  1. Yes, a guide is required for a non-resident to hunt moose...However, my friend who lives up there happens to be a licensed guide...
  2. Good luck, Rob !! I did not draw my NB tag again as usual....
  3. Happy birthday to one of the most genuine of this forum's members.... Since it is now fishing season, I hope you get your pole varnished....Hehehe....
  4. Gol Durn VERMIN....!! Kill 'em ALL !! Where's the deer farmer when you need him ??
  5. WAAAAY cool, Wooly...I have seen pileated woodpeckers screw, but have never seen the results in the nest.. When you posted that title, I thought you might have some pictures of our illustrious Governor's offspring...
  6. Damn predators should all be SHOT !! Where the hell is the deer farmer when you need him ??
  7. PURTY fish, Chris.....<<smile>>...
  8. It is good for spawning rainbows and landlocks, but it is the wrong time of year for that...Cayuta is less than an hours drive and comes highly recommended by one of my fly fishing buddies, although I have never fished it myself...
  9. Mayfies carrying egg sacks perhaps ? The wings look like mayfly wings..
  10. Smallies will be hot, for C/R.... Hopefully some perch and rockies to filet for supper...Bluegills should be bedding, for lots of shallow water action, and more luscjous filets, if the boys want to clean them...I'd also like to try jig up a laker or two for TC and me...A few years ago it would be a slam dunk, but since the sawbellies tanked, jigging lakers is a bit more hit/miss than it used to be....
  11. If I needed a 1" group, I'd have to have throw away my best hunting rifle, the one that has killed many game animals all over North America in the last 40 years.... It is a push feed Winchester M70 in .280 Rem, and on it's BEST day it might group 1.5" at 100 yards, but 1 3/4 to 2" is more the norm... "Cloverleaf" type accuracy is nice for bragging rights, but not necessary for a hunting rifle...
  12. Not me, Fasteddie….I always leave some TP visible so I don't step in it if I should come that way again soon....
  13. I would take it out again and shoot a couple of 3 shot groups...If they are 1.5" or under, I would be very satisfied..Good hunting accuracy... If not, I'd play around with some other bullet weights, such as 150 grain or 165 grain...
  14. Sounds great, especially if you have a DMP you can sign over to me …<<grin>>…..
  15. Just be careful you don't trip and knock it off its platform.....Hehehe....
  16. Those are PURTY lakers….Much prettier than our more silverish Finger Lakes version..
  17. Have at 'em boys !! I am sleeping IN..At least until 6:00 AM or so...
  18. I heard a few roost gobbles...Seems the bird I was hunting was roosting on the neighbors this morning... The fat lady sang, and I was there at noon to listen to her...This is only the 3rd season since 1975 that I have not killed a gobbler in NY, and the other 2 seasons I could have killed some jakes...Only had one gobbler in range and things did not work out right... No shots fired...No hits, no swings, no errors....Glad the season is over, so I can get some fishing in...
  19. I'll be out in the morning....I'm sure my bird has girlfriends, but at least he is gobbling....I'll be there until noon, unless I get lucky earlier...
  20. Happy birthday, My Friend !! For an ugly old fart, you sure have a good looking girlfriend and dog !! <<grin>>….
  21. I'd love to see you most anytime, My friend, but if you show up here prior to June first, I'll shoot the tires off that sissy truck of yours......Hehehehe….
  22. I'm still out there the next two mornings....Finally have some gobbling....Got two more days to work on him....
  23. Happy birthday, Good Buddy...Let's go fishing....<<GRIN>>...
