  1. My 2011 f150 ecoboost got 22 hwy 17-18 city stock. After bigger tires a level kit and full replacement front bumper it dropped to around 18-19 hwy 15-16 city. Was a great truck though. Tons of power and a huge comfortable cab. Beat it pretty hard and never had any trouble. Traded it in December for a Limited Expedition for the wife. That thing gets like 13.5 city 18 hwy. gas guzzler but the fancy interior sure is nice Also just picked up a 2010 VW Jetta TDI on Monday for me. I'm loving this car, especially the fuel mileage! Averaging about 55mpg! Real nice interior and rides great. Definatly recommend one to anyone who drives a lot.
  2. Wow. Karma worked quick on that guy! Too bad it wasn't so swift with everyone else lol
  3. They are using that mixture everywhere. Not just small towns in LI. Look for the plastic 1000 gallon drums sitting next to the salt barns along the thruway...says beet juice and something else too. they use it down south as well. Supposed to be used to help reduce the amount of salt we lay down. The mixture stinks though...drive behind one of the sprayer trucks you'll see what I mean lol
  4. I'm thankful to have a new job that I get a nice laboratory that's AC in summer and heated for winter! No more killing myself outside anymore!
  5. Propane is so up and down its nuts. The prices aren't regulated like oil. My father in law delivers fuel oil and has thought about getting into propane also. Another business in the same down does only propane and they are crazy with the prices. Call at 10am then call again at 2 and the price could double. Owner charges whatever he feels like. I have several friends who get propane from this guy and they all have to haggle for a decent price. Its so bad that calling for a delivery in the morning you will get quoted one price and when they show up a couple hours later the price is way higher!
  6. I owned a early build date 2011 F150 Ecoboost and had 74K great miles with it. Truck was solid. The ecboost engine is a beast. Phade you'd have to research more than wiki because there's no detonation on regular gas. Other than a tank of premium every couple months I ran regular for the majority of my time with it. I used and abused that truck too. The ecoboost ate up all my buddies chevys and dodges and tundras. Fast truck and the mpg was great till I put on oversized tires and a ranch hand bumper. I actually think the 2.7L ecoboost will be a great engine. I would really like to see a bigger ecoboost. But I've heard rumors of a bigger caliber engine in the works.
  7. Wow. That's awesome. I went to the link above and sent them a comment thanking them
  8. Selling my Hoyt Rampage XT. Light use and in great shape. Custom string. Spot Hawg Tommy Boy single pin sight. QAD drop away rest. Hoyt 2 piece quiver. Carbon blade stabilizer. Comes in a plastic Plano case. Bow shoots great. Looking to get $400 for it. Will take pictures tommorw and post them on here. Call or txt with questions. 5184770288. Txts prefered..im at work most the time and I can't hear my phone if it rings. Thanks for looking.
  9. My landlord/neighbor takes care of snow removal and grass. But I swear I'm getting VERY close to telling him I will take care of it because he fails miserably at both. The dude is a male nurse and I think isn't use to or doesn't enjoy manual labor of any sort. The driveway is a wreck because of his half ass snow blowing job. Gets on my nerves especially for the price I pay in rent.
  10. We have two ladder stands that have been up for 13 years now. Still sturdy. Just replace the straps every year and take down the cushions from the seats. Plenty more years of life left in them
  11. If it's real cold I break out the elmer fudd red and black plaid wool pants and jacket. The jacket is bulky and heavy so if I have a long walk I will roll it up and tie it to my pack on my walk in to avoid sweating. I also use under Armour base layers. I'm sure wool ones are better but I like that the under Armour fits tight so I feel less bulk when wearing heavy outer layers. I wear thin gloves and just stick a handwarmer in each pocket. I've found that with heavy gloves my hands sweat to much and once the gloves become wet it's hard to dry them real well and they stay wet which leads to cold hands. My feet sweat a lot as well so I usually don't ever wear insulated boots. Just a heavy sock in my uninsulated under Armour rubber boots. Wearing all that I'm nice and toasty. Was thinking about getting one of those heater body suis for next year so I could wear less heavy stuff
  12. What pisses me off is how the stations get away with changing the prices so rapdily. I used to deliver gas so I would see it daily. A station with a 20K tank could be full and have the price at 3.65. 5 hours. Later if the market goes up they change the prices to 3.75. Now if they only sold 10K gallons they are left with another 10K. Now they paid a certain price for the 20K gallons and with increasing the price halfway through they just increased their profit margins. I understand it's good for them but it screws you and me over. I would think there should be a better system to protect the people a little more but we all know that won't happen.
  13. I've heard that fios will be all over eventually. Will take years though. They have to run all new fiber optic cables. I just read a article the other day that the city of albany is on the verge of suing verizon for not getting fios into the city and that they are only not doing it because they don't want to provide it to known lower income areas. Supposedly verizon has contracts with towns like bethlehem(where I am) Colonie and others that I can't remember that have to be filled first as the contract demands service at all homes in the towns. That was verizon rebutle at least. The speed of fios is absolutely the fastest. Blows twc out of the water. And the pricing is so much cheaper too. Personally I dislike verizon a lot mostly due to the high celluar prices but I can't argue the fact that they provide the best cell coverage and speeds for cells and internet.
  14. Nice! I need to find a channel list for the verizon TV because I want to get rid of dish even though I haven't had any problems but I'd rather pay less than 100 a month for TV and internet rather than 75 for TV then 45 for internet. Save a couple bucks!
  15. If you've never been out west or hunted elk before I suggest you go with a guide your first time. The backcountry can be a dangerous place and a newbie to the area can quickly become turned around and or get hurt and not know what to do or where to go. By going with a guide you can relax more and enjoy more of the hunt itself without having to worry about getting lost or anything like that. I guided out west and had a lot of guys who ended up doing DIY hunts just because they wanted a more rugged experience and wanted that satisfaction of doing it on their own. But they all agreed that coming out with a guide their first time was a big help and they used it as a learning experience. Either way good luck in your adventure. Have a good time no matter where you go. The west is a totally different world and the scenery is breathtaking!
  16. I'm not sure where your going to be exactly located at Geno but if verizon fios is in your area I'd get that. We moved from our old house down into town and got Fios for internet. Very fast! I know fios has something like a triple play package that's phone internet and TV for I think 90 bucks. When my contract with dish network is up I will most likely be going to that plan. But so far the internet has been flawless and even with the mid range speed package for $45 a month it streams movies with no lagging.
  17. Hey guys. I traded in my 2011 F150 ecoboost for a expedition since we needed something with a bigger cab for the kids. I have a Ranch Hand full replacement bumper from it that I no longer need and am looking to sell. Its in great shape and should bolt right on to any 2011 and up ecoboost and possibly the 5.0 but you'd have to check on that. Also has the holes for the stock fog lights. I paid close to $1700 new and I'm looking to get $800 for it. Call or text 518-477-0288
  18. Well that sucks. I don't have much respect for cops anymore. Rarely will you find one who is a decent guy. I know a few cops too and they are most of the time the worst offenders of the law. Always been that way. Inspections shouldn't even be required to begin with. Plenty of other states don't have them
  19. I feel your pain. I'm sitting at work right now. Work just a few mins shy of 17 hours yesterday and I was back at it 8am this morning. Freezing cold outside so I'm trying to avoid doing much work at all lol. But it's my last day of the week so I can try and get out in the woods tmw and tuesday with the bow behind the house. No guns allowed where I'm at in Albany county
  20. Would love to be headed to the stand in the morning. Snow was fun to watch. Except I was out in it freezing my butt off at work all day. Went in at 9am and I just got home 5 mins ago. Long day. I'm froze to the bone!! Back to work at 8am too....bummer
  21. Gold tips for me. Been shooting them for 5 years now. Very tough arrows. Only broke one in all the time shooting them. I've hit a fence post a few times with the same arrow to test the strength and it never broke. Had one go through a wooden fence before after it blew through a worn out target, that one I found in the grass with 2 of the 3 fletchings torn off but arrow was good. They are reasonably priced and have always shot true so I have no reason to change. Arrows is one of the products I actually never even Window shop for, thought of changing never crosses my mind
  22. I have got to have the earliest shot heard out of you all! Monday morning at 418. Wind was blowing hard all night but had calmed down to nothing around 4. I woke up about 355 and was just taking my first sip or two of coffee standing on the front porch of my hunting camp with my old man and we heard a gun shot go off and about 2 seconds later and loud exhaust revving and tires squeling. Now our camp is on the side of a mountain and we can see quite a big valley down in front of us. We can hear cars on quiet days on the mtn side on the mtn clear across the valley. This had to of happened down in one of the farm fields at the bottom of the valley. We could see headlights after the shot too. My guess was someone was out driving around with a spot light and saw a nice buck in the field and shot it. I'm not sure if they hit it or not I never went down to look in the fields and I didn't call DEC either as we are out of cell service there and I didn't feel like driving 20 mins to town. But I couldn't believe it when I heard that gun go off. I hate people that do stupid stuff like that. And by the way the vehicle took off so fast after the shot there's no way they got the deer, just left it there to rot. Pathetic!
  23. I too prefer ladder stands on windy days. If you buy a quality one and strap it to a big sturdy tree with multiple straps that thing won't go anywhere. I also dig the legs down into the ground up to the first rung. That helps with stability a lot. I have peiced together a ladder stand that ended up in the 30 ft plus range once to get it up high into a huge lone cottonwood tree on the mouth of a draw between a soy bean and corn field. Took 5 guys to get this thing up and a cherry picker and about 20 high strength ratchets but once we got it all tightened down that thing was awesome! It definatly wasn't for anyone who was afraid of heights but man you could see down that draw great. Had a couple guys shoot some real big bucks out of it too!
  24. Wow. that's something I haven't seen before. Better be careful who sees this video. A new breed of "donkey shows" may be around the corner at your nearest hillbilly town lmao
  25. I use a set of custom Dunn skinning knives for gutting and quartering then I use a small victornox for deboning and caping if the deer will be mounted.
