  1. Good luck everyone. Looking forward to the successful pics.
  2. Definitely a big bear. I'm in the 350 to 400 club.
  3. I bought two last week. Jaws work fantastic. IIRC the jaws will fit a 18" tree. I didn't bother with the traditional cross straps when setting up the second one.
  4. Killed most of my deer in the afternoon. But in fairness, I don't do morning hunt nearly as often. Large fields with small blocks of woods makes getting in without everything around knowing difficult at best.
  5. Awesome buck. Congrats.
  6. Yrs ago I knocked my rifle out of the tree. Happened to be a basketball sized rock under me that I was sure the rifle was good to smash into. Luckily, the stock hit a limb a few feet from the ground and spun the rifle so the barrel stuck in the ground. I counted my blessings and went home and cleaned 6" of mud out of the barrel.
  7. It's already 29°. I'm not a morning hunt guy at all. Might have to rethink that if my mutts get me up early enough.
  8. Ours really don't either, but that doorbell fools them every damn time.
  9. Yes, thats one of them. It's incredible how it fools them every damn time.
  10. Fooled by TV ads with a doorbell? There's a couple commercials that everytime they air, my mutts think someone is at the door and go ballistic. Drives me nuts.
  11. First post and just joined and FYI this is a 2yr old thread. Welcome...
  12. I might hold off on the xbow for a little bit. Shoulder is feeling ok, but every leaf cleanup I get done, it gets a little worse. If it gets too painful to pull the bow back, the xbow is sighted in and ready to be deployed.
  13. Funny story. Property that I used to hunt, the landowner shot what he thought was a doe(ML season) during a snowstorm. Turns out it's a 4.5” spike. He grabbed two rocks from the stonewall and busted the antlers off. He said it took a lot more effort than he expected. Wish he still owned that property. Was a incredible place to hunt.
  14. The light switch has been flipped. Seen nothing decent yesterday or this morning. Had two shooters come in from different directions after a doe. They locked horns for a few seconds before chasing after her. Unfortunately, not in my direction.
  15. He has no clue. Definitely can't use rifle in late season. And no you can't use bow/ml tags during rifle.
  16. Thanks. Not sure what I did wrong..
  17. @phade. I need a antenna for the original reveal. Are the generic ones I'm seeing on Amazon any good? Or if you have any, I'd be happy to buy from you.
  18. 4 toms and a boat load of squirrels so far. Overlooking a ridge between two bedding areas. Hopefully bucks will start using it during the daylight.
  19. Dogs got me up early, so I figured why not. Clear and light wind at the house. Few miles away as I'm walking in, rain. Now I'm wet, definitely under dressed, and the wind isn't light.
  20. Congrats on the spike. Always fun on the ground. That busted main beam looks fresh to me.
  21. I so want to get up tomorrow and hunt. But it's going to be a downpour. Wishing I had a ground blind in the area my nephew's and I put up a ladder stand. 7 scrapes in sight of the stand.
  22. My nephew Dom with his first bow kill. Was a emotional day. Dom was determined to get his first bow kill with his dad's bow. My nephew Adam, Dom's and Kayden's dad, passed in 2011 in a house fire. So proud of theses boys, and I know there dad is too.
  23. Congrats on the retirement. I can't blame you at all.
