I'll drive through the snow, to get some of that chili!!!!

Students were released an hour ago. I'm still here. This place gets dead quiet with no kids!!! Snowing pretty good now! View from my office. Worst part is, I won't be able to get to the range this weekend!!! That really is a bummer.....

Had a two hour delay yesterday at school/work. But we are here today. Though the weather people are calling for worsening conditions throughout the day. Was just rain on the way in this morning. But the wind will whip up, with sleet and freezing rain, changing to snow. Been a pretty easy winter, here so far though. Mrs. grampy has already asked me to drive her grocery shopping this evening, as she hates driving in snowy conditions anymore. She is baking for a fundraiser this weekend. I said sure! As long as you put aside some of the goods for me!!!

Another awesome give away jjb! I really like your style man!!

I upgraded to this scale, a year or so ago, from the digital I was using. And love it!! I like to be certain on my powder measurements. This is a very nice, and very accurate scale for reloading. So nice of you jjb, to think of someone else that will get some use out of this great gift!!! Always amazed at the generosity of the members here.

Happy Birthday!!!

Cool project Matt! I'll be following along. Maybe I'll even stop in to see for myself? I'll bring something sweet to share with the coffee? Perhaps you may even allow me to try shooting one of your trad bows?

Great thread, never knew about the castoreum. Cool how you made the knife handle from the tail leather too. Love your posts dinorocks!

We as NYS Hunting Safety Instructors, ALWAYS highly encourage the wearing of blaze orange, or pink at every hunter ed class. And wear it ourselves while giving the course. There is something I will do during field studies. Before the start of the class, I'll take two "stuffed hunters" and place them on a slight uphill. One with a blaze orange vest and hat will be behind a tree about 40 yards up the hill. The second "hunter" will be dressed all in camo, at 20 yards. With some good brush around it, simulating a ground blind situation. When the students get to the station, I'll say there are two hunters here in front of you. Can you pick them out? 90% of the time, the FARTHEST "hunter" in orange will be identified first.

No doubt, the coyote's and fox in your hunting areas, are tucking their tails and slinking off as we speak! -

Corona Virus Thread

I went to a Drs. appointment this morning. Walking into and through, the medical arts building, I saw no less than half a dozen people wearing surgical masks. Never saw that before. And as always, I made a point to use the available hand sanitizer, after touching anything. Even the elevator buttons. I've done this for years though. Too many sick people in medical buildings!....Ha! -
Or charge mileage on your tallywhacker.

American Tactical Omni Maxx Hybrid AR
grampy replied to grampy's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
Question for all you AR guys. Now that I'm ready to go, what type of sling set up do you prefer for predator hunting? Traditional style? Two point? Single Point? What has worked best for you, and why? -
American Tactical Omni Maxx Hybrid AR
grampy replied to grampy's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
A little over $600, with one speedloader and 100 rounds of ammo. I stayed within my budget, for just a fun gun. Optics, light, and laser, I had laying around already. Yes, fixed mag. That way I could get all the other stuff on it, that makes it cool to me. And after trying many different variations, the pistol grip was always the most comfortable for me. And I don't really mind dropping the lower to load, or using a speed loader. I have practiced doing both the last couple days. Then just cycling the action to unload. -
That's what Prince Andy says. So it must be true?

For the highest taxed state in the US, you'd think they would open more opportunities for people to enjoy a little leisure time activity? But no. In NY you gotta pay to play. No wonder more are leaving than coming in. I do love NY for outdoor activities. But hate their blood from a stone policies.

So you think you know coyotes in NY? Do you?
grampy replied to Rattler's topic in Small Game and Predator Hunting
No one knows our land, or our situation better than we do. We'll continue doing what needs to be done, twenty four seven, three sixty five. Every chance we get. Without a hint of guilt or remorse. That said, I do respect the coyote for what it is. And if their numbers were not so overwhelming here, I could even live in peace with them. But that is not the case here. So we try to control the numbers any way we can. Like some have stated in this thread, I feel there should be no closed season on them. -
There ya go Biz ! Chiefs go all the way!
-
That was the worst halftime show ever! That game is not too bad though.
