Maybe, maybe not. A 4-4 loss is a non-precedential affirmance. Sure, you lose, but it has no bearing on future cases, including a subsequent repeat challenge to the SAFE Act.

Financing vacant land is going to require more down than a residential property because it is of uncertain value as security for the loan. In my experience, the three best options are: 1) buy in cash; 2) find a seller who will take back paper; or 3) find a small, rural credit union that will offer more conventional financing for vacant land.

I have a 2013 F150 with 70k miles and no problems at all. If I were buying a new truck today, I would look very seriously at a Nissan Titan. I've heard nothing but good things about Nissan trucks in the past. Now with the 5.0 Cummins in the Titan, they may have actually made it better.

I actually just upgraded to a FF flemish twist from the original Dacron string that came with the bow. I'm pretty new to traditional archery. I'm not planning on hunting with it until next year, so I'm really just learning the ropes at the moment. I don't think I've shot a bow without cams since cub scouts. I've been meaning to look into Steve B's strings. I read your review on here a while ago and it piqued my interest.

I'm on a mission to make my recurve as quiet as I possibly can. I've read good things about the bow hush and hush puppy. Unfortunately, the site is temporarily closed and I can't order them. Anyone who has tried the bow hush, how does it compare to ordinary felt where the string hits the limb coupled with some old fashioned beaver balls?

Mopeds are like fat chicks, Larry. They're fun to ride until your friends catch you on one.

Even Tundras aren't immune to issues. My father's Tundra has been to the dealer 6 or 7 times now for various electrical issues. Granted, it has been fairly mechanically sound in the last 7 years. My biggest problem with the Tundra when I was looking is that Toyota still puts almost no effort into their interiors. I know a lot of guys here are minimalists when it comes to trucks, but I average 2500 miles per month and that time is spent inside the truck, so I appreciate my creature comforts. I used to laugh at stuff like that, but that was before I had heated and cooled leather seats. If I could do it again, the only thing I would do differently is get a bed rug...

I wear safety Glasses, hearing protection (usually my shooting earmuffs), and I make sure I don't have any loose clothing that can get stuck in the saw. Admittedly, I don't run an extremely powerful saw, so kickback is usually not a huge problem if I'm careful. To me, aside from death/dismemberment, the biggest risk is an eye injury or long term hearing damage. I guess I tend to insure against the more common accidents and just hope the less common catastrophic stuff doesn't happen. Now that I have a little one on the way maybe I'll wise up though.

I have a 2013 F150 with a 5.0. Approx 65k on it at the moment. I've put 36k on it in the last 16 months. I haven't had to do anything but change the oil. Then again, at 65k, I would hope nothing was wrong with it. I used to get 21 mpg until I put the leveling kit on it, but even now I still get 18.5 with summer gas. Actually, I take that back. I did have an issue where my rear defroster overheated and made my back window explode (it sounds worse than it was). It is quite a common occurrence from what I read on Ford forums. It wouldn't have bothered me if Ford hadn't refused to acknowledge that this is a common problem and fixed it. Instead, I had to file a glass claim with my insurance.

What is it chambered in?

My old man's Tundra has had so many electrical problems you would think it was a VW. They all have their quirks. I bought my F150 about a year and a half ago and love it. I don't regret it at all. Honestly though, if I were buying new today, I love the look of the Nissan Titan with the 5.0 Cummins.

Wood working project
Caveman replied to 2012_taco's topic in DIY - Do It Yourself, tutorials and videos
I see you went with pocket hole joinery. I used to dabble in woodworking a long time ago (relatively speaking), and I only had to make one piece with mortise and tenon joints before I bought a pocket hole jig and never looked back. -
Oddly enough, same here. I've been a teamster and CSEA at different times. The white collar CSEA folks were more likely to vote democratic than any of the blue collar teamsters I knew.

I'm really sorry to hear that, Larry. I only got to meet Jenny once, but I could tell she was a one of a kind companion. It doesn't feel like it now, but over time the pain will fade and you'll be left with only those happy memories. My condolences in the meantime.

Larry, my wife got busted doing 45 in a 30 through Batavia last summer (It was on the Eastern outskirts and she thought it was 40mph). It was her first ticket in 12 years of driving. She was given a plea offer to failure to obey a traffic control device. She had a few people call the DA on her behalf, but he wouldn't budge. ADA told her that was the best she was getting. It was 2 points and $188. $100 went to the fine and $88 in "surcharges."

Where is NYS's version of Donald Trump
Caveman replied to Doc's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
A NY Trump, no. A Republican with a chance at Governor. I'd say Chris Gibson has the best chance. -
Of course not. Of course, I'm not "offended" when people like the Patriots either...but I do judge them.

Speak for yourself, Larry. I'd take it for free, sell it, and buy another bolt action in 7mm mag.

I could wax poetic about being part of a long tradition, the camaraderie of deer camp the night before the opener, feeding my family nutritious venison, communing with nature, or the incomparable adrenaline rush I experience whenever I see a deer. Instead, I'll give you the short answer. Because it's worth it.

My wife has the glass screen protector on her iPhone. She has already chipped/cracked it twice. Each time, she emails them and they send a new one. We pay for shipping, but don't have to pay for a new screen.

I had an otterbox on my last phone and it was a bulky pain in the ass. I got an INCIPIO case on my latest phone and I'd recommend it. It's protective enough to do it's job without making my phone as thick as a deck of cards.

Felony charges in Caledonia hunting death
Caveman replied to WNYBuckHunter's topic in General Chit Chat
I'm expressing no opinion, Uptown. That is for a jury to determine once they've heard the actual evidence presented. I'm just providing you with the text of the statute. -
Felony charges in Caledonia hunting death

The legal standard for criminally negligent homicide is that one act with "criminal negligence." "A person acts with criminal negligence with respect to a result or a circumstance . . . when he fails to perceive a substantial and unjustifiable risk that such result will occur or that such circumstance exists. The risk must be of such nature and degree that the failure to perceive it constitutes a gross deviation from the standard of care that a reasonable person would observe in the situation." That's from Section 15.05 (4) of the Penal Law. -
Wolc, you are a huge proponent of aging meat here, and that's cool. I'm not going to contest your experience in meat handling. But, every single time you write "riggermortice" I physically cringe. It's like nails on a chalkboard for some reason. It's "rigor mortis." It's just a pet peeve of mine, but its driving me nuts.
