  1. How long until a back ground check is required for one of these things. I can see their value in the southern part of the state.
  2. Bundy isn't a Patriot of any sorts, he is looking for attention and a hand out. He used the Hammonds as the initial reason but they wanted nothing to do with Bundy. Then they claim to do it for the ranchers and many in the town want them to leave. Woodchuck if you believe things you see on the internet I caution you to take anything you see with a grain of salt, especially things posted on this site. I say hand the land over to Bundy and then hand him a tax bill. He is a joke/welfare rancher, not a patriot.
  3. These guys too. I know the area, loaded with Hare's. https://www.cedarridgeoutfitters.com/coyote-and-snowshoe-hare.html
  4. 37 flushed in Maine over three days, plus two Snowshoe hare. 6 flushed while bird hunting in NY, @20 while deer hunting (7 Saturday). Didn't do great on Woodcock this year, dogs pointed @24 but the flight was late this year and my vacation wasn't unfortunately.
  5. You made things way worse by moving the rest, buy or borrow broadheads that don't hit the riser. Your bow/rest is now dramatically out of tune. http://www.archeryhistory.com/archerytalk/The_Nuts&Bolts_of_Archery.pdf
  6. My effective range is 99-103 yards and I prefer a running Texas heart shot to any thing else. It's challenging to get the conditions just right.
  7. I will bet this doe only idea will be more palatable when the DEC announces a short gun season in the middle of bow next season.
  8. CX Piledriver 450's, 13.6 GPI, 30" arrow, 100gr BH, pushed by 70#.
  9. Another vote for the Franchi. 16g are so 1970, the Franchi will work just fine. I'd add an AL 48 to my collection any day. I prefer 26" barrel but my A5 I bought last fall has 28" tubes and swings nice.
  10. That gun sounds like a pos, I'll take it off your hands for $500. I'd pay more but it doesn't group worth a s#&$. Pm if interested.
  11. Have any of you taken five minutes to read the website Wooly posted a link to? No where will you see Gun control even mentioned at all. It's about paying attention to... Ah never mind back to the hate talk. Screw Tim McGraw!!!
  12. Our sap just started running again today, it's been too dang cold to run for about two weeks. This week should be good.
  13. Here a couple of guys that know their stuff, but, there are GSP breeders everywhere so do your research. http://www.baconhillkennel.com http://a-teamgundogtraining.com I would also recommend hitting a Navhda training day to see what you are in for. Here is chapter closer to you. http://hvnavhda.org
  14. I don't go much but will most likely use the A5. I have a few other choices too, tough life. ????
  15. Illegal in NY. no opinion on them. Q: Can I use an electronic call for coyote and other furbearer hunting? A: Yes. You may NOT use an electronic call for turkey, ducks or geese.
  16. Actually you might be surprised, we are set to go to an on demand room service system in a few weeks and our retail cafe is damn good. It ain't your old hospital food any more. Plus I have a chef that does all that, I don't work in the kitchen at all.
  17. Mike perhaps DEC reached out to DU for help with SAV then? I was encouraged after reading DEC's plan further.
  18. Did laboring for a framing crew then switched to restaurants during college as I went for Culinary arts. Worked a few of those places while moving up through the ranks (quickly). About ten years ago I started with my current company managing food service and house keeping and now I run the show for a smallish sized hospital doing the same. Never a dull moment and constantly busy and I love it.
  19. DEC states they are looking for waterfowlers input before even thinking about a hunting season, DU would give them that input and the all to important help in convincing non-hunters this is necessary.
  20. Looks like the DEC was flooded with comments from Swan lovers after reading through that. No surprise there and I'm also not surprised by the lack of comments from hunters and conservationists,
  21. "During the review process, DEC met with a variety of statewide stakeholder groups, including the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology, Ducks Unlimited, NYS Fish and Wildlife Management Board, Humane Society of the U.S., NYS Conservation Council, NYS Invasive Species Advisory Committee and USDA Wildlife Services." Look who was listed first on that list of stake holders, I find this sad and a sign of things to come. Between that and politicians deciding game laws we are screwed.
  22. We went once this year, then the ice got too thick for my hand auger. we got a mix of small pan fish and one 3-4 pound large mouth on Ballston Lake.
  23. I hear Wooly urinates on roofs, same idea just takes longer between whiz's.
  24. We have a snow catcher/ice maker roof (hip roof and sky lite and cathedral ceiling) it got me about a month ago during all the storms here but I have been on top of it since then. Nothing a ladder and shovel won't cure along with calcium chloride in a pair of stockings. It was like a north east country song, my snow blower broke, my back hurt and my roof leaked all at the same time. My wife sent me a text from the roof, she got stuck up there out of fear and dropped her shovel...lol
  25. Can we get this put into the politics section too? Clogging up my feed
