I miss it.. especially after seeing some of the loons out rifle hunting.. driving through fields.. parking in fileds hunting out of their trucks.. just insane actions... Was one of the deciding factors in me shooting a 3 point that I passed up with the bow 3 days before... He would just get shot by one of these guys and figured better he be in my freezer than theirs.. I know, not the best management thinking, but my family only eats venison for red meat, we do not buy beef... I'm hoping muzzle loader has less idiots out...

Started my vacation last Saturday, 11/09 with a huge doe with my bow... Then added another nice doe bow kill Wed of last week, then rifle opener I took a nice 3 pointer... Definitely the best week of hunting I've had in a long time...

Most states I believe are 1/2 before and a 1/2 hour after... Would be better to do that and add hunter orange than the stupid rule of surise to sunset... in my opinion...

I know I've started to hunt more from blinds and I'm loving the up close and personal with deer!!! What a rush!!!

I start vacation Saturday (11/10), I'll be on stand all day at the point... till I can't do it anymore... I like the moon a lot better next week over this week...

Because they just taste soooooo good!!! LOL.. I am a first generation hunter.... So no clue why I love to hunt them so much. .but glad I do.. life would be BORING without it..

Got a 5500 watt Generac and keep 20 gallons of gas on hand with Stabil in it.... Run the fridge and freezers in 4 hour sets... Getting a transer switch installed to power the enitre house though... Hate running extension cords through the house... -
Timing is based on amount of light in the day passing through a does eyes.... Temps, doe/buck ratio's and human pressure effect intensity.. My contribution to the science of the rut.. LOL

They make the law surise to sunset for deer hunting.... Buddy and I are "discussing" it... I've said it has been like that for years and years... He said he thought it changed within the past 7 years... Any thoughts????

but if you are in your stand after Sunset, isn't it considered "hunting" past legal light??? Not trying to start something.. just asking the rules??

What is the states reasoning for Sunrise to Sunset hunting hours??? The 1 good thing my state does is a half hour before to a half hour after... If it was a safety thing, go with hunter orange.... It's the best hour of the day and we can't hunt then... Thoughts... comments... reasons the state does it....

That does suck though.... In Ma. we can hunt from 15 minutes before to 15 minutes after...

Go to Vegas.... It's odds.... If you take 35 fawns (1 per doe) being born all at once, the odds of more of them surviving are better than 35 fawns being born over 2 months... And I believe the study was done by D & DH.... I'll have to go back and find it though... not sure what web site I found it on.. But think of Sea turtles... They all hatch at once, predators are waiting for them but it is done that way in nature to give the majority of them the best chace to make it past them... Shotgun in it so to speak..

Not that simple... Depends on the health of the herd... Does in good shape would have multiple births.. but I'll use what you gave... MU2 would have more fawns survive to get to the following hunting season.. MU1 runs the risk of fawns being born to late in the spring to do well and are subject to more predations... MU2, fawns would all be born within days and coyotes/bears etc would be hard pressed to do as much damage as they could with fawns being spread out over a 2 -3 month period.
