I’m in my stand about 1 hour before official sunrise. Can easily shoot 25-30 minutes before sunrise in woods, field edge is a whole other story. So I’d say first light is about 40 mins before sunrise time in your zone.

Just a heads up for anyone looking, i always check my local Ollies (Johnson City NY) before hunting season as they usually get some stuff in. This is by far the cheapest I've ever seen, I got Scent blocker Protec HD jacket and pants for $80 ($40 each). They seem to be a mid weight wind proof soft fleece type with the carbon scent blocking. The price was so good I got my dad a set also. They had probably 20-30 sets medium-xl. (These are not my photos, i stole them off the internet)

Ive been watching the extended forecast wind and it changes every day. Right now its a N wind and i will be in my doe spots in the morning if there's N or NW wind, same with the evening on another property. Saturday ill more than likely head to PA and try to fill a doe tag there, have 9-10 doe on cam at a time taking the trail by my stand. Either way ill be in a stand somewhere most all of Friday-Monday. I've got 9 tags to fill lol, and am taking kids out for NY youth and PA youth weekends. I prefer to shoot doe in the morning early season so the rest of the deer go bed and I can take care of it.

Dad hunted all while i grew up, I never had an interest although i never recall him asking me too. at about 18 I went and bought a shotgun and it was like a light switch flipped. 19 oz water, 1 oz martins 10% permethrin. I go 1.5 oz and make it a bit stronger. Do not get the Gordons brand, its oil based, martins is water based just like sawyers, no odor.

Two week warning! I’ll be drinking my coffee and takin my morning shit at this time. All I have left is wash clothes and mix up a bottle of home brew permethrin.
