I believe the NY regs say limb tip to limb tip... not axle to axle.

An old gunsmith told me ........NEVER us WD-40 on guns!!!

Depends upon caliber. Usually it’s more like 2-2.5 inches high. MPBR varies.

Glad to hear Tiffany was there. Wasn’t she battling some form of cancer?

I sort of miss the snow... as long as I can stay inside and look out a window! I had to cut the grass yesterday, and we turned the AC on as it was in the mid 80's. Same thing only different... I guess.

I just watched (a bit ago) SpaceX launch this beast. OMG. Then the two boosters land back at the Cape simultaneously. The core is suppose to land on a drone ship as well. Not sure how this came out.... but the whole thing was awesome. Even though I live over 80 miles from the Cape, I can see it go up from my front porch. The weather was perfect at 84* and light winds. A huge success for SpaceX.

Which Bushnell scopes? The Banners and similar are crap. The mid and upper tiers (3500, 4500, 6500) are quite good. AFAIK, they are coming from LOW in Japan. I've had a 4500 series that puts the Leupold VX2 and VX3 models to shame.
-
If the deal fails or if you don’t like the Vortex, check the Bushnell line. Their 3500 series in a 4-12x40 with the 600 DOA reticle would be a good choice. It can be had for around $250. There is the next step up with the 4500 series. The glass is pretty darn good.

There are tons of good options. How long is your long range? Do you want to twist dials? When you say no BDC, does that include "Christmas tree" reticles as well? Good glass / coatings always trump magnification. I'd suggest checking out the Meopta line. Meopro is in the stated price range. Many of the lower level stuff is made in China. Don't know if that bothers you or not (it does me). Another solid choice would be the "Super Chicken" (LOL) scopes sold by S.W.F.A.

My wife and I may venture up in May or June to hang out at our cabin... and continue the work we started last year. Lots could / should be done but ... -
I have a Browning Sweet Sixteen (Belgian) that I bought new in 1966. It's a beautiful gun... in a timeless design. Your collection is outstanding. Congrats.

It is... I just got one. Light, legal and lethal.
