I'm pretty sure those are either the Berkeley's polypore or the Black-staining polypore. Both of which are edible. I found some last month in Maryland the day before my wedding. Sent from my LGL16C using Tapatalk

That's a nice one. Of the 100's of walleye I've caught in the susky & chenango, my biggest 31" was from the chenango. I gotta ask. Where in the hell did you find 25' of water on the chenango? Old gravel pit(Barjo's)behind Lowe's? Sent from my LGL16C using Tapatalk

Funny you should ask! My first experience with one I was on the receiving end. You see my brother made one and I had doubts in it's range. So here I am probably 6-7 years old standing behind a 5'x 5' cardboard picture of a deer because we were in too much of a rush to lean it up on a tree. It felt like 10 minutes had passed so I figured he had shot & missed or the bow broke so I peeked around just as the sharpened stick pierced my eye. Fun times! Sent from my LGL16C using Tapatalk

Aah the brown beaver! We used to hit that on our way to cincinatus lake. The otselic which flows into Whitney point res is a very good trout stream in it's upper reaches.

That must be for the res only? The last I knew the spillway was 5 eyes.Sent from my LGL16C using Tapatalk

It's a fungus(Mushroom). Sent from my LGL16C using Tapatalk

Nice find. Yes sulphur shelf (chicken mushroom)is a fine edible. It does well sauteed in butter or olive oil. I like them alongside a nice steak! Don't remove too much of the fungi from the log and you just might have sulphur shelf for a few years. The outer 1-2" of each shelf is tender. It gets woody towards the center. That's fox season. Yote season has been Oct 1st through til the end of March for at least 5-10 years.Fact of the matter is why not carry. I too doubt you'd ever need it , but stranger things have happened. I'm lucky to have never tangled with a yote since I call them at night and have had them sneak in to literally 10yds behind me. My brother on the other hand did tangle with one a couple years ago after he shot it but it was just stunned. He got bit up on his arms but finally knifed it in the chest. He said they are stupid fast. Sent from my LGL16C using Tapatalk

Michigan Hill State Forest: Pheasants/Grouse

Drove by it a couple years ago, it seemed pretty nice. Bottom land with trails brush hogged through the thickets -
Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while. Shaking like a dog shi++ingg burdocks. You can't beat my meat.

A simple backflush of your heater core can be done with a garden hose and I recommend you do it spring and fall. It sounds like your radiator(and engine block) are either full of rust or stop leak. Did they flush your whole cooling system?

NY outlawed any wild boar hunts(canned or fair chase) after the last fiasco. I see ads for a place down in Tioga,PA that has exotic animals and hogs.

I bought this rest last summer to put on my new bow, but unfortunately my new Martin has a bridged riser and doesn't allow for enough clearance. This rest is brand new in the package and I'm asking $65 local pick up(Canandaigua,NY) or $70 shipped TYD. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/2874326793/g5-expert-ii-drop-away-arrow-rest

2nd grey of the season, crazy night
PREDATE replied to Chris B's topic in Small Game and Predator Hunting
Nice un' I used to get a lot of grays down in Broome co. I'm seeing more reds up here. The grays will also tolerate loud & frantic calls more than reds and yotes -
That sure is a big red! Either that or your buddy is on the dainty side????

Pred hunting is tough but rewarding. I will tell you this though, when the temp drops is one of the times that you shouldn't miss. You see the colder it is, the more they need to eat to survive. So therefore when you ring the dinner bell, they feel more compelled to come in. This is also mating season so vocalizations will be quite effective too. I missed a fox and winged a yote this past Friday night. I took a red the week before

I hunted HiTor during gun and it sucked! It is loaded with sign, but they have so much posted land around that they don't need to step foot on state land during legal shooting time. This was the first year in 20 years of deer hunting that I didn't score at least 1 deer. I'm done with public land! I May have just scored 80 acres to hunt down around PennYan. I'd rather drive 40 minutes and actually see deer than 10 minutes to waste my time.

Although I couldn't possibly care any less about football, we'll be at the in-laws for some good food and good company

Potted meat or deviled ham on club crackers is mighty tasty. Sardines and kipper snacks are delish too. I steer clear from spam and velveeta though.

Odd fruit or nut bearing tree ... So I thought

Haha! Good spot for em. Tim Hortons is garbage -
Since we are talking about PA here I just want to point out that PA has had a year round season on coyotes for years and still can't relax. So I say it is a waste.

That not your father's root beer is too flippin sweet, I could only stomach one. The ginger ale on the other hand is pretty tasty though!
