  1. Easy... Deer, late bow.. Bucks are cruising.. Really was hoping to see intense rut activity with my xbow last year but the rut was late in my area, 8H
  2. You're gonna have some great experiences out there for sure. I always save some of my time off for bow season! Good luck
  3. My friend loves cutting trees down around his stand thinking he's gonna have more lanes. Me on the other hand I try and brush in both my ladder and behind me, especially if the tree is narrow or there is sky behind me.. now that I'm in my 30s I only use ladder stands... I would get the closer spot and secure some brush around you.
  4. I discharge into a target after a sit. Took a 46 yd shot at a buck last year.. Missed as he jumped. That's about max for me, 45 yds with my sniper 370.. With my Mathews about 35 yds.. Make sure you shoot broadheads out of the xbow as they fly dramatically different than field points, in my experience. I shoot muzzy trocar which the flight is very similar...
  5. Thinking of going for an Ozinics... Been considering one for years. Thoughts? I bow hunt and xbow hunt hard and do MOST of the right things the old school way.. Wash my clothes weekly, get in and out of my stands undetected, play the wind entering the woods, hang some stinkers occasionally, wipe my boots, etc. A couple of my stands I have deer come from all directions...
  6. I dont own bow hunting clothes for 90 degree weather lol... Hopefully we get some cold mornings soon!!
  7. Great idea thanks.... my cousins are new to hunting and will need this... and you guys are right those tacks don't last very long do they
  8. Muzzy Trocar here, very sharp and have always passed through especially shoulder blades... I am considering the grim reapers based on their awesome reviews. I have used Rage but never had the chance at a deer.. I see like 1 in 10 or 20 reviews say it failed and I was sick of messing with the blades and ring..
  9. Been using Cabela's Wooltimate series.. highly recommended... It's a blend but real warm given the light weight
  10. None... I have permission to hunt on a 15 acre piece, 5 acre piece, and a farmer's 200 acre piece. And I consistently see the most deer and best bucks on the 5 acre property. The 15 acres is sufficient for a small sancuary, food plot, travel corridors, and for you to get in and out undetected. The 5 acres forget it.. you're either in stand before the deer move through or you might as well go back to bed cause it's a travel corridor between swamp and food
  11. Soutwest buffalo to orlando non-stop round trip... I live in rochester and drive to buffalo to get a deal and non-stop flight.. I usually can get direct going down but coming back up sometimes has a stop...
  12. I think that's great. My grandparents ended up in WNY because there was work here. My grandma's family is Genovese which also influenced them to move to WNY and away from the stereotypes. It's amazing to see you doing wine like that, look at all the other forum members admiring your hard work... I can remember my uncles bringing their jugs of wine over, I'm sure a lot of other members on here can remember that too!!
  13. My family is from Palermo.. A couple generations ago now as I'm 30 yrs old and my grandparents are 93 and 87. I've always said I would do my own wine, I think your tradition there has inspired me!!
  14. Otto.... my family is sicilian and our last name is Oddo. Are we related? Lol... Love the set up.. Salud
  15. Cricket here for me... really really affordable and I'm pretty sure they use AT&T cell towers. Not too bad signal reception, I get signal everywhere I hunt.. I notice I may lose signal in a large metal store like Dick's which is annoying but tolerable
  16. I've had good luck with Lacrosse I have Alpha Burly 1000 that i can wear Nov and Dec comfortably.
  17. Man you got me, but that was great... I definitely would've stole her groceries
  18. Awesome pics... Haven't seen a buck posture in couple months! Looks like Next year you're gonna have some real Nice shooters
  19. Very sorry for your loss. Thanks for sharing your story
  20. i think in the next video the t-rex gun should have a scope.... lol imagine the facial injuries
  21. Took my stands out last weekend that was a sad day.... Tons of deer sign everywhere especially buck sign from the 2nd rut. Golf keeps my mind occupied until the bow season. But yes i constantly am thinking of different trees to switch to, looking at aerial views of the properties, how to get in and out undetected, reading and shopping for gear, figuring out how to hide my new gear from my fiance, etc. Totally addicted
  22. Property looks and sounds great. I hunt 5 acres in 8H and sometimes see 3 up to 23 deer per sit. Our 12 acres in 8G is perfect size for a couple stands, perfect to sneak in and out undetected, and still give some neighborhood deer a sanctuary and bedding area. Look forward to seeing your plots too. Looks like a winner. Good luck
