  1. The fawns will continue to do it until the doe no longer lets them. Like Doc said, they are not dependent upon it at this point.
  2. Ive been wasting my money then? Is that what youre telling me? Damn!
  3. Checked for my area, now mid 70s and no rain. Still a stupid W wind though, I need a good N or S, or even a freakish E wind!
  4. Please. NY will NEVER be Illinois, or Kansas. There are too many variables that any type of legislation will simply, not change. The only land in NY that comes close to what you have in the midwest, is the fingerlakes/western NY region, and even here, there are not the large, continuous, parcels of land you need for deer to hide out in. Even the largest Ag tracts here are no comparison to the midwest. There are also 3x or more hunters in this state, so the pressure is much greater. Im not saying NY doesnt have big deer, because we do, but its simply no comparison between here and the states you are talking about, and it never will be. I am also not saying management isnt good for the herd, but fooling yourself into thinking you can create booners or P&Y bucks behind every tree in this state is just not realistic.
  5. Sorry to hear that. They knew where they were. Have you had trespassing problems before? Single person ladder stands are light, and someone could easily take them down by themselves, and quickly. The big double stands are a different story. I hope you figure out who took them, and at least get your stuff back.
  6. Second pic tells the story, long, lanky legs, still tall in the rump and look at that brisket. I still think 2 1/2.
  7. Mine is actually pretty short. 4 bucks on it at this point. My "I will not shoot" list is alot longer.
  8. Shoot, I forgot about this and didnt add anything all summer. To make a long story short, we put in 4 food plots, created a 600 yard long by 15 foot wide trail through a stand of woods, which was seeded in feed oats. We hung 4 brand new stands, moved a couple more, added a ground blind, cleared all kinds of trails at another property and scouted our tails off. We are now 100% done, the hit list has been created, and we are ready to go.
  9. Under Armor Cold Gear. I resisted it for years, but was given some last year. Im sold on it. 110%
  10. I dunno, kinda funny looking though. Could just be the hair.
  11. If you look at the childhood obesity stats, youll see that the trend is going in the right direction. Its the same with ARs, through education, the younger hunters are seeing the light and passing more younger deer. Eventually, the old timers that dont buy into it, will be gone, and the yearling harvest will drop off more. Why? Education. Deer are not going to be eradicated, so if it takes a bit more time, and more people continue to hunt and not get disgruntled because something was shoved down their throat, then thats fine by me.
  12. No, they stopped doing it after the move Super Size Me came out. Education....
  13. I hope to see him in your success thread post, with your bow laying across him and an ear to ear grin on your face.
  14. Q. Is posting required to protect landowners from liability? A. No. Whether the property is posted or not, the General Obligations Law protects landowners from liability for non-paying recreationalists on their property. Because of this protection, recreational liability lawsuits against rural landowners are uncommon. Recreational activities covered include: hunting; fishing; organized gleaning (picking); canoeing; boating; trapping; hiking; cross-country skiing; tobogganing; sledding; speleological (caving) activities; horseback riding; bicycle riding; hang gliding; motorized vehicle operation for recreation; snowmobiling; non-commercial wood cutting or gathering; and dog training. This protection does not apply in cases of willful or malicious failure to guard or warn against dangers. Q. May the owner or lessee charge for hunting, fishing, or trapping on the posted property? A. Yes, but charging for access removes the liability protection granted to the landowner by the General Obligations Law.
  15. Hes just a copy cat lol You should see our Encores LOL, damn near twins. Seriously though, if you ever look through one, and compare it to the other brands out there, youll know why Culver saw the light.
  16. Exactly, but whatever floats your boat.
  17. Id say 3 1/2, but its really tough to tell with that angle. I agree on mid 120s.
  18. Nice 2 1/2. Id let him walk.
  19. 1 1/2. If you want to, shoot away. Personally, I wouldnt, but thats neither here nor there.
