Happy Birthday -
That's worse than me. I got out 30 times during bow but saw quite a few deer. 75 total 23 where bucks for sure but either they were to far away or real small. I have had some rough gun seasons but have never gone this long without seeing one. What really is messing things up here is all the "hunters" out & about. They are hunkering down and not moving unless they have to or are pushed to. What frustrates me the most is I am not seeing much sign either. I hope to get it figured out but they may win this year which means more for next year I guess.

Congrats to all that have filled some tags. With one week gone and 24 1/2 hrs. hunting already I have yet to SEE a deer. Sure hope things pick up soon. Not shooting is one thing but not seeing any or seeing much sign is another. I know there are some left out there I just have to find them.

Something like riding a bike wearing a bicycle helmet, fluorescent spandex, knee pads, and elbow pads, down the expressway in rush hour traffic, thinking no one will hit you because you are dressed "safely". Sometimes a little bit of common sense goes a long ways. -
I would pay to see "turkeyfeathers" spelled out in the snow...or is your name AL

The guy was wrong for sure and will more than likely face charges but as usual the "news" is not reporting or have all the facts. Regardless if the gun is capable of that yardage who the hell can see two hundred yards at night. All facts are not out yet and if it like the rest of the reporting they do they never will be. Still a tragedy either way. -
True story...I have a friend that cannot wait for any length of time so he came up with the bright idea of taking a milk jug with him in the stands. Some other friends found out about it and apoxied the rim one morning before he left for hunting. He found out you cannot zip up with a jug in he way

You should!!! Who in their right mind would take a walk around Canadice Lake in the middle of deer season. There are a lot better times of the year to take that walk..especially with your family. -
Isn't that what everyone does??? Think of the money the guy or girl that invented them has made...just like the orange construction cones & barrels. The world would be a much prettier place without them.

So this morning decided to hunt a piece of state property where I have killed a few deer from and normally doesn't get hunted because of the steepness. It is very steep almost straight up and takes at least a half hr. to climb. Made it to the top huffing, puffing, and sweating pretty hard. Got about 50 yds. from where I normally sit and some guy starts whistling to let me know he was there. Walked down the hill a ways to give him some room. Saw a black squirrel, a bunch of gray squirrels, geese a flying, and a gut pile. Fifth day hunting and I haven't seen a deer. Good thing I don't take this gun hunting to serious. Congrats to all of those that have scored. I will be sitting out the rest of the day eating, drinking, being merry, and watching football. Hope everyone enjoys their day.

How long have you been hunting??? Don't you know you are suppose to shoot consecutive times until empty.

Runnings or Tractor Supply...smells good to

Just got in from a morning sit and didn't see a thing but now I have a greater appreciation of how Dorothy in the wizard of oz felt when the house blew away.

No such thing as a bad bow season for me. Whether I get anything or not it is my favorite time of the year. As far as productive it stunk, and the weather was not typical but it sure beats what I am having to go thru now Now I get to be in the woods and see no deer vs the 75 that I saw during bow season

Not a good day for "Charlies"...Charlie Rose had a bad day also. https://www.washingtonpost.com/investigations/eight-women-say-charlie-rose-sexually-harassed-them--with-nudity-groping-and-lewd-calls/2017/11/20/9b168de8-caec-11e7-8321-481fd63f174d_story.html?utm_term=.07687e42e581

I would be pulling up my pants and leaving that party and looking for somewhere else to hunt.

Get the biggest you can afford...vertical/ horizontal option is nice but you won't need the vertical unless you are splitting some real heavy pieces and you still have to horse them around. I use to use a plank to roll the heavy ones up on my horizontal. When I burned wood I bought log loads and never got anything to big to handle. I have been using this for the last 4 or 5 years in my mowers, trimmer, atv, snowblower, etc . Treats 48 gallons for about $7.00 available at Tractor Supply or Lowes. It is usually cheaper at Lowes.
