  1. You got a good one! She has the drive and heart of a great hunting dog. Nice pic's.
  2. Great! Now all ya gotta worry about is where are the deer!......lol Best of luck to you this season!
  3. Best of luck to ya moog! Could this be the year of the 30 pound fish and the 30 inch wide buck? That would be sweet! Hey ya never know........
  4. I don't need a number in some book, to tell me that is a deer, any hunter would love to put a tag on!
  5. I'm happy with my Primo's triggerstick bipod. I'm sure you will be too.
  6. As long as you are off the beaten path over there, your stands and cam's should be ok. Not nearly as many hunters there as years past. But even on private land there is no guaranty against theft. Good luck over there on the run. I responded to your PM a couple days ago. Contact me anytime, if I can help ya out, I will!
  7. Was this in the Partridge Run area? I'm hearing of a few good size bears over there.
  8. Gut them where they lay. Most times yote's and crows among other critters will have the pile cleaned up within a day or so. Your scent in the area from gutting the deer will alarm them more than the gut pile itself.
  9. There was one on the albany craigs list not too long ago. C.L. might be worth a look.
  10. Had a one legged girlfriend once. Her name was Eileen.
  11. Robin, thank you for taking me along with you on another trip! Your video's are very pleasant to watch. The camera angles, editing and music are outstanding! Are you planning a fall trip, with the fall foliage as a backdrop? Thanks for posting and look forward to seeing more! This is an awesome thread!
  12. You are right of course! I'll find out this weekend, how my gun likes them. It shoots the Nosler BT's very well. And most likely I'll hunt with them this season. So if anything, I will have fun shooting the fusions this weekend. Can never have too much trigger time!
  13. I recently picked up a couple of boxes of the Federal Fusion in 140 gr. for my 7mm/08. Got a deal on them for $50 on two boxes. I will get out to shoot them this weekend, and was wondering if anyone out there has used them and if they will perform well on deer from 20 out to 250 yards.
  14. The Federal B.T. is a good place to start. Buy a box and see how they do. They should shoot just as good from your Ruger as they do from your Browning. Good luck!
  15. Being that it's a friends property, my reaction would be quite a bit different than if it was my property. I would ask your friend if he is friendly with the neighbor. If he is, perhaps a talk explaining what you found will work and ward off hard feelings between them. Maybe the landowner himself doesn't even know, it could be a relative hunting the property. That's the nice guy approach. Since this garbage is on their land, you don't want to trespass to leave a note or take it down. But a 4' x 4' white sign with blaze orange, WTH, or something to that effect, facing the mess, might get his attention. Or call the guy and tell him he has one week to get rid of it or DEC will be involved. That's the not so nice approach. Take pictures and get the gps and call DEC and let the chips fall where they may. Or call to ask him if he is going poaching this season! And his feeders are now full of holes. That's the take no prisoners approach. Speaking only for myself, I would work my way down the list until the crap was gone.
  16. Yup. Good luck hunting with your young cousin this season!
  17. If you don't HAVE to go in there, then stay out till you hunt. Unless you have multiple sets over a large area. Then possibly you could use a late season set, now, that won't be hunted for quite a while. Good advice already given about just duplicating the shot close to home.
  18. Perfect!! Beautiful job! The idea with the fence post and barb wire from the property where the buck was taken was spot on. It made a nice euro mount of a great buck into an eye popping trophy.

So true! I hunt properties only a few miles apart . Have seen many times where one property is dead and the other is blowing up with activity. Only to switch around in the next week or so. Really the best advice, is to hunt every day you can. And spend as much time in the deer woods as possible during the last week of October through November. Because hey, you never know!
  20. Bowhunting October Whitetails is one of the best hunting video's ever made! IMO. Try to take a walk around the fields. At certain points you will find where main deer access trails enter the field. Try to set up inside the woods from the field 50 yards or so and down wind from the trail. The older bucks will stage here until dark so be ready for them! You will find a number of these runs on this property. Try to pick one that will give you a downwind access, to slip in and out with as little disturbance as possible. Looks like an awesome property to hunt! Best of luck to you this season!
  21. The worse day of hunting is still better than the best day at work. I know it's been said many times. But how true it is. Good luck to you out there!
  22. Awesome bucks, but they will most likely die of old age if not hit by a car. With little or no hunting access it is cool, to at least see what a few years of age can do for a whitetail buck.
  23. Being in the woods during a rain can be so soothing to the soul. This time of year, all you need is a light rain jacket and you are good to go. If you get a shot, well that's good too. If you made time to go, just go! If you are like me, you wont regret it!
