I've learned to stay off the phone while I am out hunting so ill post up now. I was out Saturday morning and Sunday after the Bills loss.. total of 9 hours. On the drive Saturday morning, I hit a 4 pt with the truck. I saw it coming and was able to slow way down... minimal damage, three dents, left fender, left front door and left rear door. Bummer. I stayed out for 4.5 hours or so until it got too warm for me. There was some shooting in the area but unfortunately I did not see any deer other than on the drive there. Last evening, I got into my spot and after 45 minutes or so I heard something "coughing", followed by pawing noises. Im thinking I just had a buck bed down near me. A bit later I decided that I would move down about 80 yds to play the wind better... the breeze seemed to stop swirling at that point. I stood up and and heard the coughing sound again... as I walked very slowly, I saw the bedded buck and was able to sneak in for a picture! I am surprised he didnt bolt out of there. I did not see any does at all. The bedded buck was still in there when I left also!. Great to get out hunting again! Ill be heading out after work again today Congrats to all that put some meat in the freezer this weekend

I am planning on going out in the morning... Ill give you a first hand observation. (you know where I will be). I am mentally prepared to break down a deer tomorrow. I do not think it is going to be as busy as a lot of folks think either.

Good point, Doc. The hikers and mountain bikers are going to be in for a surprise in the morning!

I have not officially put in any time off requests yet but I have just over 4 weeks of unused vac time. The company is pretty good about last minute requests, so I have options to work around weather etc... But for sure Thanksgiving week and the week of the holiday hunt, a lot of half days in early bow season and a lot of long weekends, also a few half days for early antlerless.

Any 8G or 9F hunters going out for early gun antlerless season this year? Sept 11th through the 18th Yup... Ill have my muzzleloader with me

Very nice! you are going to love it! I bought a CVA Wolf last season and am very happy with it. If you hunt any shotgun only areas, you can use the muzzy. Ill let you know when I go out to sight mine in (it should be fine from last year) but Id like to take a few shots anyways.

That is the plan, Bowmanmike. Last season I bumped it up a little bit from 50#... am not sure where it is set right now but I am reducing it before I shoot again. Waiting on some 125 grain field points, then Ill lower it down and re sight it in before I shoot a broadhead.. Going a little heavier this year

Shoulder and back problems making it very difficult to draw the bow this year.. Im only good for two or three shots then I cannot draw anymore. Ill have to take some poundage off. New arrows shoot great. My first and only shot yesterday afternoon

Real nice gun, Jerry. My son has the same one and I have the CVA Wolf. Both use 2 white hot pellets and powerbelt bullet... just like the literature that comes with the gun says... Start there and see how you like it. Both guns shoot very accurate and I get 5 shots between cleaning. Cleaning is a breeze also. Enjoy the new toy!

True that... I see more doe than bucks. Not really sure why this area is so restricted the last few years....
