  1. No, we don't do such stuff. We hear enough bleating dealing with and servicing our wives. We'll be damned if we want to hear some more. We were wondering why you guys liked to bring in those sheep on occasion, though? I guess we know now. Whatever floats your boat, fellas.
  2. Well, that's not us in that picture, Burt. You know darn well we have darker complexions than the two in the picture. The only baiting we ever used was the free fried chicken stand we set up down the road from your cabin. All the bubbas around your neighborhood went down to get the free chicken while me and Doewhacker trespassed on their land.
  3. A BS statement from someone who probably never graduated from college. LOL
  4. OH OK, mowing some hay is a bit better reason to take a day off from school. LOL
  5. You're what?? Almost 16 according to your stats? In the long run it's WAY better not to cut school to go hunting. Getting an education is way more important than killing some stupid deer or something else, this I could assure you. It's none of my business of course, but you seem to post a heck of a lot when most 15 year olds should be in class, so lots of time seems to be wasted already. It's your life, though.
  6. Who's on first base?? Some of you need to quit worrying about bagging that big buck, and learn the regulations first.
  7. I've posted these videos before. Have to say that this is the closest that I've ever got to some decent bucks in NYS, all at the same time. I shot these videos at Robert Moses State Park on Fire Island, LI.
  8. There you go again Pygmy, always blaming me and Doe. Actually almost missed your post here, so I figured I'd save you a trip over to Grow's camera and post the picture from the disk here for her and everyones viewing pleasure. From left to right, pictured are a clean shaven Grizz 1219, Elmer Fudd, WNY, Culver and of course you are the short one. Missing from the picture were Doc, who was busy writing letters to his representatives, and VJP who has gone back into his underground bunker planning the next revolution.
  9. You are right there, I will give you that. I should know better than to try to make any points with you clowns. I DO have plenty of better and more important things to do, that's for darned sure.
  10. Where is my comprehension at fault? So what does a few trees turning tell us? Not much. My point is that summer isn't over yet, and a few trees turning different color does not mean that the Fall color change is anywhere close to starting. It will obviously get here, but by any measure it's MORE than a month away in these parts. I know many of you guys start dreaming of next hunting season the minute last years season ended, but I for one am not like that. I will enjoy every day I have, no matter what I'm doing, and will think about hunting when the season is actually here and not a minute before that. You fellas can knock yourselves out with the dreamin', though! LOL
  11. I still see plenty of green in those pictures. I tell you guys what. Come 3rd or 4rth week of September, take a drive around the entire state and let me know if green isn't still the predominant color you are seeing? 3rd week of August is still far from the beginning of Fall anywhere in this state.
  12. They took Doc's "repeal the safe act" sign so that they could stick a "support the safe act" sign in the same spot tomorrow. That ought to rile Doc up! LOL
  13. I've been to places like the Adirondacks and New Hampshire as late as the third week of September and things were still quite green even at higher elevations. Even been to Montana and Wyoming in late September where the climate is a lot harsher than Wayne County NY and leaves just started turning color. But if you insist on seeing colors in Wayne county in August I surely won't argue with you.
  14. At least First-light admits to eating the wrong mushrooms. The rest of you I wonder about? Exactly where did leaves ever turn color the third week of August?? Sure you will have a dying tree or shrub at any time of the year, but NO way in hell that things are changing color yet in these parts. Even into the first week of October things are still very green in many areas, even at higher elevations.
  15. LOL. For hunting purposes I have never considered an ATV anything other than a hassle. I see people lugging these things to their hunting areas, where they take forever to unload them. Then they fire them up so they can ride to their treestands that are like 200 yards from the road. Makes absolutely NO sense to me. If my feet can't carry me to where I want to hunt, then I will be giving up hunting.
  16. Yeah, Burt really needs to build some stronger fences. All we did was lean on it and down it went. Don't have a clue what they were doing on his land, but about a dozen Mexicans were yelling "gracias" to us while they ran out thru the hole in the fence that we made. Seriously though, hunting does seem to attract some lard ass people. It's the only outdoor pastime that sells as many XXXL garments as it does the normal sizes.
  17. Oh man, you got ripped off good for $5000! Plenty of painters available out there for a reasonable price. Competition amongst them can be tough, so you can definitely negotiate on price. The ones that are a one or two man operations are the best bet. Those that look like they are going to work on the set of the "This Old House" TV series will most certainly take you to the cleaners. When it comes to plain spackling and painting, one doesn't need high end painters. It's only a paint job. Won't last forever no matter who does the painting.
  18. Heck Deerthug, I thought you were a lawyer?? Why on earth are you painting yourself? Just hire someone to do it. All kidding aside, I have sworn off painting for the rest of my life. There is no bigger pain in the ass job than painting. Just the preparation and clean-up takes more time than the actual painting. Unless it's a very minor job, from now on I will be whipping open my wallet and paying someone to paint and spare myself the headaches. It's not like they will charge you a fortune to paint a couple of rooms.
  19. If there's anything you can give a groom on his wedding day, it would be a hacksaw that he could use to cut himself free from the ball and chain that will be soldered tightly around his neck the minute he says "I do". LOL
  20. Aren't wedding gifts supposed to be for BOTH the bride and the groom? If anything a wedding gift supposed to be something that the bride will find useful more than the groom. I don't think a hunting knife or flashlight will go over too well with the bride, unless she hunts too. You can buy each of them separate gifts I guess, but I always thought one gift was given for both. I'm sure most here wished that they were given a $500 Cabelas gift card for their wedding even if the bride didn't hunt, but generally that's not the way it works.
  21. For those who don't have the time to read thru the posts since last night, here is a video of the action. Paula is the referee.
  22. Wait until we get to the Greeks. And since you started this thread, we will spare NO mercy on you.
  23. Who poaches more deer, the city boys that come up to hunt, or the local upstate boys?? This ought to get us to at least page 28.
  24. I think it's our old buddy Robinson on the banjo here in NYS.
  25. Ok boys, enough is enough. I just got a PM from Growalot saying that in her motherly opinion this stuff needs to stop. It's time to hold hands and make peace and maybe smoke a peace pipe with some of the stuff that she grows next to her food plots for deer. She asked me to post this video of her singing "Kumbaya", so we can all join in while we all hold hands. OK fellas??
