  1. Just one opinion.....he should be removed from the gene pool so he doesn't reproduce.
  2. I have a big dog hang on and 4 sections of sticks 4' each totaling 16 feet for $75.00
  3. AHHH The good life Great Video as always.
  4. Probably not but if you are getting to hunt with your Dad that is more important whether you get or see anything. Good Luck and enjoy your time together and make the best of it you can.
  5. Checked the radar before going out this afternoon and it showed clear & no rain. I was in the stand 20 minutes and it started raining & didn't stop until after I got down. Saw one deer in the brush 40 yds. away that I could not identify. Had a BIG doe catch me moving in the stand as she came up the hill and she booked without a shot opportunity. Got the freaking Mathews wet Congrats WNYBuckHunter and good luck with your quest with the different weapons.
  6. I don't care if grows up to the windows...my last cut was the 14th. I have better things to do
  7. Did a 2 1/2 hr. sit this morning. Had two different spikes come through 10 minutes apart staying in the thick stuff. First one couldn't have weighed 60 lbs. but had antlers about 6" high. Got down & scouted a little bit....not a lot of sign and they don't appear to be in the roaming mode here yet. Tons of squirrels out & about. The wind picked up and the rain started about noon. Got home and the idiot across the road was mowing his lawn. 40 degrees, wind & rain. . I gave that up two weeks ago. Off to get a DMP for another area I hunt and back at it this afternoon if the rain stops.
  8. Haven't you heard ...due to inflation they are going for Dollar Bills now.
  9. "How big is this bear" Bigger than I would care to drag out. Looks like a nice one though.
  10. Didn't you hear??? Cumo says everything is under control. Count how many times he says UM
  11. HOPE EVERYTHING GOES WELL
  12. There is a bill in Washington to give pistol permit holders the right to carry from one state to another. Local governments and law makers are organizing to oppose this bill. Listen to the thought process from a Rochester council woman were she says they know "they can't control illegal weapons" but they are willing to control what legal weapon owners can do. https://huntingny.com/forums/forum/18-gun-and-hunting-laws-and-politics-discussions/?do=add UNBELIEVABLE
  13. Take a pillow and you can nap while the wind rocks you to sleep but make sure your harness is on.
  14. I have several but I think # 1 would be finding trash (bottles, wrappers, snack bags, etc.) in the woods left by some hunter to lazy to pick it up. Happens more during gun season that bow but still find stuff during bow. #2) Would be to be out calling and have another caller set up and call right on the opposite side of the block. #3) Hunters that shoot the first thing they see regardless of size. #4) Hunters loosing deer due to poor shot placement and the lack of shooting and tracking skills. #5) The hunter that just puts his/her cloths on for the first time in the season, grabs the gun, walks out the backdoor, shoots a 200lb 14 pointer and calls themselves a deer hunter. I have others but will not bore you with the details
  15. Rechargeable, Temperature control. Couldn't find any reviews but sounds like it could be useful. https://www.bowhunting.com/news/2017/08/16/stay-warm-stay-comfortable-summit-heated-seat/
  16. I use them on the ladder stands but have found them to be somewhat of a pain with the climber so just use the harness & strap. Sure would be nice to go all the way to the ground though if something did happen.
  17. 8-H ....52° 20 mph winds, rain on the way today & tomorrow, winds forecasted for 50-60 mph. High winds forecasted for the next few days. While I should be out there I am not swaying back & forth in a tree or getting the Mathews wet. Looks like I'll have to set out a few days or do some scouting.
  18. Did an afternoon sit til dark. Way to warm. Didn't see a thing from the stand and at 6:30 on the way out spotted a big buck feeding in the field. To dark to count points but he was wide and tall. Time to break out the power scrape and hit some of the scrapes near me to try and draw him in.
  19. Jumped two out of the field on the way in...to dark to tell what they were. While climbing the tree had 4 run through...again couldn't catch any horns. 9:35 had a buck to my right at 15 yds. Thought it was a small 4 point but once he turned his head I could see it was a decent 6 point. He didn't like path he was taking and decided he had better backtrack and go the other way. Not sure if he got a whiff of me or the evercalm. Either way he didn't offer a shot. My Views This morning:
  20. I use one of these from Harbor Freight mounted in the rafters of the garage. Pretty handy for lifting other things to. It is out of the way when not in use and has been reliable.
  21. Law....it wasn't meant "It is the only one to have". I use it because it saves me from carrying and looking for a bleat can also. About 5 yrs. ago I called a buck in from a field about 150 yards away with it and I was able to harvest him. He came in on a trot and gave me a nice 20 yd. shot. I am sure given the right situation just about any of the calls on the market would work. I just use it because it is convenient, is realistic, and it has the adjustable tones. Not saying it is any better than any of the others and it hasn't brought any "world class" bucks my way. I don't need to push it for them they have a pretty aggressive marketing system.
