  1. Was just thinking. With youth season fast approaching, anyone ever hunt turkey's in "snow camo"?
  2. So sad. My heart goes out to that poor kid. But this story would have more legs in the media, if the crazy, despicable, b...h, had used an AR. Just the way it seems these days. Sadly enough. Hope she burns in Hell.
  3. Had some chores to do at the farm this morning. Got some snow overnight. Took a ride to the west side of the property and saw these guy's crossing the road. Good to see we have "some" turkey's that made it through a tough winter here!
  4. Just pick me up at exit 25 of the Thruway, on your way! Can't miss me. I'll be the older looking dude, with hunger in his eyes. Holding a sign that says, The Goat Or Bust!
  5. I've eaten from at least a hundred Chinese restaurants here in the US. I've probably eaten one of those without knowing it? Meat is meat, once it hits the wok!
  6. I may have to drive three and a half hours, to get some wings and a burger!
  7. X-2..........That sums it up very nicely! X-2........So does this!
  8. When you buy quality, it's buy once, cry once. Those Redneck blinds are not cheap! But seeing this, it's obvious they are worth what you pay for them! I'm looking to pick up one this summer! Bingo!!!!
  9. I'm for full inclusion. Shoulders are shot, even after a surgery. But it doesn't matter. Full inclusion won't be happening any time soon. Thats just the way it is. When ignorance pervades a political system, charged with passing something they know nothing about. But they sure claim to be experts, on the destructiveness of the dreaded "assault weapons!" And had no problems adding more gun laws in the last session. Go figure. Guess those politicians know much more about guns than crossbows. You for or against, full inclusion of the crossbow? It doesn't really matter. We're all in the same boat here. Divided we fall.......

    Scared?

Now that I think about it, I too, don't personally know anyone, who bought a crossbow, that didn't hunt with a bow previously. And were long time, successful bowhunters.
  11. Welcome! Happy to have you hunting NY! And joining us here at HuntingNY! Hope to hear more from ya! Just pull up a seat, and join right in anytime!

    Scared?

As a member of Deer Search and United Bloodtrackers, I can honestly say that those numbers seem way off base. Over many years, consistently, we've seen that bowhunters with vertical bows, make up the majority of sorties in a given season. Just sayin.....not to argue. But based on my own experience.
  13. I'll start this off by saying I know absolutely nothing about reloading. But I will start this thread for others to follow along with my progress and results. In the hope it will help someone else get started too. There is already a wealth of good information right here on this site. I will be taking advantage of that! And also asking advice from some members here, who have years of experience to pull from. I picked up the reloading kit from Billdogge tonight. Thanks again Bill! So the first thing I need to do, is get started here.....
  14. Mental instability has no boundaries. Doesn't matter if you are 'off your rocker' and, left, right, male, female, treehugger or hunter. If they want to create mayhem, they will figure out something to use. No matter how many gun laws are passed. Perhaps some day mental illness will be the focus of these senseless acts. Not whatever they use to carry them out.

    Scared?

I'm a huge advocate for full inclusion of crossbow. But killed my deer with a compound bow, during the two week crossbow season. The deer is no less dead, no matter what tool I used to get the job done.
  16. Follow your dream, and don't look back.
  17. I will be taking my grandson Zach a time or two. He's playing on three different baseball teams. So we will really have to get creative with his schedule, to make time for a hunt when we can. But this is an awesome thread! And I will be happy to contribute a gift card prize again this year!
  18. Does anyone actually believe that NYS, would pass a NEW law, to make it HARDER, to take away our guns? All you need to do, is look who the ringmaster is, at the circus that is NYS. Come on now.........
  19. Yes absolutely! Thanks Dan! Would also like to have you on the will call list, when something stumps me. And no doubt I will get stumped. Couple others on here have offered help as well. I thank you all! Very much appreciated!! Some great advice right here on this thread!
  20. I love it. The next time I'm asked if I drink or smoke, I'll say only historically.
  21. Thanks again Al! That looks as good as anything I could nail together! And cost effective too!
  22. You are welcome to stop by anytime. But it will be awhile before I start putting any rounds out. Bob is one of the guy's I'm looking forward to helping me get started. So no doubt, he will have you covered with the 458's.
  23. That is exactly what I'm thinking. Right now, until I pick up the kit from Billdogg, this week, I don't even know what I have? Or what I need. I am a complete newby to doing this, and know absolutely nothing. I will be searching here and everywhere, along with reading all I can get my hands on for info. I'm REALLY looking forward to listening to some of the guy's here, that have it all figured out, and have refined all the little things. That may shorten the learning curve for me a bit. Not sure where I am getting the time for a new hobby. But I am anxious to get started! First thing will be to make a bench, just for reloading, down in the basement. I'm pretty excited! My wife just looks at me and rolls her eyes when I start telling her of my plans.......lol
