I actually didn't see anyone making attacks or judgements. Many hunters would have no desire to kill an elephant even if they were given the opportunity free of charge. They are unique and intelligent creatures that live a very long time and some of us have no interest firing a bullet into one whether it's for sport or population control. Dinsdale was the first to make the statement that "hunters will eat their own faster than a lion" and even said that he purposely posted the pic of the tuskless elephant to point out how "hypocritical" hunters were. So if his feeling are now hurt, he has no one to blame but himself. Maybe if he didn't post the picture, no one would have any reason to comment? But he did choose to post a pic, and people have the right to make comments. Case closed.

HERE COMES THE GUN LAWS

HERE COMES THE GUN LAWS
steve863 replied to ryan's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Excellent post. The big problem is that gun owners and the gun lobby are portrayed as having very little compassion about violence committed with guns. If we are not willing (as responsible gun owners) to take at least the simplest steps to keep a legal firearm from easily being converted to an illegal one, then we will eventually lose the public relations game. I know the NRA has had a lot of success in the past and has won out, but lets not forget that all things come to an end. And I've long predicted that there will be a republican president in office when the next significant national gun law gets signed. It was a political game not to have any laws go thru with a democrat in office, but that is not the case right now. If you think that a guy like Trump couldn't be swayed to sign something into law, I've got a bridge in Brooklyn that I could sell you. I don't care if he was the star at the NRA convention this past year. He is a loose cannon and what he said yesterday, may not hold any water tomorrow. We will see what happens. -
Yeah, I think it's Dumbo. Wiping away my kids tears as I write this. LOL

Recovery rate with your bow (poll, but names not public)
steve863 replied to Core's topic in Bow Hunting
Good to see people being honest here. I never considered myself much of a bowhunter, and killed very, very few with a bow. One deer I did stick with a very superficial wound. That was it for me as far as wounding. I do not hunt with a bow anymore, nor do I miss it. I have way more confidence with a rifle in my hands. I'll probably get flack for this, but my opinion is that many bowhunters are not nearly as good as they think they are. Shooting at targets is one thing (and quit honestly not very difficult), but shooting at live game is another. Bowhunting seems to be the fad these days and everyone seems to want to bowhunt. But I think the reality is that only a few are good enough to consistently put game down with a bow, thus you get to see and hear about a lot of unrecovered deer. I guess some will say the same for gun hunters, but I think due to a gun being way more lethal, one has a better chance of getting away with less than ideal shooting skill. I've seen a good many mediocre gun shooters who consistently put down deer. If you are mediocre with a bow, that will NEVER happen. And I would say the percentage of mediocrity is the same with bowhunters and gun hunters. I'm sure the bowhunters will want to argue this point, but this has at least been my observation of things. -
You don't see $#!+ on this video. You must really reach deep into your butt to come up with this stuff!!

You bet he does. The more off the wall the source, the more likely Papist is to believe it.
-
What about it? Are you talking about the different sound of the gunfire? The guy had a bunch of guns up there didn't he? Probably started firing with a different gun the second volley of shots. Two guns can sound different for a variety of reasons. Different caliber, barrel length, one with a suppressor, one without. Plenty of explanations for that. I did not hear two guns going off at the same time, thus I have a hard time believing that there was more than one shooter.

Of course she can fish. She's a mermaid and dives right into the water to catch them by hand!

HERE COMES THE GUN LAWS
steve863 replied to ryan's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
On a federal level this will not happen, but you shouldn't be giving Cuomo any ideas here. He'd be more than happy to oblige. -
You have my sincere apologies then. I was just going on how the typical hunter approaches opening morning where most are ready to go well before the alarm. In the scheme of things hunting is not very important and your health is what is most important to yourself and family. Be well and wishing you a successful hunting season!

Vegas Shooting

Maybe on both sides of the political spectrum elsewhere in the media, internet, etc., but on this forum as far as I can see, Papist is the ONLY one that has taken it there. As is the usual -

As usual, Papist taking things into the... -
Why would he convert it legally or get the full auto license? Would make NO sense. Most especially if his intent was to finish himself off after the massacre. If it is proven that he converted the guns to full auto himself, I could see a whole new angle put on trying to ban AR or AK type rifles.

When was anything ever NOT a conspiracy with Papist?

Vegas Shooting

That wouldn't be difficult at all actually. How would anyone know? If he reserved the room for a few days( even one day for that matter), he easily could have gone back and forth with a few suitcases full of guns and ammo. If the suitcases were closed, it's not like the maids who come in to clean the room would ever know what was in them. Neither would anyone else. -
Nice and warm here. My bowhunting days are behind me, and was never much into it even then, so the excitement begins at gun season for me.
-
???? How does someone do that on opening morning???? Most everyone else gets up well before the alarm goes off!

I agree, any model will do the trick. I do find the Ruger M77's to be much more classier rifles than the Ruger American, which is a budget priced gun. For the little more you are paying, you also get a Mauser style action with the M77. Not that it's most important, but I'm sure the M77 will holds it's value down the road way better than the budget priced American would.
-
Why go with the Ruger American and then exchange stocks when you can get a Ruger M77 in a wood stock for well under $1,000? There seems to be no love for the old M77, but it will kill game with the best of them.

Hefner had his 40 virgins while he was alive. Plus hundreds of non-virgins, hundreds with big boobs, hundreds of blondes, hundreds of brunettes, etc., etc. I reckon he had heaven on earth.

Forgot to ask earlier. Does she leave you any of that sammich?

Got it, that would make sense.

Beautiful girl. Does she fit in the bed of your pickup?

Hey, what can I say? Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet. Look at what the other poor dude on the other thread had to do to get access to some private land.
