  2. Flies are addicting to tie, but as I'm sure you've heard before, the fly is more for the fisherman than the fish most times! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  3. I have 2 summit vipers and maybe because I use them religiously it's become second nature but mine packs up really easy, quiet, the seat is like sitting in a recliner, only thing I added were padded backpack straps. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  4. Yep, if it's a doe I hold her back feet while I get up in the truck bed and pull her up, for a buck I do the same but hold the antlers. Never had any trouble. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  5. Great day on the lake floating skein on centerpins, love watching float drops! Doubles! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  6. You'll have to keep us posted on the FXL, that was my number 2 when researching, I like longer ATA bows. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  7. Spitfire Maxx. I've shot and killed with a lot of broadheads but keep coming back to the spitfires. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

  9. Shot out to 70yds with my broadheads today, forgot to take target pics but I did get a setup pic. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  10. I have one of the cheap Chinese knockoff cams, while it is cheap and has some features generally reserved for high end cameras, mine doesn't take very good pictures. It'll work, you can see what is in front of the camera but it is a bit grainy. The one I have is a "Victure" brand from Amazon. I don't think I'll be buying any more cameras that are non cellular now though, for $120 I can get instant pictures without ever touching the woods is incredible and should help a lot this fall to know what is going on. 12. Stoneflies and different color copper John's and glo bugs are hard to beat in various sizes are what you'll want. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  13. Jigs and sacs Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  14. The knockoff heads from China will not come in packaging like that and they are generally pretty careful about not putting the knockoff name anywhere. Those are not knockoffs. The knockoffs come in plastic baggies generally. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

  18. I think a lot of people expect a level of accuracy that's not easily attainable by autoloaders also, a BAR is not going to shoot as accurately as a quality bolt gun. Simple as that. But then again, you don't need to be shooting sub MOA groups to kill a deer at 65yds or whatever limited range most of us shoot in NY. I've still got my BAR, killed a lot of deer with it, but every bolt gun i have will outshoot it as far as accuracy goes, am I that bothered by it? Nope. I just take the BAR when I don't expect real long shots (150yds +)... Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  19. I've got a BAR Longtrac stalker in 30-06 and it only likes 180gr projectiles. With those loads it'll hold a 1- 2" group at 100 yds, but I shot 150gr loads as that's what I wanted to feed it but same as you, poor accuracy. I've got a Remington 700 CDL that hates anything lighter than 180 also, I'm talking pie plate groups at 100yds with 150's. But throw 180's in it and it'll shoot an inch or less, I was quite amazed at the accuracy with 180's actually. Every gun is different, I'm guessing you just got a picky one like I did. 20. I'd say 3 all day. He'll look a lot different in a month or two. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  21. I have zero issues with people shooting coyotes, trust me. I kill every one I have the opportunity at during season. It's the dragon toothed, oversize, wolf howling, bloody moonlit coyote image people try to portray that really gets me. Theyre a large fox, that's all. The people that are putting this bloodthirsty image out there are the ones who are scared of coyotes. You speak as if you have no real knowledge of coyote behavior but you're the one who's always speaking about them. Coyotes can become overpopulated I suppose, but let's remember they are territorial and lock up a large tract of land as their own. This is the reason you don't see packs of 15 coyotes. So when you say something like "we have large packs running these hills every night" you sound foolish. And it's always, "Well if we had a year round season I could kill them all!" Well where are you during their lengthy season?? Sitting on the couch complaining about them? Or out hunting them? When I brought up the deer fawning period the last time and mentioned "Predator Swamping" that is nature's way of ensuring some little ones survive. This is also why it's important to for a quick, intense rut in the fall, so that the fawning window is that much shorter. So, in other words, that coyote that gets a fawn every few days if it's lucky, only has 15 days to do it, not 30. I apologize if I'm coming off as trying to belittle you, that's not the case at all. I'm just so sick of the countless threads every year that have a bunch of hyped up misinformation and blaming coyotes for a hunters own dismal season. Coyotes are an important part of the ecosystem and frankly a damn impressive and pretty animal and I'm glad that I have the opportunity to witness them in the wild occasionally. I hope you have a good season, no hard feelings. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  22. I only hunt state land and I run 5-7 cameras every year. I've had 2 or 3 stolen. I usually buy cheaper cameras knowing I may never see them again. Not putting them in obvious spots and making sure they blend in well is important. I've even put them 8ft off the ground with a climbing stick. I have a few hangons out there too, then I'll carry my climbing sticks to access them. Mostly though I just use my climber. I don't hunt just any stateland either though, I only hunt the lighter pressured ones for the most part. You can do everything on stateland you can do on private ground, you just have to be cognizant you might lose some stuff. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  23. 48 is a big yote, but a far cry from 60. I follow a fair amount of coyote contests. PA has quite a few, a 60# coyote is like a 200" buck. The average weight of an adult coyote is 35lbs. Do you actively hunt coyotes or shoot them only while deer hunting? Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  24. I enjoy processing my own deer. Only ever had one of the 60+ processed and only because it was HOT outside and I killed two that day. The whole hunt feels like it comes full circle at the end, somehow me not finishing what I started feels off to me. It's also a good anatomy lesson of sorts. I know people who have it in their heads that you need all sorts of equipment to process deer, not true. Freezer bags and a good fillet knife is all you really need (beer also helps). Not to mention I average 3-4 deer per year and I'd spend hundreds of dollars for someone else to do it, I'd rather put that money into more gear. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
