Wait a minute - that's how we got our cat. I got someone else's problem! That said, she turned out to be a sweetheart. Glad it worked out the way it did.

GSP Puppy for sale
Steuben Jerry replied to damore81's topic in Non Hunting Items For Sale and Trade
What a beautiful pup! I've got the room and the desire for a gun dog, but unfortunately am gone too long at work each day to do her any justice. Hope you find a loving and suitable home for her! -
Old Franklin stove for sale.
Steuben Jerry replied to Skillet's topic in Non Hunting Items For Sale and Trade
Thanks, I'd be interested in what it measures from the chimney pipe to the front of the stove to see how big of a pot or evaporator pan I could fit on it. -
Buck weight (field dressed) - what's a "big one" in NY
Steuben Jerry replied to buckchaser's topic in Deer Hunting
230+ lbs dressed in 2015. I've been working pretty hard since then and am about 188 just out of the shower. Do I have the right thread? -
Old Franklin stove for sale.

Skillet, how big is the top plate on that? I'm looking for something for outside for boiling down maple sap in a few months. -
Ever the Bills optimist, I'm not giving up all hope yet, but this has to be their fastest collapse ever. The season was only 5 days old for cripes sake!

Hybrid approach; I use an old fly fishing vest with lots of pockets, and fill those with my stuff. It's nice as it's an extra layer of warmth, but it's also flexible. It doesn't matter what I'm wearing, the vest goes over it, and I've got all my stuff. I still use a pack if I'm bringing a thermos, camera, or other bulky items.

Rest in peace Mr. Max.

Agreed 100% on Rex. But I respectfully disagree on Whaley. I think he's been pretty masterful bringing in talent via trades, free agency, and the draft. Swing and a miss on Watkins, but I don't think it's Whaley's fault that Watkins seems to be made of balsawood. I remember the complacency all to well by the various GM's the Bills have had in the last decade, and Whaley at least has the cojones to make bold gambles. Rex doesn't know what to do with talent when he has it, and his undisciplined style has bled down to his teams throughout his career. Poor clock management, poor game adjustments, and overall lack of control. I miss Wade Phillips. The last good coach they had.

It's not too early! They've been rebuilding since the turn of the century. It's my own fault for drinking the Kool-Aid...

C'mon man!!! I feel like Charlie freakin Brown going to kick Lucy's football. Another disappointing start to what is starting to look like another lost season. You'd think I'd be used to this by now...

I'm doing the last of my field and trail brush hogging between now and the end of September. Before I switch the brush hog to a plow blade, I usually run the trails with a york rake. Usually after most of the leaves have fallen. I'm out with the tractor quite a bit, and I barely get a glance from deer unless I change up the cadence.

It felt pretty "deery" walking to the driveway at 5:30 this morning. That crisp, fresh morning perked me up better than coffee!

Very nice Wooly!!

I like to get it spread out while it's still hot enough to wear shorts. Have to spread it around as the good bucks are harder to shoot when they're all bunched up around the pile..

What a great day! You guys slayed 'em!

Here's something that saved me some green; I owned my hunting camp for about 20 yrs before I built my house there. About 5 years into ownership I bought a cheap camper and parked it on the property. About 1 and 1/2 years later I got a heckuva surprise in my tax bill. It went up 700%!! They tried to say that I now had a seasonal residence on what was once vacant land. When I explained that I was simply parking my REGISTERED camper there, they backed off completely. Well, I think my tax bill went up $25. But it would have gone up $3000.

OK, so everyone has a line they won't cross, I've been known to press too much on the accelerator pedal from time to time. Just curious though, as far as hunting regulations go, where do you draw the line?

I've only seen a couple in 20+ years at my place, and wanted a mount as well. Got this guy back last year - cost more than a whitetail mount! Just a heads up on cost. ETA; the pic is portrait aspect, so it's rotated 90 degrees here.

Trimmed this out today.

ps, the buck in my avatar pic is a 10 point I got last year on opening morning. Was my best buck to date, but not a huge rack (looks bigger in the photo). A pretty good friend and neighbor told me he had passed on it during bow season. I told him "thanks dude, I couldn't have done it without you". I did make him some jerky though!

Never let anyone tell you what you should shoot. If it's legal, you're good. Only you know what a good buck is to you.

The moment after you pull the trigger.
Steuben Jerry replied to left field's topic in General Hunting
I'm usually wondering how much "ground shrinkage" there might be... -
Best of luck, Eddie!
