  1. i think it's fairly easy to determine the difference between 1.5, 2.5 and 3.5+ and really that's all we should be looking at. Mature or immature.
  2. yeah it's not for the serious, but larger than you'd think. Will take a 20 pound turkey. I justified it this way, My propane grill was nothing more than scrap and I wanted an electric smoker and this fit the bill nicely, plus the option to charcoal grill which I love was a bonus.

  5. Got her setup this past weekend. Broke in the charcoal Sunday and the propane tonight. Smoker will take her maiden voyage this weekend. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. i am no therapist and am completely unqualified to even comment on the subject, but I do suspect that those with those kind of minds may need it the most. We all have tough times in our lives. It's when these thoughts are swirling nonstop in my head that I seem to benefit the most from the woods. It's sort of like letting the record play and get to the end without interruption or conclusion. There is no resolution of course, but my mind at least sort of exhales a little and the pressure feels reduced. but we're all different
  7. Unique for a reason maybe? To each their own I guess. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. So tractor supply said they had clover in stock. I don’t see any so I ask a lady and she proceeds to lecture me about how that stuff isn’t planted till the fall and that they do have some mineral blocks and bags of corn available. Wtf... Anyhow Being out of options I used a bag of 7 year old clover and chicory mix lol. Oh well it did t cost me anything. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  11. To simply be quiet, and sit still, is to force oneself to coexist with the thoughts that enter one’s head when the silence descends. -translated to "woods therapy"
  12. what about fawn suckling on her momma's teet?
  13. wait a second... your ~50 mile spread is the distance between Rochester and Pembroke.
  14. that's when i would argue they should shoot a doe. My uncle still has this "i gotta get my buck" mentality even if it's a spike or a 3. It doesn't make him happy, it's just this thing he has. Kind of annoys me, but it is what it is. I also have buddies who complain that they never see any bucks, but blast away at doe. A decent percentage of the bucks I've killed have come on the heels of doe or have been lurking nearby and I'd have never seen the buck if I blasted the doe.
  15. did the same with some branches hanging over my driveway. Best way to solve a poop problem is remove the toilet seat
  16. I did a poll a while back about what most of us thought was harder, deer or turkey and i'm pretty sure it was a landslide for turkey. Blast away. If we want to debate anything, I think it's fall hens.
  17. would it be the worst thing if they set out on their own and make it? I know they probably have no learned knowledge, but instincts and no real natural predators should be helpful.
  18. I don't know if i've ever been truly upset about a deer I shot, if anything i've been upset with myself for a bad shot or decision. I think it's ok to be a little let down that you took a smaller deer than you would have liked. Nothing wrong with feeling the way you do as long as the meat doesn't go to waste. this is where the lines get blurry, because I would agree that if you know you have a long season and have every intention of a lot of hunting and you have a feel for the kind of deer your property holds, you really should try and hold out. If not for anything, but for an excuse for more woods time. But all those variables need to be in play. For some hunters and properties that's a shot you don't pass up despite the time of year. One of my top 5 came the second day i was in the archery woods. He was a nice 8 and I knew that I might not get another opportunity at a buck like him so I took it. Conversely, the year my oldest was born I knew my woods time was going to be limited and I shot a small 5 early on despite knowing bigger deer were around. Heck, 30 seconds after I flung an arrow at the 5 a decent 8 came up right behind him for a shot broadside at 10 yards. That's hunting lol.
  19. another great video. PETA might even be ok with you putting that guy out of his misery. Do you think he escaped a trap or any idea what was up with his leg?
  20. She does blow... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. except one of his campaign promises to legalize weed apparently haha
  22. you forgot to add "while watching old boxing matches on youtube"
  23. i carry based on the season. colder weather is my glock23 IWB and summer is usually lcp pocket. I carry the IWB at what I suppose would be 4:00 if my johnson is 12:00. its the most comfortable and accessible with the least amount of printing i think. Only issue is that I have to take it out when driving and I'm not a huge fan of having to expose the gun more than I need to. I use a galco kingtuk for the IWB and a desantis superfly for the pocket. I also have a belt clip locking blackhawk serpa for the glock and 1911 if i'm out in the woods and not worried about cc. Really like these holsters, they're durable and the locking feature is great.
