  1. Make a report with the local PD. Hopefully they will step up patrols in that area in the future. And if they catch the shirthead, breaking into another place nearby, perhaps they can tie him to your break in and maybe you get some stuff back. If you put out expensive cell cams, what's to say they won't steal those too? Get a regular trail cam and hide it along the driveway, where you can at least get a discription of the dirtbag's vehicle to pass along to the police. Too bad this happened to you. Hope you get your stuff back.
  2. Nice hideaway for those cold drizzling days! Great job brushing it in, too!
  3. Nice pic's! Not fat, just big boned........lol
  4. I have the Savage Axis in 7mm-08 and it is a very accurate for a low budget rifle. Have heard good things about the Ruger American too. I upgraded the trigger spring and put better glass on it and am very happy with the performance. These days, $500 or less can get you a very accurate rifle. Glad your insurance came through for you. And I hope scumbags that stole your stuff, have bad mojo come back to them 100 times over.
  5. You can't really blame an outfitter if you didn't do your homework. Did you check references from past deer hunters? Did you check the number and quality of mature bucks killed in that area? Did you call the outfitter and talk to him or any of the guides about expectations you and he had? Perhaps early season very hot weather shut down deer activity? Did you ask about that possibility? These are all basic questions that should have been asked BEFORE booking any hunt. Sorry that your hunt was not what you expected. But if you didn't do your part, what did you expect?
  6. No, I don't have a permit for Leggo deer.
  7. Always manage to leave the ONE thing I NEED, out of my pack! But don't know it until I look for it.
  8. Unless the land owner is hunting the property himself, the dog walkers will get the right of way. You will just have to deal with it or find a less crowded place to hunt.
  9. Congratulations on the doe and nice tracking job! Must be a bad year for bee's. Hit two ground nests while clearing brush on the new property this past week.
  10. Welcome, nice to have you stop by.
  11. Great pic's of a great buck! Hope to see you in a pic with him soon!
  12. It's "way bigger" than anything we have on trail cam.
  13. What?????........ Oh yeah, wish I would have used ear protection more, when I was younger.
  14. I think all your hard work and dedication will pay off nicely for you in that area!
  15. Congrats on your new bow! I'm sure your anticipation for the upcoming season just went up another notch. Really nice bow!
  16. Congratulations on a nice bull and a dream come true! Just awesome!
  17. Some antibacterial eye drops may help, but I would have it checked out.
  18. There is a lot of hunting pressure around the properties I hunt. The farm I hunt, borders state land. So for me, the closer I am to the thick stuff, the more deer I see. You can't just bumble and bash your way in. You must move slowly and pick your way in carefully, ALWAYS, with the wind to your advantage. I don't go in the middle of the thick stuff, but as close to the edge as I can get away with. This works well especially after the first few days of firearms season. We have some beautiful open hardwoods and field edges. But you will sit a long time before you see a deer during daylight hours in those places. And chances of seeing a mature deer are almost nill, unless you get close to where they are. In the thick stuff.
  19. A few years back, I shot a doe early in the morning. Gutted and dragged her out. Went back to the same spot later that day to look for a knife I had left there. After getting almost to the spot, I see a deer coming down the same way the doe did earlier. Turned out to be a nice 8 point that I shot about 20 yards from where I shot the doe. My hunting partner went to the same stand a few days later and he too shot a buck. So if you see a deer you want, take it. The old saying, don't let a deer go on the first day that you would shoot on the last day, holds true. Depending on the area, you may not get another chance.
  20. Shoot, shovel, shut up. Repeat as needed.
  21. I use the Samsung Galaxy 3 ,tablet. Pretty cheap.easy to use. It's what I use to come here, or internet, or texting.
