  1. No crutches since Wednesday, started PT yesterday. Weird how your quad muscle just doesn't work after this surgery. The electrodes they zapped it with were cool. That seems to be the first major hump in recovery, getting quad muscle to work again. Back to work on Monday, then the real fun begins!
  2. Last 4th of July I was trimming my Japanese Oak in my yard (not so affectionately dubbed the thorn oak) and a branch came off and sliced my ear open. Does that count? I'll be wearing my chainsaw hard hat and screen DOWN from now one when doing that.
  3. I'm curious about the spine. I don't think many members who have field dressed a deer are gonna be too grossed out by that man. We've been up to our elbows in it! That is fricking weird about that rod. Fell on something? Thinking about it, maybe like Rob said it got hit in the road and a vet fixed it up? Broken leg / back?
  4. Try being on crutches. This is the kind of weather I'd go on a long hike on the property and see what's been happening for the past w months.
  5. They are going to have a booth at the Great American Outdoor Expo next week. Wish I wasn't laid up. Maybe next year.
  6. Werd. Enjoy these weeks old son, they are some of the best weeks of your life you will only remember slide show moments of. Thanks to sleep deprivation. When you both go back to work the real fun begins
  7. Not that I'm aware of. Brush hog with the 3 point hydraulic as far off the ground as you can, and do it in stages? Cut stripes/shooting lanes, let it grow, rinse and repeat?
  8. Can we get a line graph of Biz Posts Per Day (BPPD) before and after child birth?
  9. I am highly intrigued by this, will run it by the wife for a night out!
  10. Thanks man. Yeah binge watched a season of building Alaska, the one with all hunting camps. Today we're doing the Daniel Craig bond flicks in order.
  11. This is definitely less bad than a broken ankle. 6 days out and I can walk on it a little. Being able to take a shower is cool too. Spending 4 hours a day in the ROM machine, and doing stretched + ice is time consuming, but working!
  12. Sorry to hear it, I'm sure he's in the happy hunting ground
  13. Hoping they come out with a snow pattern, because I could justify the crap out of this for winter dog hunting. Just not this year
  14. This is a very useful thread with some good tips. We have dozens of old apple trees scattered around our property that need work this spring. Sadly last year when I checked a bunch of old groves have died out. Also want to knock down some tries that are blocking sunlight to some of our deep woods groves.
  15. This. My uncle tans some, sells some others. He just got a nice reddish one a couple days ago he caught on a dead calf. That mangy one I hammered on opening day of gun I left in "bait spot". The only thing that would eat it was ravens the bald eagles.
  16. Grats man! Welcome to the all girl club!
  17. I have a 44 inch swisher that I cut my 3 acres of lawn with in about 2 hours flat. Specific to the Swisher: It has its ups and downs, can't say I'd highly recommend it. The belt is a pain in the ass. Like, a huge one. And it goes alot. I've had it fixed twice in 10 years, though neither was expensive, still annoying. Changing the oil is a pain in the ass. The concept of using a standalone engine + w blades is a great one. Much rather use it than a 0 turn. The motor is a Briggs and Stratton, that part has been solid.
  18. What's the sticker on that bad boy? I haven't taken the plunge on a ML yet, that intrigues me.
  19. Remember, you'll sleep again eventually. In like a year.
  20. We going to have an all red superbowl? Can't say I want to see the titans/9ers. That's a boring ass matchup.
  21. @DirtTime I had to switch to my PC, had way too much to type on the phone : Camping area: I've seen people camp at any of the turn offs that follow the CCC road in. I think there are markers at the entrances of the designated camping areas. There should be about 3 of them I believe. One is right at the end of the CCC road/Cheese hill. Note that there's a gun range for the Park Rangers about 600 yards north of that spot. There's another camp site, I believe, on the right hand side after the 4 corners where Scutt Road intersects CCC. A group of guys always used to bring up a camper and park it in a camp spot, right on the end of the CCC road. They don't come around anymore, I think they got too old, had their camper broken into too many times. What are you planning on hunting? I'll stop here, but if you want more info let me know.
  22. I drive through there on my way to the farm, where we hunt, adjacent to it. So I know it pretty well
