Oh, I know how that goes. The big reason my g/f bought a shotgun a few years ago to try hunting and the sold it was I made the mistake of taking her into my buddies fathers taxidermy shop. She cried, sold the shotgun, and the 'rule' was created that I can never mount a deer and bring it into our home.

Another member posted this. So, I will kick it off...... How would you hunt if you didn't have trail cams or apps to help scout deer? I have no cams, and I don't use any hunting apps. This year has been fun trying to learn 3 new public land areas. Scouting, learning, meeting up with a fellow member of this site and doing a small game hunt/scout trip, scouting to locate areas for my g/f to be able hunt for her first year, and just over all being in the woods and getting familiar with the new areas I have around me. Looking at runs, locating bedding/feeding.water areas. It's just the essence of hunting! It doesn't get any better then going into areas you have had boots on the ground, know where the runs/rubs/scrapes are, and trying to set up for the terrain and wind.

Awww....Hot coa coa with mini marshmallows and cookies. Got your footed jammies? Just kidding. Good luck Biz! Hope you and your dad arrow a couple monster bucks!

I agree with that. I told her to just get a wool coat in red plaid hunting from the blind. Cost was a bit much. Like I said, I really don't care, was just curious if anyone had seen this pattern on hunting clothing before. Heck, I still have older woodland camo I use and it works.

So........... The better half told me she bought a camo coat for hunting via the web last week. It came today. Not sure where they got the camo pattern, but it's sure nothing I have seen before. Doesn't matter to me really, just a conversation topic. She will be doing most of her hunting from a pop-up blind. Any one ever see this pattern before?

Nice looking bucks. Looks like you and your daughter will be on dandy deer, good luck to both of you. -
Why does she say it can't come back?

That looks like one of those necklaces they wear in those old caveman movies with the teeth from the dino's they slayed. Nice collection Larry.

I would like to see that as well. But, no need for a separate category, there's the "General Hunting" forum for people to post that in. Start a topic up slickrockpack, Pretty sure many of the members on here would chime in. -
Thats because I use a ghillie suit and move super slow so not to trip your cams. Seeing you are going to hunt growies land with myself and TF, it's only fair we get to hunt your land too Biz. LOL

Anyone on here do this? Can't sleep right now, so of course, my dog has to go out every 15 minutes because living out here she hears the yipping and yapping of the coyotes once in a while and gets to curious. So, as I am standing out there with her, I thought about if anyone hunts them at night. I tried it once a long time ago with a buddy to no success.

It's a cog in the political machine. That's why Obama changed the dates after how many hundreds of years? It didn't fit with he and the Clinton's aspirations of US domination. You have to be pretty power hungry to change the DST dates....Just sayin' On a serious note, from what I have read and remember, it was to preserve daylight hours. Most of AZ doesn't even observe it. Me, IDC. Hour here, hour there, it's just time.

Can't be. He won't travel 100 miles to his own land ( ), much less the what, 450 miles from NYC to WNY. The poor guy in those pics is clearly a rookie! He's not toting a cell phone and texting every 5 feet.

Is this Hillary ??
DirtTime replied to Salmon_Run's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
NO! He will make an "Executive Order" that we all need bunkers. I can't afford that crap. LOL -
I did most of my compound bow sight tuning in my hallway. Not allowed to shoot it in my yard ( I did a few times while everyone was at work ). The g/f wasn't 100% happy about it, but she didn't give me any grief about it. Just keep things safe when attempting such drastic measures. It's better to have good glass and be 100% confident then crappy glass and kick yourself for a bad shot or a miss, as Buckmaster7600 mentioned as well.

Nice buck, congrats!

This the same thing I do. Bow or gun, being right handed I try to have my shooting lanes to my left, and set my blinds or sits up accordingly. I also look at the area to pick out a few different ways to get in and set up depending on wind direction. It doesn't always work out, but it's how I like to do things.

Homemade pizza. Sausage, green onions, fresh minced garlic, and pepperoni.
-
I tried a Paulaner Salvator Double Bock. Sorry, pic. Not a fan at all.
-
Sorry to hear about the bow wooly. Hope it's nothing more serious then the sight screws.
-
Ah, my mistake. Sorry. I have heard of restaurants and people making them like a pot pie with a glob of topping here and there calling it chicken and dumplings.
-
I make chicken and dumplings the way my mom made them. Boil either chicken drums or thighs ( guess you could use breasts, but white meat poultry doesn't give the flavor of dark meat ) to get a good broth ( add spices to taste ), and then mix up some bisquick to form a dough like paste, drop spoon fulls of the dough in the boiling water and let them cook till done.

If we stressed about every creepy that can crawl on us in the woods, many people would never step a foot in the woods again. There have been 'studies' done on how many spiders humans eat each year while we are sleeping, just at home. Image about camping....... The big one that bothers me now are ticks. I hate all bugs, call it any technical term for each bug you want, still bugs to me, and I hate them all.
