  1. I've got a old(70's) commercial floor model chamber vac. What a awesome piece of equipment. However it's past it's prime, and parts for this German made unit are hard to find and outrageously expensive. I'm thinking about getting a new one, but at around $800-$1000, I'm hesitant to do so.
  2. However, he's correct. Do you see packaging with spike horns or does on them? No. It's all big racked bucks because that's what sells the product. Do you think these hunting shows would be so popular and lucrative if they only shot small deer and does? Of course not. So antlers do drive the hunting world. MOST of us go hunting to relax and enjoy nature and to experience the thrill of the hunt. We also get up at crazy hrs hoping to bag that big buck. It's a fact.. we do hope to take the big buck in our area, it's what drives us to keep doing this yr after yr. But the fat doe or spike is going to be this yrs trophy for a lot of hunters, and there's definitely nothing wrong with that either.
  3. Wish my area had a good population of bears. I'd shoot one every year if I could.
  4. I won't go back to plastic wrap and paper. On my 6th or 7th yr with a Cabela's brand. Countless deer, a few hogs, couple beef, and countless bulk stuff from the stores.
  5. Sorry to hear Gus will be having his last venison dinner. You'll see him on the rainbow bridge.
  6. Remember the " follow the arrow" rule when adjusting sights. If you're hitting high, move the pin up... It easy to think.. I'm hitting high, so I'll lower my pin, but that's only going to make you shoot higher. If that was just about anything than JD, I'd join ya, lol.
  7. No light for me. If public land, I'd have strobes, flashers, and banging symbols. Lol. Wouldn't be shot because I was mistaken for a deer, but I'd probably get shot because I was scaring all the deer, lol.
  8. Damm, I think the one in Albany closed last yr.
  9. A 50,000 acre fenced in area definitely isn't the same hunt as a 50 acre hunt. Not interested in purchasing a hunt in either, but if I won a trip to the 50,000 acre preserve, I'd go in a heartbeat. If I shot a giant buck that I had to work for, I'd be pumped. Would I pass it off as free range? No. Realistically, the odds of a 200"+ buck walking past my stand while either hunting in Iowa or a 50,000 acre preserve is still friggin slim. Never shot a P&Y or B&C deer. Would I like to, absolutely. Do I care if I never do? Nope.
  10. Nice looking rifle. Hopefully you get that fox soon as it will definitely be back looking for another chicken dinner.
  11. Grampy, if you really think it's your last yr, I'd be in there every chance you get during the pre rut on. who knows maybe someone that wants to keep it wild will purchase it and ask the previous owner who he allowed on the property.
  12. Most likely I won't hunt the first couple weeks. I'm still on the October 15th opener clock, lol
  13. Same here. Pork butt works perfectly.
  14. That sucks. It's amazing how much damage they do. Client hit a deer almost two months ago. Hasn't gotten her car back yet. Lack of available parts and lack of people who want to work across the entire supply chain has caused major delays.
  15. Damm slackers.... I'm up to explorer, lol.
  16. Next they will be banning trail cams because it's unfair to the criminal.
  17. The tactacam works just like a non cell cam if no data plan is purchased. The SD card needs to be pulled to view the pics. So no you can't. "connect" to the cam without a data plan.
  18. I've got two original reveals, a new reveal x and a stealth cam fusion. They all work well.
  19. This will be my 44th season. I actually got my first deer during bow season, a 4pt. Following yr I got a spike with the rifle.
  20. Couple maples in my backyard are starting to turn. The one on the right isn't too healthy.
  21. The stressed out, not so healthy trees are starting to drop. The last rain storm had the back roads covered in some spots.
  22. I thought about the ropeman 1, but I need to make 4 of these for myself and nephews, and those are not cheap. those with multiple stands, do you leave one in the tree for the season?
  23. Want to make my own lineman's belts with prusik knot. Most of the reviews I'm seeing on the manufactured ones say there too short, especially on larger trees. So those that make there own, how long do you make them?
