a double fisherman. For what it's worth I'm certified NYS intermediate level rope rescue. The key is to practice with your harness and line. Have you ever hung from it? Felt the thightness in the groin? Saw how the harness rides way up restricting arm movement? Training is key to whatever you use. Stay safe.

My grandparents lived behind us after kindergarten in 1,964 I was Over and my grandpa was cheering for the Cards in the World Series . They were the Roch red Wings parent team from the 20's to 1,960 I think. So ever since '64 I ve been a Cards fan ! I've been to St.Louis watched Bob Gibson pitch,Lou Brock steal bases to name a few . I like Boston because I'm a Yankee hater .

Don't own a 4 wheeler... So I walk in drag em out and struggle to toss em in the trunk of the Buick.

Not just you. The two times I lost deer in all my years of bow hunting, nobody knew but the guys who helped look , till now I guess. The times I had to go back in the AM and found it my wife was the only one to know. The last thing I'd do is announce on the World Wide Web. I can understand a new hunter with nobody to turn to asking what he should do , although a PM to experienced hunters might be the way to go in that case. For sure its generational younger guys post about their whole life all day. The antis make a big deal about bows wounding loss rate. Sure it's outdated data,slanted, and out right lies, but lets not give them up to date stats if we don't have to.

I was going to mention the pocket thing , that's how I did it. Today at 54 , cover up as much as possible.

Went down to move a stand and redo posted signs on south boarder. At 1 00 watched a decent 7 almost to ear tips cross open field and head into my thick cover. All I had was a 9mm and hatchet... Good luck.

I too,hope he got it. Awhile back I counted the deer on the kill report thread and searched all the " hit one" threads the ratio was not good.

I don't understand why people marry fat people,drive a Prius,drink light beer and A ton other things. I don't have to either if it makes them happy so be it.

Back when I was always looking for new spots, I'd run into owners who would say " I don't let people hunt the land". That was about the best thing I hoped to hear. My answer was always,I bet I can find stands and guys hunting it now you just don't know it, if you let me hunt it I'll keep the trespassers out, I'll be the bad guy for you , and you'll know who's in there. Did not always work, but only needed one.

No you don't, the deer don't turn their clocks back why should you ? I'm always off for 2 weeks then, don't set clocks till I go back to work. Bed around 10 ( tonight after the World Series) up around 5 or 5 30 .Also I really like going in as I can see a little ,the stands that are not in hedgerows are 10 to 30 yards at most into any hardwoods or thicket. I don't have to let anything "settle down" because I did not spook anything going in. Yes sometimes by what's in what field and where I may change approach or even stands,but that's an advantage as well.

I used to do the hour early thing,no more. I hunt basically an island in a sea of 100's of acres of crops. I found I spook far less deer out of the fields if I can actually see them as I walk the edges in. No more snorts in the dark or white flags running in the moon light.

Agree ,went to my neighbors spot for a quick sit. A little gusty on and off not high winds though. Of 3 of us we saw one deer.

Ok the Troopers are out looking for pot plants,training whatever and they see someone dragging a deer. Hey look I wonder of its a nice buck? Joe get closer I can't tell..... When you see them parked car to car on the highway they'er not plotting how to stop you for going ten over, they'er talking about the game,hunting, or complaining about their wives.

I'm a gonna be hunting. One year at party I was a deer,my wife a hunter.

Pre 9 10 AM looks not to bad. I was going to bag it altogether but a friend asked me to come hunt his spot ,I may do that. Don't have to drive ,won't care if I don't see anything. Hope for low winds early then go home. Then Sunday AM I ll hunt my spot, they just made one pass on corn( to muddy) but that makes access to a great stand easy for the first time. I work 3 nights between a week ago and nov. 20 th, so I'm a little more picky on when I go. Good luck! I went last night btw windy as all get out. Was hoping for it to drop off at last light.... It did not stayed high winds till dark at least as I drove off. Saw a grand total of 2 doe.
