thanks for sharing your story... I really like my Tactacam.. I have the origninal but there are newer versions like 3.0, 4.0... comes with bow mount and gun mount. I am considering tree mounting a camcorder in addition to the Tactacam for zoom capabilities..

Beautiful dogs swamp bucks.... Lots of amazing people on this forum I'm confident you will find a family in a hurry. Unfortunately I live close to the city and my beagle mix doesn't run as much as he would like either..

In WNY... Best of luck. Welcome to the lifestyle

I think the savage trophy hunter 111 is a fantastic gun however rarely under $500.. Can catch it on sale for 450 sometimes. Nikon bdc is best scope in its price range IMO. Axis and American will be in your price range what about remington 700 or 770 with a synthetic stock?

Lol... Word is a few 2 and 3 year old bucks made it through the season where I hunt... A 2.5 year old with a broken lower leg during the season was recently seen healthy and putting pressure on the leg. Can't wait til bow!!

Been looking at drones for a couple years now. Was hoping to use during summer months to keep an eye on fields, and yes watching the deer movement but also to monitor for trespassers, watch my stands, etc. Illegal to use for hunting purposes? Someone enlighten me please.

I hope to someday bowhunt the rut in the midwest! Iowa, Kansas, Illinois.... taking down a 300 lb whitetail would be unbelieveable.. As for fishing, the Finger Lakes handle my bass fishing addiction just fine

That's a complicated question. I've harvested 2 mature bucks in 10 years hunting WNY in very small private spots.. One 141", the other 138".. Both at least 4.5 yo... Have taken younger and smaller bucks as well... I think it's a combination of having an understanding with your neighbors, being very patient, keeping your scent out of bedding and giving them their "sancuary," maybe passing on bucks for a whole year or two and only taking does, and just plain old getting lucky. IMO it's unreasonable to consistently kill mature bucks year after year without changing locale.

UA cold gear. Icebreaker merino. No cotton!

These are all great goals i see so far. My goal would be to time the rut better. I took a couple days off this year to hunt with my xbow but missed the rut.. Saw some intense stuff but was a few days early for that all day movement... Also, would like to accomplish an all day sit during bow. Got my buck during gun...

Wow that's a good day ice fishin.... Don't think I've ever had perch before.. I give you a lot of credit, I used to put out tip-ups and head back inside. Enjoy!

My answer is no. I think he put only 1 shot through the vitals. That deer was riddled with bullets before dying. This is far from what I consider hunting. These sorta videos should be pulled. Must make this guy feel real tough doing that to the animal...

This is Enzo he is a 6 year old beagle/pug. "Puggle" Despite his beer belly he is very agile and athletic. Good family/outdoor dog. If you say rabbit he's gone with his nose down!!

Doesnt matter the deer problem, the deer are ultimately owned by the state. He should be punished to the max. Btw i have lyme disease along with millions of others..

Take the course and get out there TF.... I simply enjoy seeing the deer in their natural patterns, not to mention the weather is so much more pleasant during bow versus freezing winds and snow. You will also come to realize just how many more people are in the woods come gun season!! It's kind of scary actually. Unfortunately I do not own my own property... Good luck -
I have an app called "whitetail deer calls" there's like 20 different calls.. I really have only used doe bleats and doe contact calls which are nice and short 2-3 seconds long...... there is a nice grunt that I used this year to a 2.5 year old buck about 50 yds away when I forgot my grunt tube one night.. he lowered his head and trashed a small tree in front of me but didn't come any closer than 50 yds.. pretty cool experience

WHOA... drooling over here.... I can almost smell it through the computer screen

IMO....... Goodfellas, The Departed, Dumb and Dumber, Gladiator, Fight Club, Back to the Future franchise... The Godfather was before my time as I was born in 1987

CENTERPOINT SNIPER 370 CROSSBOW REVIEW
JRod 8G8H replied to TheFieldArcher's topic in CrossBow Hunting
It's the "gun mount" that Tactacam sells, set right on top of the scope.. A slight challenge getting it onto that stock scope but once you tighten it in it's pretty secure -
CENTERPOINT SNIPER 370 CROSSBOW REVIEW
JRod 8G8H replied to TheFieldArcher's topic in CrossBow Hunting
I shoot the same set up... I actually use a short bungee cord as a xbow sling on my way in and out of my stand. That way when i am climbing i can hook it to my ladder platform easily and climb safely the rest of the way then pull it up.. Also, i was able to get my tactacam mounted right above the scope. Takes great video. Good luck -
That's what we call a survivor right there. He'll be a nice buck next year!
