  1. Buddy found a lightly used one this summer. He said it works good. If it looks in good condition and not beat to hell, it sounds like a good deal.
  2. I highly doubt it was the broadheads. So easy to blame our equipment instead of ourselves for a miss. Caulk it up for what it is, a miss.
  3. Bow. Killed way more deer with the bow. Plus it's warmer and during the rut. Older I get the less I like the cold. I do enjoy the couple days leading up to and opening day of rifle. Getting together with friends and going over plans and tactics is a good time.
  4. My brother just told me he was just surfing marketplace.
  5. Looks like a good size bear. I'm sensing a bear mount in your future.
  6. This is the first time in about 7-8 yrs, that I have no youths to take out. Good luck to all those heading out next weekend.
  7. I see your point, but that big guy could walk by anytime.
  8. That's what hunting is all about. Congrats to the successful hunter and your hunting group for helping with the recovery and the high fives.
  9. Well that stinks. Doesn't look to mangled. Is it salvageable?
  10. I'd quit hunting if I shot that. Lol. Good luck. Hope to see a pic of your hands wrapped around his antlers.
  11. I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. Tell you kids stories about her. They will get to know her and how special she was through your and your memories. My mom's favorite season was spring. The following spring turkey season definitely helped me through a difficult time.
  12. I think you already found the boost of confidence.
  13. Yep. Potentially Let non hunting or worse, anti Hunters decided our hunting seasons. Brilliant.
  14. Has the food source changed in the fields? Mast crop dropping and changing things up?
  15. Been shooting great. Haven't tried the broadheads yet. Have 4 stands to move also. Haven't checked a single piece of gear or clothing. Hopefully by next weekend.
  16. Hopefully the supply chain will catch up to the demand, and prices will drop. I paid a little less than that for my 2019 570 new. The used prices are insane.
  17. I agree with you on the burger, I don't add anything to it, but you can't have venison sausage without mixing in some pork. Your correct that pork goes sour in the freezer over time. I usually make enough venison sausage to last 4-6 months. When thats gone, I'll make more as long as I've got some chunks left.
  18. Did you drop your bow out of the stand, or forget it? Don't see a haul line.
  19. My Toro mowers have greasable hubs. The newer Toro models however do not. They claim they have cut the warranty claims in half for bearing failures. If a hub fails, they replace it with a greasable. Go figure.
  20. Most ATV's will loose traction, before running out of power. If the area isn't too hilly, you shouldn't have to much of a issue with a 400-600cc ATV. I Pull a 4' drag, 25gal tow behind sprayer and a 80 lb seeder with my 570. Have a large wood wagon that it's handled well. I believe the Polaris sportsman 450 and the 570 are the same machine size wise, just the motors are different. Not sure if other manufacturers are the same though.
  21. My dad killed a crap load of deer from a blind made from brown burlap with a custom rattle can paint job. Didn't look pretty, but it was effective.
  22. It's the smallest I'd go. A 600 would be a good size. I don't see the need for the high displacement ATV's unless you plan on doing a lot of trail riding.
