  1. I been itching for an new hand gun. Thinking of picking up another Kimber micro 9
  2. I love cat hunts, I am most likely going again next winter if I have some extra time.
  3. Good luck with the new ride
  4. Been seeing trade in prices coming down quite a bit and even some unbid lots on the wholesale auction lists. I wonder how long of back log there is and if we could see a return to somewhat normal inventory levels later this year
  5. Good luck with the new truck. I ordered a new Tundra last month, hoping have by summer …but who the hell knows
  6. I have only two Glocks at this point, an original 43 that is my summer time carry and G20 that take with me to Alaska and in Griz county in the lower 48.
  7. I ordered a new Tundra yesterday. Three to six month wait for a limited with the TRD package and Unknown wait time if they are even allocated a TRD Pro. I so get which ever one comes in first. Hopefully it’s by summer
  8. Most of the time I take my Glock 20 loaded with hard cast with me to Alaska for bear protection. However for this trip I will most likely leave it home as we will be guided. I might get back up to Kodiak next year to hunt and for sure my 10mm will be back with me.
  9. Yes, I have some experience fishing’s and guiding for steelhead, guided about 250 days or so and fished a bunch more day for myself. I found west coast steelhead to be bit different then steelhead on the Great Lake tribs however they have many of similarities and you right, if your have solid foundation it will carry over
  10. Yes many off the more well regarded guides and lodges are. You might find a opening or two for 2023 but for this year…the good ones are fully booked. Another issue i that I wanted our group to be the only one in the lodge for the week so I was looking at places that max out at 6 or 8 people. Lucky I made some contacts that put me in touch with person that cold check those boxes.
  11. I have fished in Alaska a several times. always in conjunction with bowhunting there, either before, during and after my hunts. Its been a great time. I have caught char, greyling, raninbows, sockeye and cohos in Alaska on my fly rods. I have not however made a dedicated fishing trip there. Every year some buddies of mine and I share a steelhead camp together here in NY. I been busting their balls to come with me to Alaska for a summer flying trip . I was hoping they would want to experience it . However they always have excuses that prevented them from going, too much money, too much traveling ect ect…. This year I told them I was booking a trip to the Bristol Bay Area for an august fishing trip that would get me into good rainbow fishing during the sockeye run and hopefully hit Silvers as they start to head into the rivers to spawn. I wanted to miss all the insanity that comes from fishing for Kings. Lo and behold this year some agreed to make the trip with me. We booked a fly out lodge and will be doing a 6 day fly out trip in august of 2024. I am supper excited to be going with a great group of friends. Have any of the members here fly fished in remote parts of Alaska and how was your experience?
  12. Selective outrage that’s stems from political Tribalism. They been programmed to respond that way.
  13. Every spike is trophy, even a broken one horned one, and even if its your 17th spike and you been hunting for the last 30 plus years.... The every deer is a trophy crowd are type of people that think every kid should make the travel team, even if their kids sucks. You want to be a better hunter, then succeed consistently in a variety of locations, conditions and topography. Not just on the same piece of ground you been hunting for the last twenty years.
  14. I pretty much stopped inviting my local friends for out of state hunts. Always all gun ho to go then they find a reason not follow though. The wife is pissed, the kids have basketball, work won’t give me time off, money is tight. In short all bullshit. If you want to find a reason not to do something you always will. I am more then content to go hunt alone.
  15. Many Americans, myself at one time too all to often believe they have a Monopoly on freedom and that’s we are only ones living well. Well that isn’t the case. There is a lot of good in the world with happy people living good lives that suit them, their time and their places. Life changing perspective change for sure.
  16. There are some many places in this world worth visiting and seeing . Seems like every time we check someplace off we add a few more. Not that I am old however when I was younger I had much more America centric view of the world, I am glad I have traveled quite a bit because it has definitely changed my perception.
  17. Yes everyone says the same. It’s a must visit county. We had had put this off the past year with all the travel crap so now that things are opening up we are going. We have to somehow fit in soccer camp for my son in Madrid as well, he got accepted to the Real Madrid camp last year, again got out on hold for Covid. I want to make that happen for him for sure
  18. My wife is setting something up, Scotland and Iceland I believe.
  19. If it came out the consistency liverwurst then you over mixed it till the fat emulsified. That happens because your temps are too high while you mix it.
  20. That was an all-time classic
