  3. Wait till we get some real Snow that's the real test.
  4. A fellow down the road has been using a Remy. in the past 760 and now a 7600 in .308 , he has shot deer as close as 30 yards and out to 200 yards and the all dropped very close from where they were standing.
  5. I am on my second one , first one did not do anything and it lasted threw 3 winters before it was shot ( doghouse blind ) , faded dried out and the poles broke. The second one I did as they wanted you to do an sprayed a few coats of anti fade spray and have it between 3 trees with cord tied to the top loops to keep the snow from collapsing it . It made it threw last winter and I have pictures of every type of animal and birds that are in the area walking by and eating next to it. Never used any kind of sent stuff at all.
  6. http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/30409.html At least in My Area the finally came to there sences and are making it hard to get a permit this year. The amount of deer have been on a steady decline. The woods realy need a thinning out here , not the deer. They are most likely hitting the farmers crops because the woods are so thick with little if any brouse.
  7. It might be different in the NZ but when I took my LTD test in the SZ you had to notify the NYS police also where and when you would be tracking ,if you had to dispach a deer , so that they could answer the many phone calls about gunfire near a person's house. Sent from my VS880 using Tapatalk
  8. As I am former NYSLTD lic. holder, You should know that you have to contact your local NYS Police before going to track any wounded game. I would think there would be more of them in the area you are going to hunt then DEC people. I would contact them and see what the have to say. Question has your dog been trained in blood tracking or is it your common hunting dog that can pick up a sent pretty good.
  9. I have one of them for 4 years now use it for leaf blowing and ( if you have a LAB. ) mine is yellow and he loves to ride in the car or truck. I give the rides a good cleaning with it, Also blow the snow off in the winter. Very handy tool.
  10. Bill take a look at this ,http://www.hookandbullet.com/cn/fishing-delaware-ny/
  11. 18' for 4 people , if you have any young ones they are not going to sit in 1 place too long. 16' is good for 3 adults fishing, not with children.
  12. The branches add up pretty fast , I have a pile 30' long by 10' wide x 10' high and I just got started and that was while there were just buds on the branches. Got side tracked and have to get back at it soon.
  13. I have 2 of them 1 is proberly the original that my mom had and one that I bought 50 years ago , I made or repaired so many things in that time it would fill a page or two to list the , such as arrow quivers from deer hides to repairing load binder straps. A very handy thing to have around.
  14. What are weeds to You might just be Food for the wildlife in your area . I would buy 1 or 2 trail cams. and set them up on or near the property. Check them when you go to the property and see what if anything is feeding on what is there first, before rushing into doing things.
  15. Had 3 hens and a jake outside the house window this morning 7:00 am about 15 feet. They hung around for 10 minutes or so. No reason to shoot because I only eat the ,Breast , not going to kill one just for that. Let them make more young ones.
  16. Rent a Mini back hoe and dig it out then dig the holes for the apple trees while you have it there , you can always fill the holes with straw in the mean time .
  17. Have one for many years , even use while up in my ladder stand.
  18. .222 , wanted something light on the sholder. Sent from my SM-T817V using Tapatalk
  19. Remy. ADL action , Shilen bbl. ( not as thick as it looks in the pic. ) 1 in 12 twist . Remmy. Varm. stock ( pillow and glass bedded ) 3x9 bushnell scope I had sitting on the shelf. Waiting for a nice calm day to sight it in.
  20. Looking good , one word of caution , the butcher block tops have a tendency to come apart under a heavy load as a stuck case in a press.,I had it happen and I had to add a metal plate on the bottom side to keep the load off of one area.
  21. Busy as H*** cutting, splitting and and stacking next winters firewood , weather permitting. Also clearing small spots for food plots.
  22. Google it. there are too many places to list for both ammo and cases.
  23. Bought a Marlin 336 in 30 -30 ,with a scope mounted on it this year. the old eyes are not as good as they were 60 + years ago.
