Registering Snowmobile this year?
WNYBuckHunter replied to Jaeger's topic in ATV's , UTV's, Dirtbikes & Snowmobiles
I picked up a sled for the kids this year. Have to get new skis and I havent ordered them yet. Im not in a rush lol. Figures it would be so warm this year. -
I use a sunshade on my scope along with a flip cap.

If you buy the local coupon books, they usually have lots of Dick's coupons in them. I paid $20 for the book and have already saved double that buying Christmas gifts at Field & Stream (they are owned by Dicks and take their coupons).

No clue

LOL, Im one of the guys that refused to hunt the doe only seasons. I have no issue putting does on the ground. I put 4 in my freezer during gun season and missed a shot at another during bow. Doc hit the nail on the head as to why I refused to participate.

That was a different one, I dont think I ever got a pic of this guy from my stand. Had encounters, but I was too busy trying to get a shot to get my phone out haha.

I have one of those and unless they changed it, the platform does not contact the tree. The ladder is very flimsy as well, and mine bowed when we lifted it up the first time. Had to replace a section of ladder. I added a 4x4 and 2x4 to fill the gap between the platform and tree, then I put a ratchet strap around the tree from the platform to hold it in place. Otherwise it was a very spongy feeling stand. The flip up seat also rubbed on one of the side rails, and I had to smash the corner of it in so that it would flip up and down quietly. I honestly would not recommend that stand.

It may have helped a little, but if the area was that overpopulated, it wouldnt have solved the problem. The DEC cant get a real grip on doe numbers for many reasons, but the first one is the current license structure. Every hunter that buys their gun, bow and muzzleloader privilege in NY essentially has 3 antlerless tags that can be used anywhere in the state. How can the DEC properly allocate DMPs based on WMU with that being the case? All antlerless harvests should be handled the way DMPs currently are, then they can begin to get a better handle on things. EAB is not a good idea statewide, as there are many areas that do not have the doe numbers to support it. Stop relying on the state to manage things for you, and take the initiative to learn your herd, and do whats necessary (within the limits of the laws) to control your deer population locally.

I have a 700 VTR in 308. I wish they had been making the 260s when I bought mine. Its a great rifle, and is very accurate. Im getting sub-MOA results at 100 yards with a 2.5lb Timney trigger (didnt want to deal with the recall) and Federal Fusion 150gr ammo. The factory stock is typical, not floated tupperware, so that will get replaced soon, but it doesnt stop it from shooting very well. I knew about the stock going into it. The two things I dont particularly care for with the gun are the finish and the muzzle brake. The factory matte finish gets this rust colored haze on it if it gets wet. Ill Cerakote it and never worry about it again. The brake is loud. Just the nature of the beast. The triangle barrel makes it nice to carry, as you get bull barrel like accuracy with less weight. I used to have a 700SPS-V in 223. It was a great gun, and was an absolute tack driver. Had basically the same highs and lows as my VTR, with one additional down side and one up side. With the long bull barrel, it was not fun to carry in the field. It did not have the brake, so it wasnt anywhere near as loud.

Last night I made my bacon wrapped stuffed backstrap in the smoker, then fried up some hand cut french fries and made some poutine to go with it.

NY is #1 Worst State to Hunt Whitetails

So you are telling me that you have never once broken any hunting or fishing regulation, or are you telling me that you havent gotten caught breaking one? I can say that I have never had an issue either, which means Ive never been handed a ticket, or been caught breaking any hunting or fishing regulation either. I cant say Ive never broken any, I just havent gotten caught. Do I jack deer? Nope, never have. Do I shoot them out of season? Nope, never have. Have I used anyone elses' tag or given my tag to anyone else to use? Nope. Have I filled a tag out wrong? Most likely. Have I caught a bass in May? Absolutely. I just havent gotten a ticket, and dont feel that minor infractions should be punished in the same way that major ones should be. -
But if its a clean bone that came from a penis, theres no symbolism thats going to take away the fact that its from a penis.

You dont get both if you dont buy both privileges. If you buy both privileges, they are interchangeable. -

What does accountability have to do with making every single hunting infraction equal a $10000 fine and lifetime ban? My bet is, you would have less money in your pocket and would no longer be able to hunt if that was the case. -

Not everyone gets 4 DMPs. Look, in any area of the state, you can get 3 tags if you bow hunt, ML hunt and gun hunt. Everything else is dependent on where you are. -

You dont get an either sex for ML and bow. You get an either sex you can use in ML OR bow, a doe permit you can use in ML OR bow, Regular buck tag, that if not filled turns into an either sex in late season, and between 0 and 4 DMPs. You wonder why doe numbers are so out of whack in many areas? Think about the fact that you have essentially 3 doe tags that you can use anywhere in the state. Even in the areas they dont hand out DMPs in because the population is considered too low. -

I always forget how long it is up North. Down here its 4 weeks and a couple of days. I have mixed feelings on it. On one hand I know that a split season would help a bit with the pressure deer feel, but on the other hand I like having that much time to hunt. I know quite a few guys that wouldnt have more than a day or two available to hunt if the seasons were that short. Youd probably see alot of them quit, and that kind of a cut in our numbers is not a good thing. From a QDM standpoint, I get it, from an overall view of whats best for the sport, maybe its not a great idea. AR you will never ever sell me on. Its a band aid at best, and not a good thing to mandate. -

The difference is you are showing evidence of using violence in an unwarranted manor. Plus, when applying for a pistol permit, you are agreeing that your permit will be revoked for being convicted of such things. BTW, If you call punching your wife a lapse of judgement, I dont even know what to say.
