  1. Good you swayed her opinion and corrected her wrongful understandings. I'm with the others in that hunters shouldn't be segregated. Most of us don't have a generalization backed by enough hard facts. Only what we've seen or KNOW of other hunters doing which is a drop in the bucket compared to the general hunting population. I'll lean it at that because I wasn't there and to job to conclusions of what exactly what was said would be wrong.
  2. Heard great things about the cabelas commercial grinders. I use my dads that's over 30 years old but it's a Hobart which you'll pay for.
  3. Not sure I think the take would go up a little going to gun.
  4. cabelas.... 6 rolls twenty foot long or a 50' roll
  5. Did everything on pots on the back deck this year. As I've been really busy. Sounds about like yours. No zucchini but flowered.
  6. Doe you got there is definitely a heavy one
  7. At my parents farm nobody will shoot any doe. I get a couple every year. There's some heavy old ones. Last year I shot one and hung it in my garage with a scale. It read 150lbs dressed before I ran out of pull rope and her legs were still propped on the floor.
  8. their while on a hunt warranty speaks to their customer service.
  9. they aren't because of the angle of the fixed blades
  10. don't know. only way I know is to do a trail cam or scouting survey.
  11. just license now I think. picked up a bulk roll of vacuum seal bags. ground blinds were worn out and broke so I bought one to replace two.
  12. Out skirts at the boarder of 4j would be a grey area that I'm talking about. Not a problem. Just saying there's a difference.
  13. There's a big difference between some other counties and Albany. There aren't much for big sections of woods and places with people or structure. Any gun rifle or shotgun can be a problem. Might as well be a rifle. One idea would be to limit caliber and bullet weight. They could even you pistol cartridge rifles like some states. Regardless safety is required more so than other less populated counties. At least when talking 4j.
  14. Yup scent blocker still here.
  15. Yea I don't get too exited unless it's a pic in sept. It's not a bad buck though. Hope you see him.
  16. As a member of the a sporting club in NY we all share a common interest even if most interests are different. There are other topics to discuss and dirt on Cuomo that goes with it all. This is about sportsman clubs across the state realizing we must act now or eventually our club activities will become too expensive or restricted by law so much so they will fade away. Clubs generations old taking part in traditions with family, friends, and community will die off until there are none left. Our club for example has multiple outdoor events and competitions, many youth and outdoorsman education classes, many safety and skill related shooting classes, program for good and welfare to those in the community who've experienced loss or illness, involvement for conservation, environment related involvement (adopt a highway), and among many other examples donate to many charities. I'm sure your clubs are the same. Is hate to think communities across the state would begin to lose this. Clubs trying to simply function are burdened in many ways under the governorship of Cuomo and the situation this state is in, not just from the SAFE Act.
  17. I don't hunt out there too far usually. so just a sports bottle with something like Gatorade, a sandwich bag full of jerky, field size bottle of scent control spray, wind checker/puffer, folding hunting knife, tp, field dressing gloves, and flashlight. don't need a pack as it usually fits in my clothing pockets. deep back woods/Adirondacks it'd be same, minus scent spray for bug spray, add in more jerky or Cliff bars, more water, magnesium fire stick, cotton/Vaseline balls in film canister, manageable rope, pocket set allen wrenches or small multi purpose screw driver, couple cheese cloth meat sacs, tin can, small saw, and small 5x6 tarp. ....pack to put it in.

if he was busy and said it might take a while then I'd understand. definitely should've been a different experience for you.
  19. good deal. it's definitely supposed to be fun and it'll make anyone a better shot with a bow.
  20. others and myself where I hunt are going to have to learn how to do this sufficiently eventually. it'll take time and some will put more effort into it than others. we'll all have to figure it out though given the direction we're going.
  21. July 20, 2014 To all Sportsman clubs and their members, My name is Gary Hebert and I am president of the North Troy Stag Rod and Gun Club. With over 500 members, we are located in northern Rensselaer County, upstate New York. Like your club, our membership is made up of Democrats, Republicans and Independents who have all been impacted by the SAFE Act and eroding gun rights. As a body of roughly 6,000,000 gun owners in NYS we can make history by working together and removing Governor Andrew Cuomo from office. Here are some grass roots things we can all do to leverage our collective power: • Register to vote - and vote! • Help other gun owners register to vote and even offer a ride to the polls. • Talk to all gun owners, particularly those who sometimes just don’t get around to voting. This is a very important fringe group and they could be persuaded to support a common cause and maybe even cast the deciding vote. • Stay aware of pending legislation such as micro-stamping. • Support Rob Astorino for governor with your vote and financial support. If every gun owner donated $5.00 to his campaign then there would be a level playing field. Simply stated, Rob Astorino needs money to beat Andrew Cuomo and we can help. Send financial support to: Rob Astorino for Governor PO Box 14 South Salem, NY 10590 Or call 914-481-3672 You may also donate on-line @ www.astorinoforgovernor.com I can’t overstate the importance of this issue and the collective power we have. Pass this along to your club members, friends and neighbors. Then have them pass it along. Put this in your own words, do what you have to do, but stick to your guns and get the word out! Thank You, Gary Hebert (518) 663-5463 Club Mail: PO Box 272 Cohoes, NY 12047 Club GPS Address: 165 Cushman Rd. Melrose, NY www.northtroystag.org
