  1. Yeah that might explain the fawn with spots that went sprinting by my stand in late October only a few minutes before my 6 point bow buck came thru.
  2. You mean Simba might have to die?!?! Are they taking volunteers to help? I'm in!
  3. Isn't that how the legal system works, innocent until proven guilty? I am giving this guy the benefit of the doubt saying he was living a normal life until he started shooting people. Like I said "mental illness" is the new buzz word to help those that are committing crimes get that insanity plea and don't end up incarcerated for life. Or to take away peoples guns either way it is a loose loose for your average citizen.
  4. I sound like an idiot because I call you out on your way of thinking? Rigghhhtttttt... My point is that the person is just as mentally stable as anyone not in a mental institute. If you picked up a gun and started killing people you made a conscious decision to do it. That doesn't make you mentally ill, it just means you made a bad decision and should be held accountable for it. This mentally ill argument the media and politicians are throwing around means nothing it is a stay out of jail free card.
  5. Do you think before you speak/type? We are talking about a person that knowingly picked up a gun and killed people. If someone was driving down the road and starting veering off the road running people over on purpose would it make it any different?
  6. Well said, My father and I have had enough over the last few years. We were never the type of people to say ill about anyone but we are fed up and making our voices heard even tho we are only 2 people. We are hoping others around us are doing the same.
  7. I was thinking the same thing. Last I knew they food not slow the taking of antlered deer on nuisance permits. At least that is the way it was 2 years ago in Yates county.Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  8. You say you gauge deer by weight but I have never seen a spike that out weighed a mature buck. A rutted out buck (in my case this past season) weighed 168lbs. Only saw 1 spike that came close and was the one above I mentioned. If you truly hunt for meat why shoot many small deer instead of many large deer. What you described is backwards thinking. As nature works the genetically inept usually don't get to breed the mature does as they are ran off by more mature bucks granted if there is a high doe to buck ratio that might not always happen. If the mature deer in that area are scrub bucks then they will be smaller raked mature deer. Studies have shown that as all deer mature they grow antler AND point wise. Eventually those spikes and 4 points grow into 6 and 8 points. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  9. You mind if I share the survey with a few people that aren't on here? Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  10. There isn't much truth to that. I have seen first hand a spike that was a spike for 2 years straight then the 3rd year he was a high 8 and didn't make it another year. Here is a photo of him as the 8, nevermind the little guy behind him. Either way that is the mentality that a spike will always be a spike. It just isn't true, as deer mature they will grow in antler mass. If you are that concerned with it take a kid hunting and let him/she cull the deer for you. Here is the deer I shot this year 2 years ago. Here he is this year. They get bigger just need the time!
  11. I tell them I will send them your way if they need to rob/kill someone defenseless. That is when you look around and see them picking their jaws off the floor. I don't try to take other people's rights away and they are entitled to them as I am to mine, So I don't expect them to take my rights away although they try.
  12. One thing I would have added is the ability to choose a WMU in a check list or at least the region(s) people hunt.
  13. Hey I just turned 30 don't make me older than I am! Haha I want to see some chronograph data from this thing. It seems like at the 40 yard mark it drops like a lead balloon. I think the MV is 450 fps but it drops off very quickly and it really didn't seem A LOT faster than most bows. Definitely louder than any bow I have shot, like mentioned above I saw and heard it shot at the show it was louder than a .22LR closer to that of a .22 mag. Granted we were also inside a 100x200ft. building.
  14. Wait..you mean it isn't real?!?! I feel scammed! haha I get that but I mean at least have the gun go off a couple more times. That and the twists in the story line aren't as good as they have been in the past. I wonder if they have changed/added different writers.
  15. Comment here! I have to say that I where I hunt in the Southern Tier the is Amish surrounding or people like the Amish surrounding the area and I see maybe 6 different deer at most the entire season. Come gun season they are gone! How about the DEC starts to fine them for not calling in tags and over harvesting deer they don't have tags for.
  16. Anyone start to loose interest this season? For some reason it isn't doing it for me anymore. I caught up and binge watched 5 episodes but I don't think I will be watching anymore I have gotten bored with it. Always the same thing, perfect head shots no matter what gun and 1 handed pistol head shots at 20 yards.
  17. Get one of the harbor frieght vibratory cleaner. I got one for x-mas a few years ago and bought the Lyman walnut shell media it works great. I little advice leave spent primers in while tumbling for 2 reasons. First being you won't need a pick to get the media out of the primer pockets/holes, reason 2 you won't have loose primers. Some won't agree with me but I haven't had an issue with my primers going in or firing with "dirty" primer pockets. Another thing I learned do NOT clean primer pocket with one of those wire brush things you will enlarge the pocket and primers will fall out.
  18. My buddy asked me to do a rabbit tournament with him but 3* is cold to be out waking around. I don't know that the rabbits will be out either.
  19. Bought my ML probably 8 years ago and have yet to kill an animal with it. I shoot most if not all the deer I need by the 3rd week of gun season (including bow). If I couldn't use my rifle I would be using my smoke pole instead of my shotgun.
  20. They work well then use the trickler to get it right on. That is what I currently do.Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  21. I use them for follow up shots for wounded game. I've found the heavier hollow points work better than the heavy round or flat nose. I definitely agree there are cheaper options. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  22. Yup built one with my grandfather about 20 years ago. We also elevated it 20' off the ground. Inside picture Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  23. 9mm and .40cal and soon to be .380I reload mostly heavier bullet loads that are tough to find or more expensive than I can reload with. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  24. For the price I would just save a little more and get one of those automatic feeder scales. This is what I'm talking about, but have seen it cheaper. http://www.amazon.com/Hornady-Lock-Load-Auto-Charge/dp/B003O20UOW
