    Flipped Miss Piggy about a hr ago. Internal temp is about 155°. Eating around 3. My timing should be perfect. I'll reduce the pit temp to 175° and let it ride till serving time once she hits 165°.

    Cooking for a friend's son's wedding reception today. I did the mac-n-cheese and baked beans yesterday. Just have to reheat. Started the pit this morning around 5:30. 70lb Miss Piggy went on at 6:30.

    I use my pellet "grill" as a dedicated smoker as far as grilling and higher temps to sear. It doesn't compare to a gasser or a charcoal grill. I'm sure others do, but mine is a smoker and it does that job extremely well. If you're only looking for a smoker, don't overlook a pellet "smoker". You just might be surprised.

    Couple buddies and I have a bow hunt in Illinois early November. However Illinois is on the NY ban list. My wife and my buddies wife had to sign some covid contact crap. If we go, we would have to stay away from our wives for 14 days when we get back. Now some might see that as a win win, lol. Were giving it till end of this month, and if Illinois is still on the list, were canceling so the outfitter might have a chance of filling our spot.

    @518BowSlayer. I still have my other grandnephew's spike in the freezer. I need a cape. I mentioned it to you when I picked up Dom's buck. If you have access to a cape, let me know the cost. Don't mind paying for it. If not I just might have to shoot a early season spike/4pt this fall.

    You said you need a new smoker. Your old masterbuilt isn't a grill and can't be used as one, and produces smoke like any other smoker. So are you looking for a all in one, smoker/grill or a dedicated smoker?

    I'm very happy with the 4pt he did for me. It was my grandnephews first buck.

    Why is the wife against a pellet grill? I love mine. 6 yrs old and sits outside in the weather. I has a fitted cover that sill looks good. A bag of pellets don't take up much room, and a smoke tube will help with smoke flavor if you like it a little stronger.

    It's his or miss in northern Columbia county. Lots of oaks and mediocre hickory nuts. Any client that has a black walnut, it's loaded. Never seen a deer even sniff a BW nut.

    I've heard the mountains in Tennessee are about the same. Get 4 seasons, but winter lasts about 4-6 weeks and any snow they get is gone the next day. Liberal leftist running this state, jacking up the taxes makes leaving here very easy.

    OMG. What a time capsule. I'd love to see those pics. I'd be very careful in choosing a company to copy or put on a disk. My cousin had a horrible experience, and most of his pics were destroyed. Sorry to hear about your grandmother passing. What a generation to be apart of. Thanks for your families service.

    My dad has a purple hart metal from WW2. I've got his hand written memos of him being shot, not fatal, and wrapping them up and continuing to fight. Also have his memo of when he was shot in the upper leg, and could hear the Germans going from building to building killing those still alive. They were only a few buildings away when the allied forces attacked, saving his life. Can't fathom what these guys went through. Thanks dad for you sacrifice. RIP..
