  1. We went out for a nice dinner Saturday and then cooked yesterday. Then I took the girls shopping.
  2. Ginsberg is in poor health too, she may be next. Depending on the timing of when this all plays out we could be in a better place or much worse. Time will tell.
  3. Who's the lucky fella? Oh never mind I'll look it up in FB.
  4. Wood stove, I'm buying a splitter this year after doing 12+ cord of log length last year (half split by hand) I am looking forward to a smaller amount this year and a quality machine to help. Luckily I have some trees to take down so I won't have to buy the logs this year but I do plan on getting a compact tractor to help.
  5. Our two fuzzy dogs don't mind the cold but the Fench Bulldog needs a sweater inside on chilly days so days like this are not her favorite.
  6. I'll be out with my son, I'm looking forward to it and will work hard to get him his bird. Can't wait.
  7. It depends on breed and feed, most are not too old, say a year or less. I thought about raising a pig for meat but decided the smell and work involved wasn't worth it for me at this point.
  8. Actually they are an hour north of Albany. I'm not sure of their size though.
  9. I got one at 191 yards so I'm better than you. Actually I have never ranged a shot with the ML but most likely the farthest would be 80ish yards with my Lyman and open sights.
  10. We just got a new one after 8 years, the old one was over loaded with pictures. The new one has more umph and we added an external hard drive to back up too. I have turned on the new "all in one" one time in a month..lol
  11. An IPhone ain't bad, I thought about a point and shoot but the phone is as good or better than most cheaper cameras. Hey Wooly my pops just picked up a Dslr 7200, I think he had about shot through his other camera already.
  12. It should help as long as it warms up during the days eventually. Cold at night and warmer days make sap run, I can't wait for our little operation to begin again this year.
  13. I actually passed on a few this year, and didn't hunt gun season much for a few good reasons and now my freezer is empty. My brother got a buck in 4s and a doe in 4f.
  14. I started reloading after reading up on it here believe it or not. Here is the Reloading section on the page. http://huntingny.com/forums/forum/70-reloading/ Here is a post Culver made from 2012 with a list of items to consider. I think I go into it for @700 total when I started out but I got a progressive press. NEED I think http://www.midwayusa...gton?cm_vc=OBv1 I like these dies for a rifle becasue is give you full length sizing and neck sizing. ...for each caliber http://www.midwayusa...ton?cm_vc=sugv1 I factory crimp everything I use. I shortens case life but increases accuracy and gives a positive bullet seat. IMO....for each rifle caliber http://www.midwayusa...ret?cm_vc=sugv1 Turret Plate for each caliber you want to reload http://www.midwayusa...ster?cm_vc=OBv1 Trim Guage for each caliber Off the top of my head I can't think of anything else I got to start....of course that list always grows. I am sure I forgot something but maybe the other guys can add to the list. I tried to show what was needed and what is nice to have. Oh forgot...brass, bullets, primers and powder....step one is read...read...then read some more before you start. It isn't hard to do it is just detailed and you shoulndn't be distracted when doing it. Edited by Culvercreek hunt club, 28 November 2012 - 11:08 AM
  15. I have two different wool coats, one is very heavy when loaded up (and warm), I reserve that for real cold days. The other is lighter and easier on the back.
  16. You asked for it... On the retrieve . Honoring in the back yard 10/1 opener out back A little water work Last week
  17. Animal rights basically trump constitutional rights unfortunately. The case in the link I posted shows that, all it took was someone turning the farmer in for insufficient shelter and saying his animals weren't fed properly and he then had to defend himself in court for the next year. Even though it was all BS.
  18. It's not exactly a young mans hobby to get in to sometimes. It takes a devotion of time and money and a lot of younger guys don't have either of those.
  19. Mine requires no electric and is just a regular wood stove. Weird The bigger issue is how dry the wood is, not what it is burnt in but don't tell the EPA that. lol
  20. Two Wirehaired pointing Griffon's currently, 36, been into bird dogs for @6 years now. We plan on getting into breeding next.
  21. The USA has proved that you can say or do anything and still be considered a presidential candidate.

    What

We eat together every night unless something major is going on. I guess that doesn't happen as much anymore by the sounds of it?
  23. Shouldn't this be in the politics section? Anyway, I am thrilled to see Trump loose. Lets hope he doesn't get the nod because if he does the Dems are in.

    Arrows

Regarding weight, not all Carbon arrows are super light. I prefer a heavy arrow and my carbon arrows match if not exceed the weight of my aluminum I used to shoot.
