  1. When bow season arrives I'll be ready. No changes in equipment. Will shoot sporadically between now and then, at the club and the farm, to not burn out my shoulders. I'm looking at redemption on a huge Pine Bush buck, I had to let down on last November. If I can pull it off, he will be my biggest bow buck in over 40 years of bow hunting.
  2. Not so much as other options. In mid November when gun season starts, the hay and clover have usually mostly turned brown and gone dormant due to frost. But the winter wheat is still green and tasty to deer at that time. Along with standing corn and or beans that have been left uncut in the fields for them.
  3. Or perhaps the bright red Target store logo???...............hehehe
  4. Happy Fathers day to all the dad's and granddad's out there!
  5. Happy Birthday moog! Happy Birthday Arcade Hunter! All the best to ya guys, on your special day!
  6. I just recently did the same thing on an old bow kill whitetail before we moved. The mount was pretty shabby, so I just saved the antlers. That is a very nice elk!!! Bet there is a great story of the hunt.
  7. Hmmmmm...... What would you rather see, firearms or crossbows early on? I find it strange that before bow, they are willing to allow firearm hunting. But didn't implement full inclusion for crossbow? I'd much rather have the crossbow over gun hunting, for early season doe control where needed. JMO. Not trying to start another crossbow debate!
  8. Very nice! Lots of family fun there!
  9. I love deer, and watching them. Pretty cool to make a nice livelyhood out of doing that I think. Though high fence hunting is not for me, or FS either, (as he hunts the other side). Supplying for the demand of it, is work that many of us might enjoy. Though no doubt dealing with all the rules and regulations may be a real pain. Nothing wrong with having a nice gig that you enjoy doing, and pays well. Thanks for the new pictures! Keep em coming. Cool to see what selective breeding turns out.
  10. I got two of those too. They are great for gun hunting! Super easy to set up and take down. I'm not much smaller than you, and it's plenty roomy for me. And the chair is pretty comfy too. The carrying sack has backpack straps as well.
  11. I work for a public school district. No end in sight for mask removal. But I feel liberated going maskless anywhere outside of work!
  12. Man, if I could, I'd love to go and hang out with ya at the game Tacks!
  13. Perhaps not singing yet, but definitely warming up!! As a lifetime Yankee fan, not sure if I've ever been as disappointed, as I am in this team and manager. They got nothing, and are showing nothing. except taking huge amounts of money to the bank. Among the best in baseball in that regard!!! Can't keep saying "we need to get better" after every loss, and still play with no spark or continuity at all. At this point the best they can do for us fans, is to sell out big at the trade deadline. Get a huge influx of young hungry talent. And start the rebuilding process.
  14. WARNING!!! He ain't DED! Just trying to lure you closer!
  15. For what you are looking to do, the Ameristep Doghouse will be perfect Leland. They are definitely not top of the line blinds. But for the price of less than $100, they do well. If staked down well, even stand up to some pretty heavy wind. Doghouse may be a bit small for shooting a bow though.
  16. If you are just putting it up for a few days, the Ameristep blinds are economical enough, comfy and roomy too. I use them quite a bit, as I have 4 or 5 of them. Only issue is they won't hold up to a heavy snow, unless you brace the center. I like to put them up near heavy cover, overlooking bedding areas. Also a dry get away spot for when the rain and drizzle hits, or you want to get out of the wind.
  17. It's a no brainer to go to South Shore Marina on Saratoga Lake, and pay a bit more. As opposed to using the state launch which is always a nightmare!!! SSM is a breeze to put in and take out! Worth every penny extra! Same is true for most all popular lakes. Pay more.....stress less.
  18. The online boat course may really help her Larry. Lots of things in there to help a new boater keep safe.
  19. More and more, state boat launches are a nightmare, and I try to avoid them when possible. I will gladly pay more to launch at a smaller, less crowded marina or private place. Just too much of people who have no clue to boating etiquette, or even basic knowledge of how to back a trailer. It only takes one numbskull to tie up an entire launch for half an hour, making the line behind them longer, and more frustrated! Funny how during a tournament, 40 boats can be launched in half an hour!!! Also, I prefer very early in the morning times, and off the water before the "crowd" hits. Along with going mid week fishing, whenever I can swing it. I have at times tried to help people at the launch. Usually new boat owners, or women trying to take the kids out by themselves. Just to help keep the line moving! A favorite tip I give for backing a trailer is... "Put your hand on the bottom of the steering wheel.... Move your hand in the direction you want the trailer to go"!! SIMPLE! Other tips...... Take a boating course if you are new to boating to learn the rules. Also about boat launch etiquette. Is the plug in???(don't laugh, this is important! Captains sole responsibility here!) Is the motor ready to start/primed??? Have the boat loaded with everything you will need, and ready to go, before moving to the launch. Have the boat unstrapped, except for only the winch strap before moving to the launch. Keep a long rope tied to the boat, and pull it off to the side, out of the way after launching. Reverse this when loading. When possible with two people, after launching start the motor and SLOWLY move out of the launch and circle, until your partner comes back from parking the trailer. Then SLOWLY move back in, and pick him or her up. Teaching your significant other, or a buddy how to back and park the trailer, or to load the boat, is well worth the effort!!! As hard as it is, try to keep patient and help when you can. This "may" speed up the process, but many times not. Too many take exception to someone just trying to help! For some really good free entertainment, just go to any state boat launch around noontime on a weekend, to just sit and watch!!!
  20. Thanks for the link Bob. As I don't do facebook either. Good luck to all participating!!!
  21. If a legal voter cannot, or will not, give a simple ID to vote, perhaps they have a reason to be suppressed???
  22. Thing is.... I need to have ID to do ANYTHING else in today's society. Even getting a book from our local library requires an ID. One would think that having voter ID, would be at least as important as borrowing a book from a small library? That is, unless one does not care about voter fraud and vote misrepresentation??? Keeping our vote free from ANY, and ALL, fraud is essential to keeping the foundation of our constitution, from being subjected to any doubt. ANY doubt, only fans the fires of injustice. As we are seeing now throughout our government, with too many questions, and not enough answers.
