Thanks so much everyone!!! Ran out of "likes"........ Had a great day doing a bunch of little things, making the new house our home. Kids and wife took me out to one of my favorite restaurants for surf and turf. It was delicious as always. Just sat down in my reading room, to relax and enjoy the rest of the evening with a crown and 7!! Never would have guessed 40 years ago, that I'd be this blessed.

Gotta love "old guys" like that...... You have a fine, classic, deer thumper with that Rem 760. It will serve you well for a lifetime. Be sure to send the old man pictures of the deer you kill with his old rifle. And also stop by, to tell him all the details when ya can. Bet he'd really like that. Looking forward to the pictures! The optics of today, are so much nicer than they were even a couple of decades ago. But if you like what's on there, by all means use it!!! -

Most Native Americans consider the owl to to be the go between, this world, and the spirit world. I was told this on my many trips to the reservation, where my grandmother was raised. I believe this to be true, and the owl has always been my "spirit bird". The tribute to Lee is beautiful. He smiles down now, like he does whenever you hear the call of the owl, with your brothers voice on his wings.

Snakes don't bother me too much. Saw lots of em when I lived in SC for a number of years. The woods are full of both venomous, and non venomous varieties down there. Leaned a lot about them. But spiders?? I scream like a school girl!!!

This is exactly what I do too. Started doing it last summer, all through deer season, and up to now, not one tick on me! Just mix 20 to 1 with distilled water, put it in a spray bottle or old Sawyers bottles, and good to go!

Update...... We will finally be moving in on Saturday! Been a crazy couple of months with many 14 hour days, along with my wife needing surgery and treatments recently. Also, the busiest time for me at work. But I keep pushing on! We will both be ok, but everything hitting at once is taking a toll for sure. Can't wait to begin the next chapter of our lives in our "forever home".......

One of the hardest things to do, is to make that call, and let them go. You and Gus will both know it's time, when you look into each other's eyes. My last dog Sam, was full of cancer, and he finally just gave me a look of "can you help me"? At the vets, he slipped away quietly, while I held him tightly, and sobbed uncontrollably. We will meet again some day, over the rainbow bridge.
