Smoked for a good 8-9 hours then foiled and left in for another 5 or so. Coolered for 2 hours then pulled. I don't usually crock pot. Apple juice and foil works like a dream. Also I don't have crockpots for 15 to 60 pounds of butts as I never do just one. I did put up a bunch of one pound packs to freeze and go off with the kid to college and a couple to some close friends.

I have a TC Triumph that is my favorite gun. Shoots smooth and accurate as can be. It is a deer slayer. My son seems to take my Trumph a lot so I went out and got a CVA Accura Plains Model. It is a good gun but I have not found the perfect easy load to get long range accuracy yet. The Triumph outshoots it and my brothers Remington 700 Ultimate with ease.

I always have a couple around and plenty of deer. I do have a young one that won’t stay outa the yard and come open season he will end that habit. He was eating apples under the tree 30 yards out the back door the other night. I walked out and yelled and clapped and he did not want to leave and didn’t hurry. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I don’t use any hang on anymore. Just too much a pita. I have mostly ladder stands now. Just safer and comfiest in my situations. If I need to be mobile I’ll use a climber. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I hunt alone quite often. But also will hunt with family on different watches. And I spent a bunch of watches side by side with my son the last few years which was great. Now his older sister wants to join me so this year I hope to get some time with her in the stand. I would years ago from time to time get that eerie feeling walking way back in during the pitch dark, now I love it. I have some spots I know the way so well I usually don't even use a small light. Don't get me wrong I've almost crapped my pants a couple times having roosted turkeys take off right over your head in the pitch dark or a ruff grouse! Good thing my heart still works lol..

I have two spots that are just about an hour away. That is the farthest one day trips and that sucks. Don't know how you guys do 2,3 4 regularly.

My family has historically been long lived. All grandparents and great grandparents all lived late 70at earliest and most 80’s and 90’s. I’ve beaten cancer in my 30’s now 52 and figure I’ll last mid 80’s but with the dementia and Alzheimer’s in my family I won’t know it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
