  1. I dug a little hole with my bucket loader in the woods on one of there travel paths, 5' x 6' x 1-1/2' deep . Fed by a wet weather spring. Set up a cam. and have pictures of all types of animals and birds hitting it, In the summer the deer go so far as to walk in it. Quite a few people us the plastic water tanks from TS and they work also.
  2. Hope you have a quick recovery Eddie, Had them a number of times some passed , some blasted and the last one plucked out the way they just did yours, before they pulled the stent out I had a blood clot and the pain from that was almost as bad as the stone.
  3. This happened last week. Ordered some small and light items from a business 37 miles away. from my PO. we do not have delivery to our house,we have PO Boxes. The business sent the items in a small box by Priority Mail , they said it might take 2 to 3 days. Now here is the part I do not understand. The package went from the PO where the business is to Springfield , MA =192 miles from there to Lakehurst , NJ =226 miles , from there to Albany , NY = 212 miles , to the main PO nearest to me = 88 miles to my PO Box 5.2 miles and 1 week later I got the small ,light box. When I do go to the town where the business is , on the way there on the same route there always are mini vans to tractor trailers bring supplies up to the area where Ilive, again 37 miles away.
  4. The only time I had to renew is when the went to laminated lic. In our county. Sent from my SM-T817V using Tapatalk
  5. 18 degrees and snowing lightly here now , they are saying another 3" to 5" Tuesday and flurries the next 2 days.
  6. And a firearm at my side.
  7. X2 that is what I did also. If you go to Dell's website You can build a desk top the way you want it or talk to there rep. and they can do it for you, with out a bunch of junk that the stores put into them that you will not use.
  8. If you are talking about the Grand Gorge area, right now is not the ideal weather and temp. for planting. I would wait until March at least. Oak trees are going to take quite a number of years to produce acorns, Apple , pear would be good. Pine and hemlock for shelter. Berrie plants the more the better. You might want to talk to the people at the Catskill Forest Assoc. they could tell you what to cut and what to save and what to plant, they are hunters also.
  9. I did a small plot last year with one of the mixes, did a good amount of soil prep , with plenty of lime and fert. , they were hitting it almost every day, in the fall I put some winter rye down and they liked that also.
  10. Pulled the card out of my cuddy back cam yesterday it had a nitetime picture of an 8 pointer mounted on a doe 9, PM on the 31 of December, it did not record the temp. that night. Sent from my SM-T817V using Tapatalk
  11. My Dad had one made out of cast iron for the bottom with a hand crank blower attached. He did make a 3 sided sheetmetal hood about 3' high curved at the top with the back removable. My job was turning the crank handle when he would wan't to get a piece real hot. I wish I had kept it, Still have the anvil though.

I just hope you are a big boned large frame person.
  13. Cover containers with hay or straw if the garage gets cold., Yes they will grow apples but not for a few years as long as they get pollinated.Put some thin walled pvc about a foot high at the base of the trees , slit it on one side so you can get it off latter on,buy some 2" x 3" fencing and put it around each tree higher then the branches, Deer love to eat the buds off until the trees get high enough.
  14. Many years ago where I worked the people handeling heavy material had to wear shoes with a steel toe ,one time at this time of the year a fellow was moving a 6" thick x 5' wide x 10' long aluminum plate that slid off of the skid on to his foot , there he was lieing in the snow with the plate on his foot, a fork lift came and lifted up the plate. they had to cut the sole of the shoe apart to get his smashed foot out. ever since that day I never wore steel toe shoes or boots. Composite material would be my choice , more so in this weather.
  15. I guess I will have to take my mini torch with me today to unlock my trail cams. minus 5 degrees out there now, going up to 20. Not a thing moving out there now.
  16. A see I said in the Catskills. Sent from my SM-T817V using Tapatalk
  17. Going to need your long handles tonight -1 actual temp. wind chill - 15 here tonight., winter is here in the Catskills .
  18. Is this your property or does it belong to someone else ?. Sounds like a good spot.
  19. I have had many remy. shotguns and rifles threw the years and only had 1 a 742 that would not hit the bulls eye at 50 or 100 yards, with the iron sights or a couple of scopes and mounts that we tried. After many gun smiths and checking we found that the receiver was drilled or bored and threaded on a very slight angle enough to put the bbl. on a slight angle to the left. I bought it used and the dealer gave me my money back.I just put a deposit on a factory remy. bdl. action for a upcoming build. This thing is the smoothest moving stock factory action I ever felt ,I would say as smooth as some of my custom bench rest actions. So you can get good and bad from any manif.
  20. I have 2 Leupold scopes one VX -3 2-8x 33 and one 3-9 x 40 both are clear but I would go for the 3-9 x 40 . I am pretty sure Redfields are made by Leupold now and sold as there cheaper line .
  21. Which model, been looking at there S/S and U/O . Lower priced ones
  22. At one time on Long Island they were jacking deer with .22's with the mufflers from VW Beatles as silencers attached to the front of them at night time,Most of the time it were bucks with a nice rack that they would sell. I guess a deer standing there eating would be an easy target and you could get a good shot placement.
  23. The videos make the hinge cutting look easy ( they must have done many trees ) Go slow , if you cut too deep they snap off and you wind up with firewood, even on trees with a 6" dia.I am thinking of making one of the long handled hooks that they use to pull the trees over, it might help on snapping tree trunks. They are still coming buy every day and hitting the ones I cut every day.
  24. What about the Barnes TXS in 150 Gr.
