I generally do my xmas shopping the 24th, sometimes as early as the 23rd. We'll visit church the 24th for the candlelight mass. The 25th is presents and a big breakfast for my wife and kids. Snooze and watch football then hit my sisters for the big family (my family) gathering. A very good time with great food, spirits and family.

Maybe if they were hanging around your neck they'd be closer to your body temp (a little closer) than if they were on your pack. Make sense? I always have mine around my neck, fairly high.

I wouldn't put the Rain X on them, it could damage any lens coatings that they might/should have. Sometimes I have to hold my binos back a bit or shorten my glassing session in cold or damp conditions. Are you breathing on them when they are in a resting position?

Boil it for a FEW days, is that a typo? I slow cook mine in a 5gal bucket with a heating element from a hot water tank that is made to heat buckets of water. Only cook for about 8 hours then another couple hours to scrape 'em clean. Hope you have a strong stomach........pulling eye balls & brains ain't for the weak.

Now it all becomes clear. Growie said in another thread that the guys trespassing on her place were shining flashlights up into the trees, possibly looking for (my inference) her tree stands. (The thread was about leaving your bow in the tree over night) Hell, they probably heard that someone had 36 stands up and JUST had to check it out!! With that much cash invested in tree stands you'd think she could afford to looose a bow or two! <grin> How the hell do you keep track of (thirty six) 36 stands? Just bustin on ya Growie!

Did you see the front page of the Rochester D&C a couple weeks ago? A poaching incident in the town of Canadice that ended with the poacher caught and going to the big house. I know the property owner & family. Some pretty dumb (surprised?) bad guys out there!
