Deep 6 Gander Goose Dung and bring in Sportsmans Warehouse.I have only been to a couple SW and they were pretty darn nice. I'm VERY fortunate that I have the Buffalo Gun Center close. If they don't have it, I'd be damned surprised. Their reloading selection is terrific. Bullets, powder, primers and tools for everything. Mind boggling the new guns in stock, handguns and long guns. And optics? You wouldn't believe it!

I'd call the State Police. They'll be glad to help. Welcome to the drama!!

Hey fasteddie, I hope you can connect before the season ends. I'll try and send some positive thoughts your way! Good Luck!

Anyone use a smart phone for the GPS feature???
Lawdwaz replied to Grizz1219's topic in General Hunting
I'm in the market for a new phone. What is the difference between the I phone 4s and 5? (I figured I'd ask while some of you tech savy guys are around!) -
Very nice job Elmo. Congrats and a hearty pat on the back. Don't let all that other gack derail this happy thread! I can't STAND it when that happens............ <grin>

Sounds like a good time to start reloading!!

Congrats.

Federal Premium type of loaded ammo or a cartridge. If your talking about switching to another brand of ammo, that I can't help you with. Grab a few different types and see how it shoots. What bullet is in your Federal Premium ammo?

IIRC last year I killed a doe whose bladder was so full it filled the entire pelvic area, I mean it was HUGE. I was lost on that one. I got it but lost some. There was just no way I could get my fingers around the area to pinch it off properly. Hey Dan, when these guys (web masters) throw the xmas party I'll need to show you something. I have been thinking of becoming a urologist and I believe I've perfected the prostate check. I call it the "no hands" method. LOL, hehehe & a big fat <grin>

I'm not surprised.

Dad and I shot a couple deer this past weekend and last night I had to skin, quarter and bone them out. Much to my surprise, dad left a little something onboard his while dressing................ Tight area to work in and I don't have a lot of dexterity in my fingers but I got it all out, never lost a drop! At least the heart & lungs were left to the critters.................

Really? You saw them shining their lights in the tree tops? Good heavens........................

Trigger Pull weight question?
Lawdwaz replied to HuntOrBeHunted's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
Good Lord NO! Are you nuts? Doc is spot on. Only thing I'd do is have a good gunsmith look at it or replace it. What gun are you talking about anyway? -
Lots of muddy hides from this fall! A friend in Ontario County had around 70 red fox, 80 coon and 8 coyotes as of a couple weeks ago. He takes the first couple weeks of deer season off of trapping but has been back at it now for a week or so. He's shooting for 100 fox and 10 coyotes via the trap line for the season. Then hunt coyotes with dogs during the winter and get a couple truck loads.
-
I'll bet (BIG MONEY) he doesn't pass them........

Since Doc already purchased his rifle.....

Switched bullets.. I think i like em
Lawdwaz replied to NYbuck50's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
I want to clarify something......by the way things were said early on in this thread, I figured that by "fragment" you guys meant more like detonate and end up with complete bullet failure. Pieces all over the place!! Sure, a petal or two could possibly shear off but that doesn't happen to often. If that did happen, the rest of the solid copper would stay intact. Has that deer been cut up yet? -

The bullet did not fragment. Can't happen with a Barnes. Do some media testing and see if you can get one to "fragment" I've done a bit of it over the years and never could get one to blow up. Any posibility a Ballistic Tip got into your magazine? -
I'll give it a run towards the end of the week. Don't know if it'll be in Ontario, Wyoming or Erie County but regardless it will be over for sure next Tuesday at sunset. Muzzleloader will be my implement of choice.

No porcupines in Ontario County and squirrels are sound sleepers. Nothing is going to eat your bow, nobody will steal it. People don't go around at night looking UP INTO TREES WITH A FLAShLIGHT AT NIGHT, maybe a coon hunter but not too many of them anymore. If I get a belly ache and can't make it back, no worries, I still have friends that'll bail me out and fetch it for me. Wooly, what's with the wife comment?

Life is full of risk. The truck is always open, keys in the ash tray. Wallet? I don't carry one, too afraid I'll loose it.
