  1. I guess there leaving it up to the DEC officers, lol. I live a couple miles from the local officer. I'll stop by in the next day or two and ask him.
  2. But it doesn't state anywhere that safety orange is required during the archery season while using a crossbow.
  3. I was wondering the same thing. Hopefully someone will clarify shortly.
  4. Beautiful morning. Watched through the binos, my nephew Dom arrow his first deer this morning. Seen blood immediately on the exit side. Only went 80 yrds and plied up. He's pretty sure it's the same spike he missed yesterday out of the same stand.
  5. He's friggin hooked. Going to Field and stream to get more broadheads, lol.
  6. Well, my nephew Dom not only missed a spike, but a doe too. I'm thinking the first yr adrenaline rush has a lot to do with it. Lol. Practicing, he touches arrows at 30 yrds, so I'm going with the shakes...
  7. That's what I told him. And to make sure he's a little closer, lol.
  8. Two nephew's and I are out. Dom was on stand for about 2min when a spike came out in the food plot. His very first shot at a deer with a bow resulted in a miss.
  9. Old Chatham. 4U. This area is mostly fields with small tracks of woods. I live 6 miles away, and bear sightings are fairly common, but it's lots of woods with little to no fields. I'm sure there has been bear on the property before, it's just we've never seen one or any sign over the yrs.
  10. Had 8 doe, fawns and a spike feeding in the food plot. As often happens as the sun drops lower, the wind died down to nothing and switched directions... Directly to the deer.
  11. Button buck in the food plot. Hopefully his granddad will show up.
  12. In overlooking a food plot. Had 2 small bucks in front of my nephew's spot around 1:30. But he works until 2.
  13. Rarely hunt morning, but should have today. Light frost on shop roof, but nothing lower on deck, picnic table, or truck. Good luck to those that are out.
  14. Chevrolet said my truck has been shipped to the dealer. However, as of today, my dealer can't confirm. I'm threading a fine line between old and new truck as I need to have the plow installed on the new truck.
  15. Had one spike go by at 100 yards. Had to stop at a clients just down the road from where I hunt, and there's two 8's fighting in there field. Guess I picked the wrong stand.
  16. I'll let my nephew's fill the freezers. I'll take a couple last week of rifle and late ML.
  17. Soooo, why did you say thank God to her living in CA?
  18. But this yr has had a record amount of rain. And I've learned as a toddler ( a loooong time ago), that water and dirt = mud.
  19. Nope. Only when I turn off wifi. Don't want to call CS as I'm sure they will want me to be next to the cams.
  20. What are you talking about, no mud... This yr has been nothing but mud. Areas that are normally dry are a muddy mess. Swamps are the highest they've been, and the mud around them is incredible. Luckily, I haven't found any dead deer in my area. First widespread frost of the year is supposed to be next week.
  21. Can't tell you how excited I am to see this. Not sure if I would harvest this bear. It would be a fantastic trophy, but I would like to see them expand into the area also.
  22. Been hunting this property for 30 yrs. Never seen a bear or bear shit, or anything remotely indicating a bear. Hunted Maine for bear many yrs and know bear sign. This is the first confirmed sighting of a bear in this area in 30 yrs with dozens of cams throughout the yrs on 900+ acres.
