    The democrats used to hide their true agenda and run on a moderate middle class platform while governing from the left and then run again on a moderate agenda. They have stopped doing that completely. They run entirely on a left wing socialist platform of free, free, free. All the immigrants can come in, free health care for all, free college. All bought and paid for on what is left of the working class. What scares me is they get more and more votes running on this. The dems already have NY and CA along with the rest of the northeast locked up. That's a lot of electoral votes. FL just went blue this past election. We are passing a tipping point. I believe if the Dems didn't sink Bernie there is a good chance he would have been our president over Trump running completely on Socialism.

    I have forgotten my release, forgotten to put my release on, forgotten to pull my bow up, sat for 3 hours and realized I don't have bolt in my crossbow. Probably 20 years ago I drove all the way to where I was hunting, got all dressed put on my backpack and went to grab my rife out of the truck and realized I left it home. I have gotten up to stretch not realizing there was a deer right behind me and probably the worst one. I was on a all day sit ( I have done maybe 3 in my life) and hadn't seen a thing. I was cold, annoyed and packed my stuff up about 15 minutes early. I got about 3 steps down my ladder stand heard a loud snort that scared the crap out of me and watched as a really large deer that was about 25 yds from my stand bound off at 1000 miles an hour catching glimpses of what looked like nice rack as he ran out of my life. He had to be standing there watching me pack up. As I got out to the RR tracks where I park one of my hunting buddies was driving down the dirt road and said he just saw the biggest buck he has ever seen bound across the tracks. Have never left my stand early since.

    I know others have already chimed in on this. I really hope you are out there looking for that deer this morning. I lost my first archery deer. Had great blood for about 75 yds and it just disappeared. This was in the morning. I looked for two or three hours by myself and then 6 of the guys that are on the lease with me looked for the whole rest of the day. We never found another speck of blood but we followed every deer trail we could find for hundreds of yards looking for blood. We grid searched the whole day until dark through some of the thickest nastiest thickets and prickers. Some you had to push backwards through. The next morning when I was in my treestand it was bothering me so much that I wounded a deer that I wasn't sure I could shoot another one. About an hour after daylight I got down and looked again for the whole day. I felt like I covered every square inch of 500 yds in every direction. I was sick over losing that deer. That was 5 years ago and it still bothers me today. I think about that deer every time I draw my bow making the best shot I can now cause I don't want that to ever happen to me again. They say everyone will lose a deer and you try to learn from it. But I got to tell you, and don't get me wrong, I know it is hard to read feelings into text but it doesn't feel like you are that worried about losing that deer. You seem content to just let it lie and get back to hunting again and that is bothersome. I hope you get out there and look until you feel like there isn't one other thing you can do to find that deer and then you look again.

    I meant that as a complement. All the posts I have read of yours over the years I have been impressed with your woodsmanship, tracking skills and ability in the big woods. I just assumed those were skills you had learned over a lifetime. I guess I am a really slow learner because I am 45 and don't ever expect to have the woodsman ship you have in your young life! Congrats again!

    No need, I already answered this in the Live from the woods forum....I'll go into a little more detail here 28 degrees with temps remaining steady throughout the day. Overcast with occasional snow showers. Steady WNW wind at 3 MPH with 1.5" of snow on the ground from overnight. This weather will encompass the entire southern zone and remain through Sunday at Sunset. I can't speculate any farther out at this time.

    I just can't understand the rational of people. Cuomo has had people that he shares an office with going down for corruption. He is pro illegal immigration, runs one of the most highly taxed and regulated states in the country and yet he wins in a landslide. Here comes more illegal immigration safe haven cities, more free health care to those that don't work, more taxes and regulation on residents and business in a state that is already almost impossible to establish a new business in. More anti gun legislation, more school budget cuts to make way for free handouts college tuition for illegals. Who does this sound good too? While I wish sometimes Trump would stop acting childish with his tweets etc, you can't look at what he has done the last two years in office and not be happy with what has been accomplished in a short amount of time. Economy, stock market, unemployment, regulation, immigration, border security all leaps and bounds better than it was two years ago and was headed even farther in the right direction. I can't see that continuing with the Dems control of the house. They will block everything Trump tries to get done. Wait till the news starts talking about all the executive orders he is going to have to use.

    Me either. Seems I am always running to DMV the Friday before we decide to go riding for the weekend.

    We have several tripods stands on our lease. They are great for the scrub area's that don't have any large trees. We built wood bases for them that are about 4' by 4' out of 4"x4". They raise the stand to about 20' and keep them from blowing over. Also makes them very stable. The full enclosure is crazy noisy if the wind is blowing. We ripped them off and were thinking of adding some poles with ubolts and putting a piece of tin on the top. Maybe next year.

    If you see 6 deer on Saturday and say 8 deer on Sunday but two of the deer you saw on Sunday you are sure are the same doe and fawn you saw Saturday you say you saw 6 deer on Sunday? When he said 300 I was assuming he has seen 300 on total sits. I am sure some are the same deer. I have seen probably 50 or 60 deer but it is probably the same 20 or so I have seen multiply times.

    So far I feel like I have had a pretty good season. I have seen a lot of deer. I have had multiply small bucks and doe that had fawns with them in chip shot bow range. A week ago Sunday 10/28 I saw more deer then I have ever seen in one day. More than I usually see in a season. Not sure where they all went cause I sat the same stand this past Sunday and saw 2 doe and a fawn in the morning and a lone fawn around 4. All in all I would say it has been pretty good, especially since I am a weekend warrior and have missed multiply sits due to all the rain/wind. Still have not seen a shooter but they are on camera.

    Where did you hunt when you lived in CP? Were you happy with the land? Its not like you moved hours away is the only reason I am asking. I wouldn't think a lot of those places you just named are any farther from CP then from Rotterdam. I live in Saratoga

    I would call a LEO. They may not be able to do anything but what can it hurt? If he has already been busted and then the LEO's here about this incident maybe they will be keeping a watch on this Dirt Bag. That sucks, sorry to hear...

    Our lease rules are 6 or better. I had and still have sometimes a hard time with this rule but I sort of abide by it. Most of the guys I hunt with have killed bucket loads of small bucks. I haven't killed a lot of bucks. I have a spike/maybe 3, a four, a Five an eight and nine point. So I have only killed 5 bucks in my life so to me they are all trophys. I won't kill a doe that has fawns in tow (my choice) and I have seen 7 different bucks this season but nothing bigger than a 4pt. Several in bow range. So when I climb up in a stand I have already ruled out killing 95 percent of the deer ill see. The 8 and the 9 I killed are the only two bucks I have ever seen on our lease that met our requirement. Its not like I am seeing 8 points running all over. We always kill a few nice deer every year and the guys always seem to see nice bucks that they can't get a shot at. Some days I am all for it and some days I would love to sling an arrow at what is under my treestand. I see both sides.

    They aren't buck and doe tags. They are antler and antlerless. That deer needs a buck tag for sure.... EDIT: Sorry, I posted this before I noticed a bunch of people already answered.
