  1. Another great piece wooly! The wrap around mane is cool! And the color and shading is excellent. Nice work my friend!
  2. Can't say enough, how much I've enjoyed your pic's! Beautiful! Also, your girlfriend has been an absolute trooper! Has the armrest seat kept her comfortable? You are a lucky man! My wife would have told me, "you're on your own"!!!
  3. 4x4. A good sturdy hitch. A winch is always useful at some point. Heated grips, if you plan on much use during cold temps. A mounting system for holding your bow or gun. Or other things. An aluminum, removable "box" on the back rack for carrying "stuff". And like said above, power steering, and as big a motor as you can afford. Though 500 cc is plenty for me, 90% of the time. Oh yeah.....and check back in, with pictures when you get her home!!!
  4. Where the heck were you when I was a young punk! Way to go Larry. You could have rightfully, really put the screws to the kid. But that's not what good guy's do. You my friend are the best. Very nice job on the bumper!
  5. My prayers and good thoughts are with you Eddie. Hoping those Doc's and nice young nurses, are taking good care of you. Also hope you are up and about, feeling better real soon. You take care Ed. We all give a rats ass for you!
  6. A tow behind will be so much better and easier for you! Any way you can make improvements, will benefit the hunting on most any properties!
  7. Can't even imagine the suffering he went through! Hope he pulls through. I wonder if he was using the old strap style harness, instead of the newer full body type with the leg loops? I know for me, every year, I feel less comfortable in a tree stand.
  8. Best of luck to you! Would love to see ya put him on the ground. Then you could give us the "actual score". Not that it matters, he's a trophy regardless. Any way you can hunt higher up on the mountain, where the bucks are bedding? To be up there before light, when they make their way up?
  9. Didn't get to the upper blind at the lake property yesterday. Gonna meet up with Jdubs in the morning, to finish it off. Will be all set after that. Plenty of time to let things soak before hunting. Plots at the farm are doing great now too! Especially after the one was nearly under water, shortly after planting. Looking forward to a hopefully healthier season for me this year! Everything else seems to be falling in place nicely.
  10. Deer certainly love those thickets Rob! Also, anywhere you cut the high grass, like in the top photo, will be a draw with the fresh growth. Looking good over there!
  11. No matter what he scores, that's a beautiful buck! Think you're right in the ballpark with your guesstimate of 120.
  12. Just that one morning with fog and rain, was really obscure. I don't have the other pics with me to show the other critters, from that card pull. They are on the computer at the farm. But like I said, not impressed at all with that new Primos cam. Will most likely pull it, and put a better one in it's place.
  13. No cows in this area for sure. We just swapped cards on this cam. So hoping we get another picture, but clearer. Not impressed with this Primo's Truth Cam 02. My two best guesses are a doe with fawn right behind it. Or a young bear. OR!...... A squatch doing a do do.....idk
  14. We have coyote pic's on this same card pull. This is taller than a coyote. But it does look like a house cat Rob.
  15. That is what my hunting partner and I said when we saw this pic today. There is bear in the area, and that was my first guess. But the forelegs look way to thin. What do you guys think?
  16. Was a great day for doing deer stuff! We did some too! Anxious to see who show up at the mock scrape! Good stuff John.
  17. No problem at all Rob! Was hoping to see and hear about others "getting ready and observations"! Here is more from me. First thing this morning, went to the lake property to move a stand and sure up some ground blinds. Lots of deer sign, in the usual places. Good to go over there! After leaving there went over to the farm property. Put up two new hub blinds. In very promising spots! Have high hopes for these, come rut time! Again plentiful deer sign, but no rubs yet, that we saw. Checked some cams, have few small bucks, doe with fawns, fox coyote the usual array of critters. Oh....and this guy! He has potential. Taken on my "lucky" wooly cam. Also got this pic, but have no idea what it is??? What do you guys think? Bear????
  18. Making family memories is priceless! Great pic's, sounds and looks like you all had a great time! Is there such a thing as a peanut butter and jellyfish shake??? Naw...probably not. grin..
  19. I'd bet there have been mid to high two's taken in NYS. Perhaps even a three hundred pounder? I've read stories about Canadian deer getting near four hundred pounds.
  20. Bermuda. Ain't never been there, they tell me it's nice! We are considering a cruise too. So will follow this thread. Take pictures for us, and enjoy your trip! Safe travels.
  21. Archie! I love it.....lol. Great pic's Biz! Looking good for you this season!
  22. I agree with the others above. Ya gotta hunt where you have the shot. Also about 10 to 12 feet high is perfect. Not too high or low. I use bungee cords around the tree, and stick in pine or hemlock branches behind and below to really break up my outline. The thicker the better. Keep movement to a minimum, and when you do move, do it in slow motion. Good luck! Let us know how ya make out with that spot!
  23. I'm still happy to shoot my scrubby, three year old eight points, on the farm, here at home. Never really cared about putting my name in B&C. In all the years I've hunted deer, I've only seen one deer in the wild, that may have been B&C. And only saw him once. That was in the late 70's hunting the Cooper River bottom, in SC. That said, my dream hunt would be up in the wilds of Canada. Not really for a Booner, but for the experience, and a chocolate colored rack. If I were to book a hunt, to try for a record book deer today, I'd try Kentucky.
