On our trip back from Ohio two years ago we stopped in a gas station/convenience store in Ohio. I always take a poke around just to see what they are selling and I found gloves very similar to those, I think they were $6. Mine are blaze orange and brown rubber. I bought a pair and liked them so much I made sure to stop at the same gas station a year later. I bought the 4 pairs they had on the shelf then. They do last about 3 or 4 months, using them to move or split firewood does tear them up, but they are pretty durable. The ones you have look about the same. It’s a good find!

What would you pay for this snowmobile?
Otto replied to mowin's topic in ATV's , UTV's, Dirtbikes & Snowmobiles
Fan cooled, perfect for ice fishing. $3000 to 3500. Even with occasional dealer service, non-use can be as bad as abuse. -
Sincere condolences to you, your sister and your entire family.

Rob, nice looking plate, love those beans!

Very easy to use! Don’t daddle on this dibble......

For those of you planting small seedling trees, this is the perfect tool for the job. Push it in with your foot, wiggle it back and forth a few times to create a V shaped pocket. Remove tool and push it in 3 or 4 inches away, place tree seeding in ground at proper level, be sure roots are all in the hole and pointing down. Wiggle the dibble, now in its second location, back and forth to push dirt onto the tree roots. Once you've done a few it is very easy and quick to plant lots of trees. Can also be used for many other transplants and bulbs, etc. $35 plus shipping. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

I have that Phirana Bar and it’s awesome! Whole different implement and I think it was less than $200.

I bought this one at Runnings this fall, used it once and it worked pretty good. Seems sturdy. https://www.runnings.com/hme-products-bone-saw-with-scabbard-bsws.html

Did you marinate like you would with a beef flank steak? Looks really good, I have mine whole as well, but was saving for grilling season.

Anyone shooting any indoor archery over the winter
Otto replied to rob-c's topic in General Chit Chat
I shoot at Wildwod Sports Center in Elbridge, NY. They have leagues every weekday evening, and are usually pretty busy on weekends too. The Friday evening leuage is co-ed. The targets are 20 yards. I shoot on Thursday, about half the guys shoot traditional. If you shoot compound, your score is lowered by a percentage to help compare to the traditional shooters. It’s a great group of guys and I look forward to it every week. -

I did not know Utica was still USA made. I will look for them. I am on the search for a “Walleye Special” knife made by Schroeder, which I think was. Wade in nearby New Hartford. I live within 2 miles of the original Camillus factory (now an apartment building) and have given them as gifts several times. There is a little store across the street from the old factory that sells vintage Camillus’s knives, I try to stop in 3 or 4 times a year. He always has a great selection and will sharpen your knives for you too. My Dad sold Camillus knives in our farm supply and I have quite a few that were given to me for working for a weekend or afternoon. He also had one in his pocket all the time, and I have several of those too. I really need to make a nice display for them or something. They are just sitting in a box in a closet now.

Looks like red oak with discoleration, and like dbHunterNY said above probably from the center of the log. You can see the “rays” in the grain, if the lumber was harder sawn, than rays would be more visible. We have lots of cherry trees on our property and had several made into lumber. The cabinet maker would not take them because they were very discolored from growing in soil that had shale in it. Lots of black steaks in the lumber, it all ended up in the wood stove. Depending on what you are making, you could always trim that part out. Do you have any other pieces to use?
