I'm not a bear hunter. But I've seen bears in our local woods for most of my life. And it's very true. You will KNOW it's a BIG bear when you see one. That's exactly what I told my buddy moog, before his recent Canadian bear hunt.

I think it's just a "teenager" two, perhaps three years old. The flat belly, longer appearing legs and ears are the give away. A mature bear will be much more rounded overall, even this time of year. And will have stubby looking Iegs. The head too, will be much more rounded with the snout and ears appearing short and stubby. A front view, would show all this much more clearly.Here is an example of what I am trying to describe.

Older Summit Viper. A very good climbing tree stand! Just Google how to set it up, and find a tree to set it on, about three feet off the ground. Then jump around on it. Looks to he in great shape, with everything there. Good find!

So cool she has that spirit of adventure! Being afraid of heights, I get that queasy feeling just looking at the pic's!

You never know what you will get out of Sonny Gray. Most of his starts, like tonight, are not good. Then here and there the guy can be brilliant. Course he didn't get any run support tonight at all. But he pretty much gave the game away in the 1st, giving up all those runs. Yanks really need some more dependable pitching, to fill out the rotation, for the last half of the season. If there is going to be a postseason, they want to remember. Hoping Yanks win tomorrow. 2 out of 3 from the Sox would still be huge!

Good advice! Though I don't troll, it is true with most anything, the more one pays attention to the details, the more successful one will be.

June is one of the bears most active times of the year. It's mating season for adult bears. And the two year old cubs, just leaving their mother, are searching out a place to call home. It seems like the NY bear population is steadily increasing. Even with more hunting opportunities available in high population areas. Black bear hunting in NY, for the most part, is still more of an opportunity meets the hunter type thing. Not so much, hunters actually going out to exclusively hunt them. Perhaps in the future NY will allow the use of baiting bears, like other higher bear population states do. That will mean more bears killed by hunters, and help keep bear populations in check. Though we have a healthy bear population here, I'm not really a bear hunter. And personally I'm not sure if I was, that I'd bait them. But I do think it could be a way to help control a growing bear population in some areas of NY.

I cut grass after work, then finished up some other yard work. So that's done. Will do some errands tomorrow, truck has AC! Get home, hang in the AC! Sunday's baseball game got moved to 9am from 3pm. So after the game, back to the AC! I wonder how we all survived, before we had AC???

Seems like the older I get, the less I can tolerate hot and humid weather. I do much better when it's cold out.

I have an old Summit Viper and and really like it. Though it's been a few years since I've used it. I'm a good sized guy, and never had an issue with it. For close bow shots, you need to stand though.
